Chapter 169 The Kitchen

"Hey, what are you doing here? The coffee seems to have gone cold." Jacques stood at the door of the kitchen and asked when he saw Lucia leaning sideways and lowering her head slightly, with a worried look on her face.

"Oh, damn!" Lucia said: "You're here? She seems to have left."

"Yes, I seem to have felt her leaving." Jacques walked into the kitchen and said, "Her voice has almost disappeared."

"Didn't she and the priest start a fight?" Jacques asked Lucia, because the location of the kitchen would make it easier to hear.

Lucia shook her head slowly: "No, I heard her getting a little aggressive. She was probably stopped by the priest. She wanted to attack the priest's students because of something else."

"Lucia, don't worry about this for now. You have to think about how to deal with the cold coffee." Jacques looked at the coffee.

"Jacques, it's okay, the coffee has gone cold. It's just like my mood when I first saw her." Lucia was about to pour the coffee away.

"Wait a minute, don't waste it, you can make two more cups." Jacques thought: "In this way, one cup for you, one cup for me, and we will drink them all."

Lucia was a little timid, and then she was stunned for a moment: "What? You will be discovered this way, Jacques, my Lord Sheriff."

Jacques picked up the quilt and had already finished the drink. He drank it all in one gulp: "It's very good. You can try it. You will fall in love with its taste."

Jacques put down the cup and stared at Lucia's squirming look and asked, "What, do you want to let it cool down completely?"

"No, no, no, Jacques, I have never drunk this stuff. It is very bitter." Lucia refused the taste of coffee.

Jacques didn't believe that she hadn't tasted it secretly. Then Jacques looked at her eyes, which were surprisingly bright, and then looked at her whole body.

"Seriously, how did you grow so big?"

"Ah, I don't know." Lucia was a little confused about what Jacques asked: "I was very young when I came here, and I had been exposed to many beautiful things from those nobles, but I had not experienced them myself."

Lucia felt Jacques's eyes staring in front of her for a long time, and she vaguely understood the meaning of what she just said.

"Jacques, I respect you because you are the Sheriff of New Orleans. I have seen you in the slave market. This is what they told me, including your integrity and your kindness." Lucia intentionally dodged aside.

.

Jacques swallowed subconsciously: "Thank you, you are beautiful, it is even more beautiful."

"Thank you for your compliment." Lucia bowed towards Jacques, and then deliberately avoided his direct gaze on her.

"Jacques, I'm just the priest's servant." Lucia reminded Jacques, probably wanting him to know that if the priest knew about this, he would be kicked out.

"Lucia, this is normal. I think I am admiring your beauty." Jacques drank another cup of coffee and smacked his lips.
