Chapter 33: The Bloodline of the Tribunal

In the first wave of attacks, Cass escaped at the cost of three wounds on his body.

Years of combat experience allowed him to avoid injuries to vital parts. Although the three deep wounds were bleeding, they would not affect his combat effectiveness in a short period of time.

He quickly distanced himself from the skeletons.

Although the narrow terrain in the tunnel prevented him from taking full advantage of the giant sword in his hand, it also prevented him from facing more than two enemies at a time.

Although those skeletons shrouded in mist looked strange, they were no more than a single enemy in front of him. Cass suspected that even if he didn't swing hard, the weight of the black iron giant sword alone would be enough to scatter them.

It became one place.

The trouble is that after they are broken up, it doesn't take long for them to regroup and continue to attack him relentlessly.

Rather, it is precisely because of the fragile and unstable connection between their bones that the power of each of his attacks was lightly removed, as if he punched smoke.

In this case, he can only scatter the enemies, but cannot smash them into bone powder that cannot be recovered.

If you continue to consume like this, sooner or later your physical strength will be exhausted by these skeletons that cannot be killed no matter how hard you kill them.

Thinking of this, Cass took a deep breath and looked at the half-human, half-spider monster.

It's better to ignore those mindless monsters and kill the guy who's been watching the show next to him.

Cass assessed the situation.

He didn't believe that the monster's head could be put back together even if it was cut off.

After visually checking the width of the passage, Cass swung the giant sword as much as possible without flicking the sword. The skeleton that stood between him and the spider monster was smashed into pieces.

He jumped directly over the fragments that had reassembled and rushed forward to fight with the spider monster.

The chitinous bone blade and the black iron giant sword kept colliding in the dark tunnel, creating sparks, and the sound of "ping bang" could be heard endlessly. Occasionally, there would be crisp sounds of bone cracking and muffled hums interspersed.

"clang!"

There was another collision, and Cass, whose breath was already a little disordered, couldn't help but take half a step back, and the tiger's mouth that was holding the sword hilt was numb from the shock.

However, before he could take a breath, the two skeletons shrouded in mist behind him reorganized their bodies and attacked him.

The narrow space in the tunnel prevented him from cutting the two skeletons in half with a backhand sword. He had no choice but to turn around, first turning sideways and using his sword as a shield to block the opponent's attack. Then he raised his giant sword and stabbed forward.

, strung two skeletons together and pushed them against the wall, directly smashing them into bones on the ground.

However, before he could draw out the sword, the mist rolled and the broken skeletons began to tremble slightly, and under the guidance of some kind of force, they were put back together again.

"It's endless, right?"

At this moment, Cass, who was attacked from both sides, twisted the hilt of his sword.

There is no lingering trace of strength left.

With a soft "click" sound, the mechanism on the sword's hilt clicked, the demon-sealing runes buried in the sword's hilt were activated, and the magic sealed in it was released.

Red flame runes climbed up the sword's body, and the entire black iron sword turned red like a soldering iron.

The temperature in the tunnel rose rapidly, and the broken bones there were burned into flying ashes in a few breaths.

Level six fire spell [Breaking Dawn].

When he was in the Blackthorn Mercenary Group, he spent a lot of money to find the trump card engraved in this weapon by the enchanter.

Cass himself is not a magic caster, and now that he is wanted, he cannot recharge it after the magic in the magic sealing rune is exhausted, so now this enchantment can be said to be a trump card that can only be used once.

"Enchanting runes?"

The half-human, half-spider monster looked at the flaming giant sword in Cass's hand, and for the first time there was a hint of solemnity in his voice.

"But you are not a magic swordsman. How long can the magic power in this sword last? Two minutes, one minute?"

"Enough of killing you."

The flames of the giant sword formed a curtain of fire and struck towards it.

Even the monster did not dare to take this massive blow. The six spider spears behind it were directly inserted into the stone wall, and it climbed up high with a "click-click" sound.

However, Cass did not give it a chance to climb up. The flames on the sword turned into a half-moon-shaped flying blade as he swung it, directly cutting off the three spider spears on its left half.

With a "click", it slid down the wall for several meters, barely holding itself in place with the other half of the spider spear, but this distance was enough for Cass to cut it.

Seeing the red giant sword coming, it raised its bone blade to meet it.

This time, the chitinous bone blade was cut open like butter. Under the terrifying high temperature, a "crackling" sound came from its arthropod-like hands, and an unpleasant burning smell filled the air.

"Mist Nightmare, if you don't take action, we will return to the Moon Realm together!"

Seeing Cass planning to cut off his own head, the monster suddenly shouted loudly.

With a "Puff" sound, Cass felt something piercing his body from the back.

A strange greasy feeling came from his abdominal cavity. He lowered his head and penetrated his stomach with a hand filled with mist.

It's the kind of mist that was on those skeletons just now...

The smell of rust rose up in his throat, Cass thought.

He turned around and saw that the previous skeletons were scattered and piled on the ground. The mist that originally enveloped them gathered together, forming a vague human shape behind him.

No wonder they can be reborn infinitely...

That layer of mist is the true form of those monsters, and the skeletons are just the puppets it controls.

Cass swallowed the smell of rust in his throat. It was too late to turn around at this moment. He planned to chop off the head of the monster in front of him while the enchantment effect was still there.

But it was already too late. The opponent's residual limb hit his wrist hard, and his abdomen was severely injured. Cass lost his strength in both hands, and the giant sword fell to the ground with a clang.

As he lost the guidance of his will, the enchanted runes on the sword were instantly extinguished, and the black iron sword quickly turned cold.

The hand that impaled him was withdrawn, and Cass' knees softened and he knelt down. He put his hands on the ground and gasped for air.

"Do you have to wait until this time to take action?"

"Didn't you say that you can handle him alone?"

"The information you gave did not say that his weapon also contains a fire spell specially used to defeat demons."

"How would I know if I haven't seen him use it?"

"Forget it...have you found the two who ran away earlier?"

"I made a mark in that woman's dream, and I just let my men pass by."

The two voices seemed to come from far away, and Cass, whose consciousness was gradually blurring, struggled to understand the meaning of their conversation.

He felt that he could not fall now.

He struggled to reach out to the giant sword that fell to the ground, but at this moment, the sword was too heavy for him.

At this moment, something slipped out of his breast pocket.

It was a demon-sealing rune flashing with electric light.

"If you ever feel you need help, just crush it."

He recalled the words of the mysterious magic chanter with gray hair and silver eyes.

He reached out and pressed the demon-sealing rune.

However, before he could crush it, a sharp sound of breaking through the air suddenly came.

"Whoosh!"

A silver arrow pierced the spider monster's neck.

Before Cass could react to what had happened, the sound of several more arrows piercing the air passed through his ears.

Compound eyes, mouthparts, joints, neck, heart...

Each silver arrow hit the vital part of the monster accurately. It turned into black salt crystals and began to dissipate without even leaving a last word.

Cass turned around, and not far away there was a tall blond woman wearing a three-cornered hat and light leather armor. She was half-kneeling on the ground, holding an exquisite repeating crossbow and aiming in this direction.

Seeing that the spider monster had begun to dissipate, the woman turned to shoot at the vague human form made of mist.

But when the crossbow arrow was fired, it only penetrated its body and sank into the wall behind it, without causing any effective damage to it.

Seeing this, the blond woman decisively dropped the repeating crossbow, took out the silver thin sword she wore on her waist, and rushed over with her long leather boots on.

And the mist humanoid's hands transformed into two sharp daggers and faced him.

"what do you……"

The woman ignored the words of the misty figure. She dodged the opponent's attack as elegantly as a swan, and then drew a sword across it. A faint silver light left a trail as the sword passed by.

As soon as the mist that makes up the human form touches the silver light, it disappears like the morning mist meeting the sunlight.

With just one sword strike, the mist figure disappeared without a trace.

The blonde woman retracted her sword neatly, then stretched out her hand to Cass.

"I'm sorry to be a little late. It's an honor to meet you."

"Who are you?"

Cass asked hoarsely. He had never seen such a person in his memory.

"It doesn't matter who I am, what matters is your identity."

The woman's voice was very cold and crisp.

"Identity? Do you mean a mercenary, a wanted criminal, or a dying person?"

Cass reluctantly laughed.

The woman shook her head, her expression unchanged like a doll.

"We have been looking for you for a long time, Cass Durant, the last bloodline of Black Saber."

Cass asked with blood in his mouth.

"Whose bloodline?"
