Chapter 2 Burning Prophecy
The light penetrated the wall between the chapel and the library, and shot out from the ceiling of the library. The violent wind took away the flames. In an instant, only the burning objects in the two rooms were red and hot and shiny like charcoal. Jonah touched a book through the hole in the wall based on his memory, picked it up, turned around and ran outward, and stumbled towards the direction of the gate. Gradually, his perception recovered. He heard the sharp whistling of the wind pouring into the library again, and he rushed forward with all his might.
Like Redstone Castle, the Royal and Anglican Library, which had a history of 150 years, had 35,000 books and 12,000 scrolls, shook slightly, and then flames burst out from the gaps between the doors, windows and roofs. Jonah was blown away fifteen feet and smashed to the ground. When he barely opened his eyes, the outline of the world gradually reflected in his dazzling vision, the library burned like a straw stack with oil, and then collapsed silently.
With a bang, the black crystal on his belt shattered, symbolizing that the star array carved on it had collapsed, and the heat waves were rushing. Jonah seemed to hear his hair being scorched and curled. He moved hard to the building opposite the street that had not yet caught fire. More than half of the black cover book in his hand had been burned away. When the hot wind blew, the ashes drifted away in the wind, and only two and a half of the broken seals were spared under the protection of the back cover.
Jona shook off the ashes with heartache, carefully rolled the broken seal into a paper roll and stuffed it into a roll sleeve that he carried, and stuffed it into a deer-skin bag. Then, due to his weak body, violent movement and impact of the ground, he coughed violently.
This book has no name.
About five or six years ago, shortly after the invaders of the Zave Empire opened the gates of Saint-Boren, Jona found it on a small dusty bookshelf in the library's church library.
There are about thirty rooms in the library, of which the works after the Renaissance account for the vast majority, divided into categories such as religion, magic, astrology, mathematics, society, literature, art, etc.; the church library is specially used to collect ancient books before the Renaissance movement, mostly religious documents, and few people have been interested in it in recent years.
One evening, when the silver candlestick in the library was lit, Yona walked into the library, as if under the guidance of some force, he walked to the corner, pulled out the big book and gently brushed away the dust on it.
Because the war began, most of the Episcopal staff in the library had been summoned, and no one disturbed the purity of the night; Yona held a candlestick in his hand and sat in a cherry wood armchair, turned on the first page of the heavy book, without the title, and a line of smooth round characters written on the slightly yellowed papyrus: The beginning is the end. - Segles the betrayer.
A drop of candle tears fell next to the signature, making the three words "betrayer" particularly eye-catching. Yona put the candlestick on the bookshelf and wiped away the stain.
This book talks about history, ancient history, and even came out earlier than the era. In Segles' book, there are no creators, no gods, and only the natural reproduction of the fire of human civilization, which makes Jonah feel very novel. This anti-religious book was found in the church's library.
When he came to the library to study astrology, he always had to take time to stay in the church library for a while and read this nameless book signed by the "Teller". Such a rebellious thought must be regarded as a heresy by the Anglican Church. This book has been more than thirty years old. I wonder if the author was persecuted by the church and whether he is still alive? It is really a big and small irony to be forgotten in the church.
A few months before the fall of Redstone Castle, Jonah read all the history, which was 2270 years ago, five years before the Renaissance movement. After turning over a piece of papyrus, the smooth round characters came to an abrupt end. The paper was painted with an unsatisfactory talisman and a bright red stamp of the Anglican Church: it was judged by the Inquisition and sealed. Below is the handwritten signature of the priest of the parish at that time.
Jonah sighed, probably because the author had deprived his freedom of writing this time by the Episcopal Church. He turned back a few pages boredly, and unexpectedly, after five or six pages blank, the round characters appeared again, and were written a bit sloppy, but there was no doubt that it was the author's handwriting:
"On July 15, Ayala came to the exile land and planted seven wild strawberries seeds before sunset."
The following content is like a diary or a stage play style. Jonah flipped through several pages, from the church seal to the back cover, and wrote dozens of pages. He read some of them casually, but didn't understand them very much, so he threw the book down. He took the time to look at the previous historical parts and proved them with the world he knew and unknown.
Until today, when Redstone Castle was broken.
"On October 5, the sun was pierced by a sharp sword. They gathered together and could not see each other, but could only see the sky and heels." This sentence was seen by chance at that time, and left in the depths of memory. If it were not for the moment when the captives of the former square guards were beheaded, Jonah might not have been able to discover the secret of this book in his life. - The second half of the book, which seems to be a nonsense, was actually a prophecy of the future!
Yona coughed for a while, and stroked the deerskin bag containing the broken pages of the prophecy, and fell into confusion.
When will the remaining two and a half pages of prophecy happen? Is it a future that he cannot see in his life, or a near future?
Who is the "betrayer" and why can he predict the future?
Now, the five major guild systems, whether religion, mathematics or magic, regard prophecy as impossible. The Anglicans believe that everything is decided by the Holy Lord, who has already decided, but people in the world cannot know the Holy Lord's decision.
The Mathematical Society hopes to interpret the rules of the world with formulas, and they claim that they have not yet discovered a formula for predicting the future. Astrology is said to have prophetic power in ancient times, but modern astrology focuses on studying the expression of star power through magic circles, that is, the storage and application of star power. The research directions of Jonah himself and Duranca's mentors are the same.
The profession of "Prophet" has never appeared before and now, but now Jonah knows that his deer-skin bag contains two and a half pages of real prophecies, which can not only affect his future, but may even affect the world.
With a messy mood, Yona left the burning Redstone Fort. He walked out of the collapsed city gate. The smell of blood, burnt smell, the roar of the invaders and the wail of the survivors gradually faded away. In front of him, the vast red earth plain in the setting sun was quiet and silent.
He decided to look back and take a last look at the miracle building that was about to disappear from the world, rising in the center of the plain, built with the strongest red stone of the western mountains, a symbol of the three hundred feet of the Saint-Boren dynasty, although since becoming an apprentice of the Astrology, the country has no substantial connection with him.
He turned around and saw a steel-made ground dragon cavalry lance nailed above the city gate. A yellow ribbon was tied to the rifle, and a head was tied under the ribbon. The noble head of Her Majesty Wenger III, the beloved Queen of the St. Boren Dynasty, was not torn off her snow-white veil in order to give this merciful ruler who loves literature and art. The veil was slightly stained with blood and fluttered in the wind, like a flag. Her Majesty closed her eyes and looked peaceful.
The invaders of the Zavi Empire began to completely wash away and burn the Red Stone Fort. The residents escaped from the burning city and fought tenaciously in the war. After the city was broken, the people of Saint-Boren, who looked calm, collapsed when they looked up and saw their beloved queen.
The woman and the old man knelt on the ground, put their hands together and began to cry. The Anglican Requiem prayer gradually sounded in the crowd, and the name of the Holy Lord and the God of Painting Sila was recited for the last time.
Jonah bit her lip tightly, dared not look again, and left quickly.
Three hours later, he returned to the astrology tower.
The astrological tower in the night sky is like an eternal giant pillar that is quaint and majestic. "Always have awe. - Gilberto Gilberneon" This motto is shining in the dark.
Jonah completely relaxed, suddenly felt a huge sadness completely enveloped him. The destruction of St. Boren destroyed all he knew in the world. From then on, all he had was astrology, the distant night sky, and two and a half pages of prophecy about the distant future.
So he sat down on the cold redstone floor with a gurgle, hugging his dirty deer leather bag, and burst into tears.
After all, he was just a sixteen-year-old child.
