Preface - Self-Assessment
Hello friends, starting from today I will use humorous language to show you a different Zhu Yuanzhang.
Before reading this book, I would like to make a statement: I am not a professor or scholar who specializes in the study of history, nor an organization that specializes in the study of the Ming Dynasty. I am just an ordinary person who loves history, likes ancient figures, and prefers to joke and laugh.
Personally, I particularly hate the old-fashioned language of many historical authors, which is like classical Chinese. Every time I read that kind of article, I always feel sleepy as soon as I read it, and I feel like falling asleep after reading it again. Then I throw the book aside and never read it again.
Read it a second time. I personally think that history can be written in another way, a very relaxed and funny way. History itself also has a lot of fun, and many stories in history can make us happy in our tense and boring work life.
Put on a smile.
Before talking about this period of history, let me first give it a relatively appropriate evaluation from my personal perspective.
I evaluate Zhu Yuanzhang as: He is not a good person, but he is a good emperor.
This evaluation is just my personal opinion of him. If you disagree, you can leave me a message in the "Discussion Forum" and we can discuss it together.
If calculated based on the evaluation standard of 10 points, I would give him an 8 points.
I think this score is appropriate and reasonable for him.
Here I would like to mention another person for comparison. Many experts and scholars will also compare his deeds with Zhu Yuanzhang.
He is the founding emperor of the Western Han Dynasty: Han Gaozu, Liu Bang.
Since it is a comparison, I will also give Liu Bang a score in my mind. I will give him a 7.
I think Liu Bang's deeds are far less tortuous than Zhu Yuanzhang's, let alone as exciting as Zhu Yuanzhang's. I don't mean to belittle Liu Bang here, and I hope you don't misunderstand.
The difference between the two is mainly reflected in the following aspects.
First: his origin!
Zhu Yuanzhang is a true grassroots emperor. He is absolutely self-made. His step-by-step experiences and setbacks are far more thrilling than Liu Bang's.
Although Liu Bang claimed to be self-made, everyone who knows Liu Bang's experience knows that before Liu Bang rebelled, he had served as an official in the Qin Dynasty. Although he was just a pavilion chief in Surabaya and a mediocre official, at least he was still an official.
The imperial court also has a resume. From this aspect, Liu Bang should know some official routines and rules.
From this point of view, Zhu Yuanzhang cannot be compared at all, because Zhu Yuanzhang has been herding sheep for landlords since he was a child, and later he was so depressed that he begged for food and became a monk. His biggest dream in life was just to marry a wife and have children, and wait for the children to grow up.
As long as he was herding sheep for small landowners, he would have enough food to eat and find work, and he would not hesitate to make others uncomfortable in order to sleep well. As for becoming an emperor, it had nothing to do with him.
Second: Official rules!
Zhu Yuanzhang, a monk who became a monk on the way, finally became a monk. As a person who did not understand political rules at all, let alone official routines, he was able to manage the country in an orderly manner and compile a country's laws and regulations almost perfectly.
Many legal clauses are still used in modern and contemporary laws. This almost legendary deed is incomparable to Liu Bang. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Liu Bang had no intention of rewriting the laws. He just used the laws that were useful in the Qin Dynasty.
Just copy it and use it without any logical changes or substantive innovations.
Third, the courage and courage to kill the hero!
After Liu Bang established the Han Dynasty, he did kill some of the founding heroes, but compared to the number and intensity of Zhu Yuanzhang's killings, he easily involved tens of thousands of people and killed ten tribes (you can see clearly, it is ten tribes, but
Liu Bang probably did not have the guts to kill with such intensity as the Nine Clans. But Zhu Yuanzhang did. This grassroots emperor did. He had the guts and the courage to do so.
In the eyes of Zhu Yuanzhang, there is no one who cannot be killed and no official who cannot be slaughtered. He was smiling all the time one second, but in the blink of an eye he can kill tens of thousands of people. The balance of killing and killing all depends on him.
To be decisive, this kind of approach is far from comparable to that of Liu Bang.
Of course, after Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne, he did make many wrong decisions. For example, he personally created the "Four Major Cases of the Early Ming Dynasty" in the early Ming Dynasty. Millions of innocent souls died under his sword. He also
He single-handedly founded Jinyiwei, and then his son established two notorious factories (East Factory and West Factory) in Jinyiwei. Hundreds of thousands of people died under these three units. From a humane perspective, he is so
There is indeed a wrong side to doing it.
But I feel that understanding history is not just about humanity. In the eyes of politicians, the most important thing is often their own interests. In the face of interests, anyone with anything that blocks the acquisition of interests can be killed.
, considering this aspect, there is nothing wrong with Zhu Yuanzhang doing this.
From the perspective of killing heroes, Zhu Yuanzhang's actions were not absolutely wrong.
In the early years of the founding of the Ming Dynasty, almost all the generals who served under Zhu Yuanzhang could be regarded as the founding heroes. Which one of them was not an executioner with great military exploits, and which one was not a living king of hell who was arrogant, bloodthirsty, and capable of commanding the heroes?
, if these people were alone on the battlefield, they would definitely be able to fight one against ten, and one against a hundred brave generals.
But the battlefield and the officialdom are essentially two completely different systems, with two different sets of game rules.
For a country that is gradually becoming stable and has formed a basic framework and structure, the brutal war has passed. For a country that is full of holes, the most important and urgent thing now is to organize the people to resume production. But for Wu Chen
It is said that they have developed an arrogant character on the battlefield and are simply unable to manage the country, let alone the recovery and production of the labor force. Their presence will only cause a lot of chaos, and even form cliques for selfish purposes, and finally raise troops to rebel.
Conquering the world depends on military ministers, and governing the world still relies on civil servants.
From this aspect, it was inevitable for Zhu Yuanzhang to kill them.
His purpose in doing this is not only to restore and develop the country that has been abandoned for a long time as quickly as possible, and to prevent a series of crises that endanger national security, such as cliques for personal gain and conspiracy to commit fraud, but also to lay a solid foundation for his descendants of the Zhu family.
The solid political foundation and healthy political environment are to satisfy Zhu Yuanzhang's huge political ambitions, so that the Ming Dynasty regime ruled by him and his children and grandchildren under the huge Zhu family system can be passed down from generation to generation and to millions of people.
Year.
Under this kind of psychological influence that can be said to be far-sighted and somewhat whimsical, Zhu Yuanzhang killed heroes and officials wantonly. Although he took the initiative, he also had his helplessness.
It is also because of this consideration that my originally relatively low rating for him gradually improved.
After troubled times, heavy codes must be used.
This sentence may be the most appropriate to apply to him.
Okay, enough nonsense, let us all join hands to get to know this great man again.
