Chapter 25 Good night(1/2)

Loft City, East Street Police Station.

"No, no, your request is too much. You called me to the police station at night just to check the list of night watchmen in Loft City?

You are such a bastard! I don’t even have this authority, okay? Don’t go crazy here!

Did your kid become possessed just after joining the job?"

A kerosene lamp was lit in the office, and the weak light was just enough to highlight Antal and Linden.

There was still no one else at the Sheriff's Station for the time being. It was very late and other night watchmen were on duty, but the Sheriff, as an ordinary person, would not go out at night.

Oh, it’s not like there’s no one else.

Ian should be sleeping in his private room right now.

"I was serious."

Linden looked at Antal who was dancing and dancing at his work station, and said with a serious expression,

"When I find the key clues, I will definitely give you a reasonable explanation."

"Haha, do you think I will trust you again?

I can pretend I didn’t hear it, but if the boss hears it, you’ll suffer the consequences!”

"What do you want me to hear?"

Ian yawned, rubbed his eyes, and slowly emerged from the shadows.

"Boss, why are you awake?"

Antar immediately sat upright and restrained his exaggerated expression.

Regarding this point, Linden felt strange at first.

Antal obviously looks much older than Ian,

But when facing Ian,

He was always quite reserved.

This kind of restraint is not like facing a boss.

It's more like,

Junior meets elder?

"Nonsense, you are so loud, how can I sleep?"

Ian's voice rose a bit and he said angrily,

"Antar, give me a suitable reason!"

"It's him!"

Antar betrayed Linden without hesitation, pointed his thick finger at his nose and shouted.

"Oh? Lyndon? What can you do?"

"I want to check all the active night watchmen. Just their names are enough."

"All? All of Loft City?"

"That's right."

"Is it related to the current case?"

"Yes."

"Come on then, come to the office with me."

"good."

Lyndon didn't waste any time with Ian and quickly followed him.

"Eh? Boss? Why did you agree to him now?"

Ian waved his hand without looking back:

"If you could continuously uncover important clues during your internship, I would definitely trust you now."

"this……"

"Why are you still sitting here? Come and help."

There was a hint of majesty in Ian's calm tone.

Antar opened his mouth wide and didn't know how to answer, so he had to quickly follow Lyndon and Ian.

He muttered quietly:

"Why does he feel so good at this internship? He keeps riding on my head."

"Antar, what did you say?"

"Boss, it's nothing."

Lyndon and Antar stopped at the desk at the right time.

Ian opened the iron cabinet and took out several stacks of rosters at once.

"Copies of the professional information of each group are here, with detailed records of their names, daily work, years of service, etc... Tell me, what are you looking for?"

"I want to find clues about Carpio from this."

Linden took over the roster and gave a portion to Antal.

Ian raised his eyebrows and said in surprise:

"Do you think this guy is a night watchman?"

"I can't be sure. I just got intelligence that he may have connections with the organization."

"Tell me more about it."

Linden spread out the roster behind his desk, raised his head, and looked directly into Ian's eyes:

"That teacher, Katarina, modified my and Jana's memories and created illusions.

The informant reminded me that this is the ability of the Night Watchman.

I want to find all the night watchmen whose names are Catalina, or something similar to Carpio."

Ian sighed and said with some dissatisfaction:

“This is a skill that can only be learned by very high-level night watchmen.

Antar, maybe you should explain to me why you didn't report such important information."

Linden also set his sights on Antal.

The giant man was frightened by the two gazes. His face turned red and he whispered:

"With my low-level position, how can I know such high-level abilities..."

"Anyway, this is your fault.

I will seriously discuss this issue with you after I understand the incident."

"Yes, boss..."

"Linden, is there anything else you want to report?"

"Not yet, let's find the matching list first."

Lyndon has plunged among the roster, carefully searching for targets.

Ian and Antal also each held the roster to help check it out.

About an hour later, the three of them completed the list.

All data is recorded in detail in a notebook.

Linden took his notebook and carefully checked whether anyone matched the target.

While recording data, the notebook also indicates which page of the roster these names come from.

On the original page of the roster, there is also a night watchman's ID photo next to the person's name.

"No, no, there is no one I'm looking for here."

Linden spent a long time sifting through the compiled list.

As a result, no one matched Catalina's appearance, not even her temperament.

Appearance can be greatly changed, but temperament is difficult.

No matter how much you cultivate your temperament, it will always retain its original taste.

Catalina's youthful vitality is too strong.

So much so that the general feeling of fatigue among the night watchmen seemed so gloomy and tired.

Maybe, my thinking is wrong?
