Chapter 71 Weird

At eleven o'clock, Qi Yi walked into the bedroom on time, laid out all the "traps" meticulously, and lay down on the bed.

He had a vague feeling of being spied on.

This feeling was very inexplicable. He had clearly closed the curtains and the guest bathroom was a pure secret room. It was impossible to hide anyone, but he always felt as if something was secretly watching him in the room.

It was just like the feeling he had when he went home before. He thought that the strange shadow might really appear tonight.

He felt a little uneasy, a little scared and looking forward to it. After waiting for so many days, Weiying was finally taking the bait.

Qi Yi thought wildly for a while and slowly fell asleep.

It is cloudy tonight, the stars are dim, the breeze is blowing, and the curtains are undulating. The neon lights across the street are changing rhythmically, and they are faintly shining in, but they seem to have lost their vitality and look groggy.

A familiar rancid smell wafted into Qi Yi's nostrils. He sat up suddenly and woke up instantly, his eyes moving around quickly.

There was a strong wind in the room, and the curtains were flying randomly.

The locked window actually opened? It seemed like something entered the bedroom quietly!?

"Lao Chi!" His pupils shrank suddenly and he shouted. He turned to look at the door and found that the bedroom door was still ajar and the water glass was still on top of the door.

There was nothing but him in the bedroom, Lao Chi didn't respond to him, and the stench disappeared without a trace. Only the curtains fluttered slowly, stimulating his nerves.

Qi Yi's heart was already half cold, all the arrangements at the door were ineffective, and the mechanism was not triggered at all.

Lao Chi should have chased him out as planned, so what he had to do now was to hold on for these three minutes and wait for Lao Chi to come back.

While he carefully glanced around, he took out a screwdriver and an electric shocker from his pocket, but these two gadgets did not give him the slightest sense of security at the moment.

He didn't notice any suspicious shadow, and he was the only one in the room, but the heart-wrenching feeling still lingered.

Qi Yi's breathing became heavier and heavier.

Three minutes, Lao Chi will be back in three minutes at most, you must hold on!

He no longer cared to think about what was going on, all he could think about was holding on for three minutes.

But Qi Yi didn't even know where the opponent was. It was like a poisonous snake hiding in the corner, looking for an opportunity to kill with one strike.

As time goes by, Lao Chi should be getting "closer" to him, but he becomes more and more uneasy.

After staying quietly for more than ten seconds, Qi Yi stood up carefully, then quickly rolled to the end of the bed, jumped out of bed, turned around and put his back against the wall, holding the electric shock device on guard.

He only had to pay attention to the situation in front of him and didn't have to worry about attacks from behind, which made Qi Yi feel slightly at ease.

Time passed by minute by minute, and Qi Yi still couldn't find the mysterious shadow.

His back was numb and cold sweat fell from his brow.

Three minutes have passed long ago, but Laochi still hasn't come back, and there is no movement at all outside.

what happened?

Qi Yi panicked even more, feeling that the situation was getting out of control.

According to the plan, Lao Chi would come back immediately after chasing him to the stairwell. The whole process should not last more than a minute. Even if the door was locked, he would use methods such as violently kicking in the door to get in, which would make a lot of noise.

But he heard nothing. The deathly silence in the bedroom, with only the occasional whine of the wind, convinced him that this was not an illusion.

The dead silence and silence gave Qi Yi a strong sense of suffocation and unreality.

After standing quietly in a stalemate for a while, he felt that his palms and soles were numb. He carefully moved his hands and feet, then leaned his back against the wall, slowly squatted down, and used the flashlight of his mobile phone to shine under the bed.

Nothing at all.

After carefully checking the closet, he was convinced that he was the only one in the second bedroom, and there were no ghosts or impostors.

But someone must have entered the room and opened the window, he was sure of it. But how did that thing get in? Had it been hiding in the room before? If so, how did it get out? The mechanism at the door was obviously not touched.

Is there really such a thing as wall penetration?

He suddenly felt that the wall he was leaning against could no longer provide him with a sense of security.

Weird, unknown, helpless, uneasy, and all kinds of negative emotions lingered in his heart. His heart seemed to be squeezed hard by an invisible big hand, which was extremely uncomfortable.

Qi Yi slowly raised his cell phone, wanting to call Lao Chi. After dialing the number, there were several sounds on the other end of the phone: "Beep...beep...beep...beep..." and then came: "You dialed."

No one is answering the phone right now, please call again later.”

He called again without giving up, but still no one answered.

Qi Yi's heart fell to the bottom.

Will something happen to Lao Chi?

Is there something wrong with the plan? No, everything should be perfectly arranged, unless the other party has abilities beyond logic...

Thinking that the other party could bypass the door and get in, Qi Yi felt as if he had fallen into an ice cave.

Thinking about it, Qi Yi became anxious and began to pace around the room. After walking around twice, he couldn't help but lift the curtains and poke his head out to see what was going on outside.

The outer wall was empty, with no shadows lying on the wall.

Are you hiding in the toilet?

Qi Yi walked to the door of the bathroom, carefully observed it for a while, then stepped in and stared blankly at the mirror on the sink.

In the mirror, he looked quite haggard, with a thin face, sunken eye sockets, an unkempt beard, and messy and greasy hair, as if he hadn't slept in three to five days.

There was no one in the bathroom either.

He boldly walked out of the bedroom and into the living room, his leather shoes making a clicking sound.

The living room is clean and spotless. The mottled light from outside the balcony shines on the sofa, as if it is covered with a layer of colorful mist, giving people a vague sense of unreality.

When he walked to the master bedroom, Qi Yi pressed the handle but could not open it. The door was actually locked. He called Lao Chi but did not get any response.

Continuing forward and walking out of Lao Chi's house, the long and narrow corridor was shrouded in darkness, as if it had no end.

"Lao Chi!" Qi Yi shouted again, but there was still no response. He clenched his fists hard, took a deep breath, and walked forward faster. The feeling of uneasiness in his heart became more and more intense, and he couldn't help but start running.

He was very glad that he was wearing sports shoes. If he had worn leather shoes, he would have been tired and inflexible when running, and would not have been able to run fast at all.

He ran all the way and soon saw Lao Chi's car. His eyes lit up and he rushed forward quickly. The footprints left by the rubber soles of his leather shoes on the ground were heavy and deep.

"Leather shoes are really in the way!" He thought to himself: "It's too much in the way. I'll have to wear sneakers when I'm not wearing police uniform."

As he ran, he looked back and saw that nothing was catching up with him. Qi Yi felt relieved, but he did not dare to stop. He had not forgotten his purpose and had to return to the detachment quickly and tell Lao Chi what had happened.

Lao Chi's house is not far from the detachment, but it's not close either. It's about five or six kilometers away. It takes a lot of time to run there.

He ignored the traffic along the way and just kept running forward. Finally, he ran out of a dark forest and stood at the door of the Criminal Investigation Detachment.

The night was getting darker, and the detachment was completely dark. The plaque was hazy and could not be seen clearly. But Qi Yi didn't care about it anymore. He took a deep breath, raised his legs and was about to step in.

Wait... The foot he just raised froze, and a layer of white sweat appeared on Qi Yi's back.

This strong sense of disobedience...
