1114 Selling Ghosts

This is what my uncle said.

His comrade's grandfather was a gambler when he was young.

But his luck and his skills are both poor, or a bit worse.

Later, he ran out of money and had no choice but to hang out in the casino, say a few lucky words to the winning gamblers, or run errands and so on, and collect a few rewards to survive.

Once he met an old gambler. This old guy always won every bet. He gambled in the casino for three days in a row and stayed at the gambling table except for going to the bathroom.

When the old gambler left the casino on the third night, the young gambler followed him. His idea was simple: say a few nice words and ask for two dollars. The old gambler went out and turned to a restaurant next to the casino.

In a secluded alley, he lifted up his clothes and looked like he was about to let out some water. Suddenly his body shook a few times and he slowly collapsed to the ground. The young gambler

He walked up and found that the old gambler was dead. He was so frightened that he turned around and ran away. After running a few steps, he stopped again, pretended to be brave, walked over, and touched the old gambler all over his body. Strange, where was the money he won?

In the end, he only touched something the size of a water chestnut, like a compass. After touching for a long time, he only found this thing. The gambler was very angry.

He walked back dejectedly, walked under the street lamp, took out the water chestnut compass, and saw that the pointer on the compass kept expanding and contracting in one direction. He was curious, didn't the pointer of the compass spin in circles? What does expansion and contraction mean? He asked

Go in that direction.

He walked out of the town, crossed the river, and arrived at a pine forest. In the distance, he saw a man hanging on the tree. Hanged man! His head was banged up, and he continued the previous procedure: turned around and ran, and then came back after running a few steps.

What if there was something on the Hanged Man? He bravely went over and stretched out his free left hand.

Upon touching it, he found that the hanging man was still a little hot, and there was still hope for help. He stretched out his right hand, trying to help the man pull out the rope. As soon as the compass in his right hand came into contact with the man, the man's body trembled.

The gambler put him down to see that he was hopeless. The gambler still found no money on the man.

A few days later, the gambler stayed up all night in the casino again. When he was about to go home and sleep, a man who looked like a fortune teller stopped him. This man wanted to discuss business with the gambler! Only then did the gambler realize that the compass was used.

They came to collect souls, specifically collecting ghosts who were about to die in vain. The two quickly reached an agreement, and the gambler

Providing ghosts, as a reward, the fortune teller gave him good luck. The gambler proposed to try it for a few days, and the fortune teller agreed with a smile. Of course, the gambler's luck was surprisingly good these days, and he secretly rejoiced, thanks to me getting this

Compass, otherwise fortune tellers produce and sell their own goods, how can I make a fortune?

From then on, in addition to going to casinos, gamblers would go everywhere to find out what happened. Fortunately, wars were frequent in China at that time, and gamblers were so courageous that they even went to the battlefields after the war to look for goods. This lasted for three years. The life of a gambler

Life was so satisfying until one day he met a Taoist priest on the street.

The Taoist priest stopped the gambler and said, "You only have three days to live. Why are you still thinking of harming others?" The gambler thought that the Taoist priest was playing tricks with him and ignored him. The Taoist priest took out a mirror and said, "Look at it." Gambler

Looking in the mirror, he saw that it was the scene of the old gambler's death, followed by how he met the fortune teller and how he went around collecting ghosts. The scenes were so clear that the gambler was scared.

The gambler asked a Taoist priest to save him. The Taoist priest said that the ghosts were seeking their own death, but instead of saving them when they were about to die, you urged them to die and bring peace to the world. Besides, your good luck is actually a fortune-telling.

In exchange for your longevity, you think you are selling ghosts to make a profit, but in fact you are just a fortune teller.

It's just cargo. No one can save you, so go back and prepare for the funeral. The gambler cried, but the Taoist priest didn't care. He just stretched out his hand and took the compass from his arms. He put it on the ground, muttered something in his mouth, and pulled out the sword on his back.

With one finger, there was a flash of fire, and the compass turned into ashes. The Taoist priest floated away. The people in the town were dumbfounded.

The gambler had no choice but to go home and prepare for his own funeral. His relatives all laughed at him, but he didn't care. He only approached a brother from the clan and offered to adopt his son. His brother was a greedy gambler and had money, so he agreed immediately. Secondly

The gambler held a banquet and took the child home. This child was the father of my uncle's comrade-in-arms.
