Chapter 16 Boss(1/2)

On suspicion of violating the "Vigil Regulations", Ronan University conducted an emergency lockdown and all on-campus personnel were not allowed to go out.

More than a dozen police officers from the East Street District came and cordoned off the area around the university.

They will conduct a thorough investigation of Ronan University to ensure that no clues are missed.

This is mainly to see if Catalina will leave any traces of her life, which may play a key role in finding her.

The principal of Ronan University, an old woman with gray hair, was obviously not satisfied with the actions of the Sheriff.

But with the words "Vigil Regulations" there, there was nothing she could do no matter how dissatisfied she was.

Not happy?

Then don't get into trouble!

In Antar's words, before major circumstances arise, how this school will recruit students in the future is not within its scope of consideration.

Ronan University is an old school with a good reputation, but something like Heidi and Alice happened.

itself,

It is a manifestation of dereliction of duty.

Linden watched the police officers busy on campus, while the students could only look at them in fear through the windows in the dormitory building, and couldn't help feeling a little emotional.

They are all innocent students,

You shouldn't let such unnecessary disasters affect your life.

And all of this is to blame on the person who seems to be hiding in the dark.

"Let's go! My colleague is here."

When they came, they called a carriage master.

Antar helped Linden falsify his identity. He did not declare it, so he needed to hide it from his immediate superiors.

If you use the carriage from the police station, it will be difficult to answer the question later.

Linden followed him to the school gate, and a donkey cart pulling straw appeared in front of him, driven by an old man.

He held a whip in one hand and a thick cigarette in the other.

This kind of thick smoke is quite popular among workers and farmers in Loft City.

"This is Enovan, and I have the same part-time job."

Antar introduced him vaguely.

The identities of the night watchmen need to be kept secret, and they need to hide this dangerous job from everyone around them.

Especially ordinary residents.

Involving ordinary residents in possible threats is also expressly prohibited in the "Vigil Ordinance".

"Are you Lyndon?"

Enovan's pronunciation is very strange, as if it has a rough dialect.

"I heard Antar mention you several times, saying that you are a capable and weird guy."

"Thanks."

"Get in the car and I'll take you to meet other colleagues in our group."

Linden and Antar sat on the straw pile. After sitting firmly, he asked:

"Do you have several groups?"

"About seven or eight... You have to know that Loft City is so big. If we don't go out in groups, it will be very difficult to move... Enovan, how can you catch the train!"

The donkey cart obviously did not drive as smoothly as the horse-drawn carriage. When it passed through a depression in the road, the cart shuddered greatly.

"There's nothing you can do about it. I'm just a stupid donkey. You can either lend me your dark horse."

"You can tell me that my good horse will pull straw for you? What are you dreaming about?"

"What does Mr. Enova do for a living?"

"You don't need to call me sir, just call me by my first name."

Without looking back, Enovan raised his whip,

"I'm just a delivery boy, barely able to support my family, and I can't be called a gentleman."

"I think those who earn their own wages from their own work are all gentlemen."

Antar sneered and revealed:

"But the person who violates the "Vigil Regulations" and goes to work in the middle of the night, and ends up being possessed, must be a fool."

"Antar, do you want me to tell you all those bad things about you?"

Enovan silenced Antal at a loss for words, and he chose to lie down directly in the straw without answering.

"Why would I want to go to work in the middle of the night, haha."

The old deliveryman blew out a puff of smoke and laughed self-deprecatingly,

"I'm an outsider who doesn't understand the rules of Loft City, so I just want to add something nice to my family. Is there anything wrong with that?"

"Are you also a foreigner?"

"Well, I've been here for about thirty years or so, and I watched this guy Antar join the company."

"Your family must be very proud of you."

"I guess so!"

Linden saw Enovan's back trembling slightly.

The amplitude was very small, but he still captured it keenly,

"If they are still alive."

Silently all the way, the donkey cart drove to the East Street Police Station.

Linden got out of the car with Antar, but Enovan said he had to make a delivery, so he didn't get out of the car with them.

After watching the old man leave, Linden asked Antar:

"What happened to his family?"

"The devil is dead, what else can he do? He is the only one alive in the family. If the old man's daughter had not passed away, there would have been three generations living under the same roof."

"He is a poor man."

"Who isn't!"

Antar shrugged,

"Come with me, the boss should be in the group right now."

"Everyone else is a Sheriff too?"

"Not really, it's just that our office is inside.

Our boss is also the boss of the East Street Police Station."

It turns out that he is the director. No wonder Antar, an ordinary police officer, can mobilize many people.

This is all under the instruction of an expert.

Pushing open the door, Lyndon saw neat rows of desks and several large iron bookcases.

Several police officers responsible for clerical work were at their workstations, immersed in the vast ocean of files.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, they raised their heads, glanced at Linden and two, and quickly returned to work.

There were about thirty tables empty in the open room. It seems that all the security officers had been sent out.

At the end of the room, there is an independent room separated by frosted glass.

There is an eye-catching sign hanging on its door.

[Director’s private room, enter without incident]

"Our boss is usually busy at work, no one can disturb him casually."

The two of them walked through the desks and iron cabinets and walked to the director's private room.

Antar raised his fingers and knocked lightly on the door.

"Boss, I brought the person you wanted!"

Waited for a few seconds, no response.

Lyndon frowned,

Wouldn't something happen at the police station?

The dignified leader of the night watch?
