Chapter 1 How unlucky can it be?

shy is a large Internet company that can also rank among the top ten in China. There are nearly 10,000 related staff, and Xia Huamian is just one of these nearly 10,000 people.

Xia Huamian is affiliated to the new product research and development department. It usually works in R&D in Internet companies. Due to the overtime hours, most of these departments are male employees. As one of the few women in the department, they can only use the intensity of men's work. So far, Xia Huamian has been working overtime for three consecutive months.

During lunch break, Xia Huamian opened the company's email and confirmed the content of the email again. Although he had received the notice in advance, he couldn't help but sigh, "No, this project will be suspended for only half a year. This is too unlucky."

Seeing the person next door starting to clean up the work station and prepare for the transfer of work, and three days have passed since the notice and no one has contacted him yet, Xia Huamian couldn't help feeling uneasy. He opened WeChat and wanted to find someone to complain, but remembered that the boyfriend who could listen to his complaints had broken up last week.

My boyfriend, who had been in the previous company for two years, had an affair with the original assistant after he switched to this big company. After being discovered, he broke up with the excuse of "You have too strong work ability and feel that your salary is lower than you," and Xia Huamian only found it a bit ridiculous. Although he was regretful, he didn't want to keep it.

The company department made rectifications just a few days after the breakup. Xia Huamian thought that he would go to the temple to worship him next holiday.

Just as I was thinking, my phone suddenly rang. The landlord called me and said that the rent for the past six months had just been paid. I hurriedly grabbed my hands and found a conference room with no one.

Press the answer button, and before Huamian could speak, the landlord’s aunt’s loud voice came from the other side of the phone, “Huamian, where are you at work?”

Hua Mian subconsciously moved her phone outward

"Huamian, did you hear from the aunt that my son and his family went to the United States the year before yesterday? Two days ago, he contacted my aunt and asked me to go to retire early. The aunt thought about you little girls who had just renewed the rent for the year two months ago. The aunt just asked an agent to consult. If you sell the house, as long as the new owner agrees, you can still live until the contract is full..."

Suddenly, I couldn't hear what my aunt was saying. Xia Huamian felt that her mind was already in a mess. She forgot what she had replied. She returned to the workstation in a daze, sat down until she got off work, packed her bags and went home, and when she woke up, she was already off the subway and was walking back.

At 10:30 in the evening, there was almost no pedestrians on the road. The early spring night was still a little cool, and a few orange street lights looked a little warm. Xia Huamian just wanted to go back to his hut as soon as possible and buried a quilt in his hut and cried, so when he was walking through the intersection, he chose a secluded alley next to him. This was the first time this path was walking at night. Although the lights were not dimmed, it saved nearly half of the time than walking on the main road.

Today is the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar. There is no cloud in the sky at night. The full moon light shines in the alley, and the brightness is enough to travel.

I haven't noticed it during the day before. There are no doors and windows on both sides of this alley, only tall walls, and some withered plants hanging on the walls, which looks a bit like a horror movie.
