Chapter 11 Conversation at Eastern Restaurants (Part 1)

As soon as Dak and Wolfya stepped into the restaurant gate, a man wearing glasses, a long gown, a melon-shaped hat, a folding fan, and a pair of round glass glasses hanging on the bridge of his low nose.
He is the owner of this restaurant called "hot pot".
His face felt a little low, but when he saw the guest, he could barely squeeze out an extremely forced professional smile.
"What are you two?" The boss bowed and said in an especially standard Cruise German. This is the iconic etiquette of greeting people in the Fire Empire.
"Hotpot, I booked a seat last month, the innermost room on the minus first floor." Wolfya did not exchange too much greetings and went straight to the point.
Immediately afterwards, he pulled a white and blue hooded Mayang City Guard top, took out a card written in bilingually in the Fire Empire and Cruisede from the mezzanine of the inner pocket, and handed it to the man.
"Well, that's right, it's indeed my store's reservation card. Please move to the private room downstairs. Ms. 'Leige' has been waiting for you all day." The boss said, leading Wolfya and the others inward.
"'Lei Page', her news is very well-informed and knows that I'm coming. Could it be that she has people she knows in the strategic team? If this is the case, I should really seek a job in the capital." Wolfya joked halfway.
"Haha, Captain Wolfya, you have to talk to her in person." The boss smiled and agreed.
Walking through the restaurant hall with a particularly festive layout based on red, Wolfya followed the boss to clear the lanterns and walked along the wooden staircase that was cleaned very neatly, and walked towards the oriental corridor filled with red light.
Following the guide, Dak observed that the hand-woven "fire knot" hanging on the top of the corridor, with blessings, and the reddish walls were covered with "dragons" with very oriental styles.
Two children made of ceramics are placed on both sides of the corridor, nearly one meter tall. Their heads are surprisingly large, as strange as if they have edema. The white-bottomed face is portrayed with an extremely exaggerated smile, and their black eyes are staring at the top, like an owl flying low in the dark night, waiting for prey.
A pink watercolor was painted on the part of her face. Under the abnormal illumination of the red light, she "reflected" with a dark red oriental dress embroidered with golden silk threads, and a light red halo was shining.
After walking past the ceramic child, Dake couldn't help but feel palpitations. When he looked down, the two ceramic dolls seemed to be looking at him with extremely angry expressions, as if he was scolding him for invading the territory belonging to the East.
As the light gradually faded, darkness prevailed. With the residual redness, Wolfya and Dak finally arrived at the end of the corridor.
After talking in a low voice, the restaurant owner bowed his face and tapped three times in front of a small door made of solid wood, pasted a totem composed of a Fire Empire text.
A few seconds later, the deep voice of a mature woman came from inside:
"Please come in with our captain and his friends."
Walking into the room, Dark finally got rid of the indescribable slight fear brought by the red just now, and in exchange for the rare incandescent space illuminated by electrical lights.
At the greeting of the woman called "Thunder Page", Wolfya and Dak sat at a long western-style dining table covered with the bishop's pattern, facing the woman.
"Captain Wolfya, it seems that you are not very adaptable to the style of the Fire Empire." "Thunder Page" crossed his hands and hugged his chest, and said with a high tone.
"The style of Khitan Ris is always incomprehensible to me. The two civilizations were born in two separate fields, even in the Wasteland Era. Naturally, they are always new to me. Like me, I am not a person who likes to accept brand new unknowns." Wolfya explained with a smile.
However, "Leiye" did not take over the conversation, but glanced at Dake with affection, raised a smile on the corner of his mouth, and his purple eyes revealed his deep interest in him, and said softly:
"Is this your friend of the psychic, Dark little brother?"
"Of course, he is Dark Tyris, a 1-star federal soldier in the Terracotta, a psychic savvy who is proficient in the power of the water system's magic source, and a [warrior] who has experienced many battles." Wolfya said, and introduced to Dark again:
"This elder sister is from the Chaos Group and Order Society, codenamed 'Thunder Page'. Today you and I have the honor to have a Fire Empire-style lunch with her."
"'Thunder Page'... Hello... Madam." Dake said with some restraint.
He looked up at the woman in front of him, dressed in a witch, wearing an exaggerated triangular hat, and a purple corset that exposed her fair and smooth shoulders, but the opera-style animal fur shawl was placed on the seat because the temperature in the room was too high.
Sitting upright, Dark vaguely saw that the slender dress of "Lei Page" was actually a bit Cruiser-like. The hem of the skirt was dragged very long, with golden silk threads on the edges outlined the wheat pattern, and the inner part was embroidered with complex sunflower patterns with a very court-like charm.
"Dak Tillis." "Thunder Page" expression was not changed. He looked at Dak up and down with interest, his eyes reflected a teasing meaning, holding his chin with one hand and supporting the tabletop. His tone was gentle and a bit teasing:
"If my intelligence is not wrong, you are not only a friend of Wolfya, but also a member of the 'Special Task Team' in the Outer District of Mayang City. You have worked there for at least three years, facing countless extraordinary monsters, dark evil spirits, alien unintentional people, and many lost people who wander between humans and 'unintentional people', right?"
"That's right. However, Ms. Lei Page, it shouldn't be difficult to find this information, right?" Dake asked with caution and restraint when he had just met.
"Of course, our order will have hidden 'axes' in the Federation. They convey information in normal times and at the right time, they will play a role in tweaking the Federation's 'never-stop' machine and return to the track of [order] operation. I think, as a rank 6: inspiration level, you should easily understand these principles." "Thunder Page" sneered, and also abandoned the disguise when you first met.

In other words, there is some information absent in every "truth" I talked about.
"Are you the Lost?" Dark asked without any concealment.
As an army man, his keenness made him feel that the "thunder page" sitting opposite him was not as simple as the conversation between a few people.
"What do you think?" "Leiye" did not answer positively, but asked back.
"Just yesterday, we were caught by the rare 'unbody-burning man' halfway through the train. Behind him was a loser. During the battle, I seemed to have lost a little memory, but the bizarre dream ended one night. Until now, after my mood was relieved, I vaguely remembered that he was a blond child. Those lost people... are also hateful, and we psychics still have to take action." Dark also did not give a positive answer.
"Blonde...child?" "Thunder Page" looked up slightly, with a hint of uneasiness mixed in her tone. Her eyes quickly glanced to the right, and her heart suddenly slowed down.
But immediately, all her expressions returned to normal. She crossed her hands to the back of the seat and said slowly:
"Dak, little brother, has passed the long 557-year New Yuan period to this day. Are there any accurate definitions for the psychics and the lost ones?"
"Of course." Dark replied without hesitation.
Immediately afterwards, he saw a flash of disappointment in his eyes when he saw "Thunder Page". A few seconds later, she "refuted":
"In fact, this debate on identity positioning is similar to the complex evaluation of Ivan Twenty-II. In your eyes, he was the great emperor of Cruzd. In the era of "The Glory of the Double-Headed Eagle", he not only summarized the order of cards in official form, but also understood the laws of the operation of magic power in it, making it difficult to make mistakes in the identification of the upper-level professions. He also improved the power generation machinery introduced by the Federal Republic of Putoya, so that the empire's night breaks through the darkness and moves towards a brightly lit future."
"He also invented combat aircraft, formed the empire's first "Eagle" aerospace army, improved tanks, and produced them on a large scale, equipped them to enter the army, creating an army known as the "steel torrent". Relying on these, he set out from Nebsk, captured the entire territory of Ewentre, and then marched westward. His troops pointed directly at the capital of the Pusius Empire, Chekavsk, and once occupied several strongholds near the central lake, ready to launch steam ships to invade Putoya at any time."
"Similarly, he is an extraordinary person who is passionate about magic. The 'After Day Emblem' was created by him and was filled with the transcendent power of the [Order]. The period of Ivan Twenty-two was the turning point of the Cruzd Empire. Although he did not open a parliament, he was still a full dictatorship. However, the empire completely changed from the era of knights, which was dominated by swords to an era that almost surpassed the steam era and touched the threshold of the electrical era."
"Oh, by the way, the Chaos Group has assassinated him in the 'Winter Scarlet Palace' many times, but without exception, the assassins sent were sentenced to death and threw them into the 'Crazy Han Mountain' near the capital and allowed to be swallowed by the wild beasts."
"Leiye" said, paused for a moment, pursed his lips, showing a hint of regret, and said:
"But many people call it 'tyrants'. The war always supported the money. In the years when the battle with Eventry Lai was the most intense, countless farmers and handicraftsmen went bankrupt, and the empire's finances were almost collapsed. The dead soldiers were not buried, and the wailing of the innocent people who died in extraordinary experiments was endless."
"To this day, this great emperor has not been awarded any title by his descendants. Because he suppressed the Lord's Church, he did not receive any recognition from them. Even during the period of the empire's decline, people missed it, and the church did not posthumously award him any title of "King of So-and-so-god" or "God of So-and-so."
"So, Dark's little brother, the great emperor, cannot truly define whether he belongs to 'good' or 'evil'. How can you accurately judge friends and enemies between 'lost' and 'superpower'?"
