【993】Lecture topics
"There are 18 special lectures and two academic reports today, which is a little less than tomorrow. By the end of 6 pm, the lunch break will be about two hours."
"If there is a surgical demonstration at the special lecture, it will probably take a delay, and you may not be able to finish lunch."
"Do you have no confidence in the surgeons in the capital?"
"The surgery in the hepatobiliary surgery department is relatively long. If they start the surgery early in the hospital, we can't wait."
"If there is a demonstration surgery, will you watch it?"
"Look. But it depends on who did the surgery and what surgery."
Listening to these people's comments, it was similar to the estimate discussed in their department. Xie Wanying thought.
"I know Professor Hao from Juyang Hospital." A colleague suddenly pointed out one of the lectures.
“This is a lecture that starts at 8:30, and the topic is PTCD endotracheal radiotherapy.”
The bile duct stent is placed after percutaneous hepatobiliary drainage. It is mainly used in early stages such as pancreatic head cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, ampulla cancer, etc. Once discovered, it is middle- and late stage cancer patients. These patients also have a characteristic: high-collar and poor cardiopulmonary function, and cannot tolerate radical surgery, so they can only undergo palliative treatment.
This treatment method only relieves malignant bile tract obstruction caused by advanced cancer. However, the stent itself cannot inhibit tumor growth and will continue to grow along the stent of drainage to cause obstruction again. In order to keep the drainage unobstructed, doctors have thought of many ways to avoid stent obstruction. One of them was the first foreign transcatheter 192lr wire to undergo close radiotherapy in the bile duct in the 1980s.
192lr is the radioactive source iridium-192, and Ir is the nuclide symbol. It is a relatively mature technology for various close-range radiotherapy in the human cavity. First, it is widely used in human cancers, and then expanded to cholangiocarcinoma and tongue cancer. In the application of cervical cancer, it can be used as one of the treatments for tumor reduction before surgery. In hepatobiliary surgery, it is only used as advanced palliative treatment.
Palliative treatment is equivalent to having no long-term expectations for the survival of patients. Statistical data from various academic papers show that the survival period of patients with malignant biliary obstruction is generally only two months. If PTCD plus 192lr close-range radiotherapy is used, the patient's survival period can be extended to more than two years. The specific size depends on the tumor size. For patients with advanced cancer who can live one more day as long as they can live, it is still of significance.
The doctors discussed earlier decided to listen to Professor Hao's lecture on PTCD endotracheal radiotherapy. Xie Wanying followed him, mainly because she saw a lot of people going to the lecture. It can be seen that everyone's tendencies are basically the same.
The multimedia conference rooms in the hotel are basically renovated from small halls and small rooms. The area is not large. Some of them have only a hundred seats after entering. When they enter the conference room, they find that the front seats are full of people. Xie Wanying found a seat next to the back seat and sat down.
Just as they were next to the chair, two people came in at the door, and one of them noticed her figure and turned toward her.
"Is Xie Wanying?"
When Xie Wanying heard someone calling her name, she raised her head and the male doctor standing in front of her was tall, with a briefcase on her shoulder, and her face seemed to make her feel a little familiar.
