Chapter 181 Temporary Changes
Mir and Cyril stayed at Gaynor's house until midnight and then left.
Before leaving, Mir repeatedly told Walter Lu to just monitor the house opposite and not to arrest anyone he saw, so as not to alert the enemy.
Mir then told Gaynor, asking him to watch Walter Roux. If Walter Roux did not listen to his orders and made his own decisions, Gaynor could get him drunk until dawn.
After saying goodbye to Gaynor, Mir was about to take the carriage back to the New Orleans Hotel when Mir saw Marcos in front of him.
He asked Cyril to wait here for a while, or to get him out of sight of Gaynor's house for a while.
Cyril asked curiously: "Mr. Detective Edward, are you trying to do something? Let's see if that person is the real murderer?"
"Cyril, please don't inquire about this matter. Just find a place to wait for me. I will tell you the reason when I come back." After saying this, Mir quickly walked towards Marcos.
Cyril stared blankly at Mir's back, unable to figure out Mir's plan for a while. He thought that Mir could never be the murderer, so why did he want to meet that guy.
Then he stopped thinking randomly and drove the carriage to the road ahead according to Mir's request to wait for Mir to come back.
In the darkness, Mil walked towards Marcos with hurried steps, which surprised Marcos very much.
Mir approached Marcos and asked directly: "Why did you come here just now?"
"I'm sorry, sir." Marcos looked around and said softly: "I just asked Laura."
"Oh, that's right, I thought you wouldn't come over." Mir did not continue to blame: "The plan has temporarily changed."
"What? I'm not going in?" Marcos said, pointing to the house.
"No." Mir shook his head and said, "Your plan is proceeding normally, but a few things have changed temporarily."
"Sir, please speak."
Mir touched his arms, and then he took out a Sheshier scimitar: "Take this, I asked you to come to me to pick it up tomorrow morning. I will give it to you now."
Marcos took the knife and stroked the blade and handle: "Ottoman Sheschl scimitar?"
"Yes, there are three types of this kind of knife. No matter which three types, the curvature of the scimitar is basically the same. Only the position design of the handle is slightly different." Mir explained: "This is what I saw at Inspector Louis' place.
What I got is a new knife, and I want to find a way to make it look a little older."
"Besides, you can ask your boss for leave tomorrow morning."
Marcos asked in surprise: "Ah? Why?"
"From now on you are the murderer, so you can't show up tomorrow." Mir leaned closer and said: "Don't show up all day and all night tomorrow. You have to think about your escape route tonight. I will send someone
To arrest you, you'd better find a hidden place, you only need to hide for one day."
“By the way, you didn’t tell Laura about this, right?”
Marcos immediately replied: "No, sir, don't you believe me?"
"It's not that I don't believe you, I just don't believe Laura. I'm worried that you can't resist all kinds of temptations and say things you shouldn't say. I hope you can understand me, Marcos."
"Sir, you have to know that I'm thinking of ways to leave her all the time, even leaving the New Orleans Hotel. I'm tired of everything here."
Marcos must tell his true identity. He wants Mir to trust him from now on. Since he agreed to join the detective team, he has long wanted to say these things in his heart.
"Yes, I understand, otherwise you wouldn't have chosen to join us." Mir simply comforted Marcos. He felt that Marcos's mood was very unstable: "Don't worry, we will go find the murderer tomorrow if we catch him."
Take a vacation somewhere to celebrate your victory."
"Thank you sir, I will obey your order."
"I need to create some public opinion tomorrow morning, and you have to run away before I can create public opinion."
Marcos looked at Mir and asked: "Sir, what time is it about?"
"Eight o'clock in the morning, on time." Mir told him the way Marcos could leave the house: "Before eight o'clock, you jump from the window of the storage room upstairs, which will allow you to escape. Try to get out as early as possible.
Run out so no one else sees you."
Marcos nodded and said, "Okay, sir."
Mir raised his arm and pointed at the house diagonally opposite and said: "There is a man from the police station inside at this time, watching you here. I asked him to come."
Marcos looked in the direction of Mir's finger: "Spy on me?"
"Yes, don't worry. I have already told him that I will not act without authorization. You can stay in the house without any worries." Mir had to tell Marcos about this, and he said in a different way: "It is also for the sake of better understanding."
Good to keep you safe."
Marcos probably understood what Mill meant: "Sir, does he refer to your most critical witness for creating public opinion?"
Marcos's words surprised Mir. Mir didn't expect Marcos to be so smart.
"That's right." Mir said with a smile: "He will correct you tomorrow, and he will send people to arrest you. Remember my words, don't show up within 24 hours tomorrow."
"Now there's one more thing."
"Sir, your order."
"I asked you to tell me tomorrow morning about the rooms where Thabit lived, but you don't have to tell me," Mir said.
"I've found it, that's what I wanted to say." Marcos was very surprised.
"It's not important anymore." Mir waved his hand and said, "I found a new person who can replace the victim."
Mir continued: "His identity can better attract the attention of the murderer. I am sure that the real murderer will appear tomorrow."
"While creating public opinion, his identity will be leaked at the same time. We will start doing our best to arrest him tomorrow."
Marcos was finally relieved. From the beginning to the end, he was still worried about what he would do if his identity was really confirmed as the murderer. If things didn't go well tomorrow, even the superior would not be able to do anything.
To clarify, he is very aware of the methods commonly used in the French Region Police Station to extract confessions.
"Okay, sir." Marcos asked tentatively, "Can I know who he is?"
"You know this man, Cyril Stuart," Mill replied.
"Oh, no, how could it be him? I don't understand, sir." Marcos said excitedly: "Sir, Cyril belongs to Laura, and you seem to have been deceived by him."
"I know, but he is going to atone for his crimes, and I need the right person." Mir glanced behind him, and he chose to say in Marcos's ear: "We are just using each other, I never believed it.
Live up to what he said."
