Chapter 204: Underworld Miserable

Zhao Waner said quietly: "This Mu Lian Bodhisattva is so filial. Hey, I just pity my poor father. I want to imitate Mu Lian Bodhisattva. No matter how much it costs or how much effort I put in, I will let his soul escape Qianling."

Seal it, rest in peace, and be reincarnated again."

Li Bing looked at Zhao Waner firmly and said comfortingly: "Wan'er, don't worry, we will definitely solve the mystery of Qianling, so that your father's soul will no longer suffer from the seal."

Li Bing wanted to lighten the atmosphere and asked in a relaxed manner: "Wan'er, do you like eating black rice?"

Zhao Waner was startled, then realized: "Li Bing, are you talking about the black rice eaten on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month every year? Oh, it really doesn't take long before you can have black rice. I like it very much. It's sweet and glutinous.

. Just mentioning it to you almost makes me hungry to death."

According to folk custom, the leaves of a shrub called Wufanlu or Wufancaotou picked from the mountains are boiled in a pot or mashed with a stone mortar, and then the black juice is mixed into glutinous rice and soaked.

Later, when the scriptures are cooked over fire, they become black rice, which is fragrant and delicious and greatly increases people's appetite.

Li Bing also pursed his lips and continued: "There are many folk legends about the origin of Wufan, and one of the most widely circulated ones is related to Mulian Bodhisattva."

"It is said that Mulian Bodhisattva learned from the Buddha that his mother was suffering in the underworld because of disrespecting the monks during her lifetime. The filial Mulian often sent food to his mother, but every time he sent it, he was eaten by many hungry ghosts on the road to the underworld.

And Guang, the ghost of Mu Lian’s mother can’t eat it at all.”

"The extremely wise Mulian Bodhisattva went to the mountain to collect black rice grass, soaked it into black water, cooked rice and sent it to the underworld. When the ghosts in the underworld saw that the rice was black, they thought it was poisonous and did not dare to eat it. Only then did Mulian's mother

Being able to eat it relieves the suffering of hungry ghosts."

"Buddha saw Mu Lian acting filial piety in this way, so he predicted that Mu Lian would be Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, the leader of the underworld, who rules over the underworld. He, Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, and Samantabhadra are collectively known as the four great Bodhisattvas. Especially Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva

, is even more compassionate. He made a great wish: If hell is not empty, he will never become a Buddha; only by saving all sentient beings can he realize the true fruition!"

Shi Liya asked with some confusion: "Li Bing, are you right? I have been to Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui, which is the monastery of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. They say that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is Jin Jueluo, the prince of Goryeo who came to China to seek Buddhism. In the end,

He attained true enlightenment in Mount Jiuhua, and people in the Buddhist sect call him the Golden Ksitigarbha."

Li Bing smiled and said: "Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have supreme supernatural powers and have many dharma bodies and incarnations. Whether it is Mu Lian or Jin Ksitigarbha, they are all Ksitigarbha Bodhisattvas."

Although Zhao Waner and others did not quite understand what Li Bing said, they were also amazed.

Unknowingly, several people came to the Naihe Bridge. Legend has it that when the dead come here, the guilty ghosts will be pushed into the blood river pool by the bull-headed and horse-faced faces on both sides and tortured by insects, ants and poisonous snakes, while the dead who have done good deeds can cross the bridge safely. This Naihe Bridge,

According to folklore, it is the only place where ghosts must pass through before being reincarnated after being judged by the Ten Palaces of Yama. There is a Meng Po beside the bridge. She will give each ghost who crosses the bridge a bowl of Meng Po soup to forget the memories of the past life and facilitate reincarnation in the next life.

A generation.

When they arrive at the Naihe Bridge, tourists and pilgrims will throw paper money or copper plates into the Wangchuan River, and scatter fried rice into the Wangchuan River, doing good deeds and giving alms to hungry ghosts to accumulate good fortune. Tourists also basically like to walk across the Naihe Bridge to take their meaning.

Having walked across this bridge during your lifetime, you can avoid the pain of crossing the Naihe Bridge after your death.

There is no bridge, no parting in the past life, no meeting in this life, no reunion in the next life.

The Naihe Bridge has a bluestone deck and five steps. The west of the bridge is for women and the east of the bridge is for men. The left is yin and the right is yang. "If someone dies at the age of ninety-seven, he will wait for three years on the Naihe Bridge." In fact, looking back for a thousand years, a hundred years

The agreement they made was all due to drinking Meng Po soup by the Naihe Bridge. Perhaps the love between husband and wife in this life began and ended here.

Zhao Waner, who was originally cheerful and lively, turned out to be a little depressed at this time, and said quietly: "Li Bing, if the five of us die in the future, no one is allowed to drink that Meng Po's soup. We must remember you all forever."

Everyone was silent and deeply moved by Zhao Waner's kind heart.

Several people looked back almost at the same time, staring at the Naihe Bridge they had just passed.

After passing the Jade Emperor Hall, everyone knelt down to worship the Jade Emperor, the main god of the three realms, and then came to the Baizi Hall.

In the Baizi Hall, the one enshrined in the center is Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, the one riding a lion on the right is Manjushri Bodhisattva, and the one riding a six-tusked white elephant on the left is Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. On both sides are sculptures of the Twelve Enlightenments. On the back wall is a sculpture of Tang Monk who went to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures and experienced the Eighty-one Difficulties

scene.

Beside the door are statues of the Dharma protector Wei Tuo and a group of three generations of ancestors and grandsons. Pilgrims offer incense here to thank the Buddha and Bodhisattva for blessing the women of hundreds of families with safe and smooth childbirth and the healthy growth of children of hundreds of families.

When he arrived at the Wuchang Hall, Zhang Yuanshan stood in awe of the ferocious-looking black and white Wuchang, and worshiped again and again.

There are two statues of Black Wuchang and White Wuchang in the Hall of Wuchang. The black Wuchang is dressed in green and has a green hat. He has ferocious eyes and gnashing teeth, and a ferocious appearance. The words "Peace under Heaven" written on the top hat make people tremble with fear. He carries an iron chain and specializes in arresting evil people in the world.

.

Bai Wuchang, on the other hand, is dressed in white clothes and a white hat, with kind eyebrows and kind eyes, and a smile on his face. The words on his hat say "make money at first sight", which makes people feel friendly and approachable. He waves a cattail leaf fan in his hand to welcome the souls of good people back to the underworld.

After Zhang Yuanshan paid homage to Black and White Impermanence, he read in his mouth: "If impermanence comes once, the sword tree and the mountain of swords will not let her go. Black and White Impermanence captures the good and evil ghosts separately. Ghosts are just like people, they are also divided into good and evil!"

After everyone knelt down and worshiped the Third Buddha in the Main Hall, they walked through the gate of hell, stepped on the road to hell, and came to the Wangxiang Terrace.

It is said that after a person dies and before reporting to the underworld, the ghost misses his relatives in the underworld very much. Although the ghost soldiers sternly reprimanded him, he still forced himself to climb the Wangxiang Tower, looked at his hometown in the distance, cried loudly, and then went to the underworld with all his heart.

As the saying goes, "On the stage where I look at my hometown, there are ghosts and ghosts in panic, and my eyes are filled with tears. My wife, children, old and young are leaning against the coffin, and my relatives and friends are gathering in the mourning hall."

Several people came here with mixed feelings in their hearts, lamenting that life is impermanent and short.

After visiting many sights such as the Palace of Hell, the Yin and Yang Realm, the Eighteen Levels of Hell and the Temple of Wealth, it was getting late, so everyone left the scenic spot and returned to the hotel where they stayed.

Looking at the busy street scene, the group of five people gradually became more relaxed, and the psychological shock caused by the miserable horror of visiting a ghost town was gone.

Li Bing said to himself: "Does this trip mean that we have understood the meaning of 'land' among the three talents?"

Zhang Yuanshan shook his head and said: "In my opinion, it's unlikely. I haven't solved the word "human" yet, how can I pass the "di" level first? Besides, the ghost town attractions are all artificially built based on folklore. To solve the word "di"

, I don’t think it’s that simple. Li Bing, don’t you know the answer if you see if the other three red spots on your chest have disappeared?”

Li Bing realized this and hurriedly pulled open his shirt to expose his chest, only to see the three red dots clearly visible.
