Chapter 5 Shooting starts
Director Allen gradually approached, and behind him was his inseparable good friend Joe Dante. Dante was almost 5 feet 6 inches (about 1.70 meters), just like a guard on the basketball court hiding behind the center and dribbling forward.
Walking in front of everyone, Joe's head flashed out from behind Alan. The middle-parted hairstyle could not hide the rapid retreating line. He grabbed director Alan's arm with one hand and pointed at Ronald with the other hand and shouted: "Ronnie, Ronnie, how are you preparing today?"
"I just organized a group drill twice. The leading actor has finished his position and put on makeup. Wait until Director Allen and you confirm the costumes of the leading actor. You can bring makeup and rehearsals in 5 minutes. The photography director said that the shooting can start on time at 6:30."
As he said that, Ronald handed over the storyboard he drew yesterday.
Joe Dante took it and saw it: "Is this the storyboard you drew?"
He took the initiative today and took on the director's duties. While looking at the storyboard artworks drawn by Ronald in detail, he ordered: "Turn Director Alan's chair over."
Ronald saw that director Allen was in a bad state. He hurriedly brought the chair. It was the kind of chair with the name written on the backrest, the director's exclusive chair. Ronald took the director's arm from Joe and helped him sit down with difficulty.
The director was sweating on his forehead, his face was pale, and he looked a little bad. Ronald leaned close to him, attached himself to the director's ear, and asked softly: "Do you want to have a cup of hot coffee, Director Allen?"
Allen nodded. Ronald pulled over to his assistant Jim and gently told him to bring him a cup of hot coffee.
"Very good, today I will take pictures according to your storyboard. PJ, you are wearing the red one," Joe Dante said, handing the storyboard to the photography director. The two began to discuss the details of the shooting:
"At the beginning, the camera calls the new student in the close-up view, then pulls back and rises, giving a panoramic view of the playground, and pushes forward to the new platform of the Science Club at the Good Girls' School Station..."
The two agreed, and Joe came over and spread the storyboard and told Allen. Allen nodded in agreement.
At this time, the extras returned to the playground one after another. Seeing this, Ronald picked up the electric speaker and guided the extras to take the place.
The red-haired photography assistant began to put a black cloth on the film box to prevent exposure, and put his hands in to touch the darkness to install the film.
The photography director called two other strong men's assistants, and several people began to check the installed camera rocker arm. The rising and falling several times were raised and down, and the test began.
In less than a minute, red-haired hair was in the dark and installed film in the black cloth bag. He came over and picked up a roll of vinyl tape and pasted it along the edge of the film box. Low-cost movies were renting secondary phones, and they didn't know whether the quality of the machine was good or bad. So he used vinyl tape to stick the gap to prevent accidental leakage and ruining the film.
After wrapping the film box, the photography director began to direct the assistants to lift the camera onto the rocker arm and install it. Then they started testing it up and down. The rocker arm is also a rented second-hand product. If you don’t test it, you will be afraid of something going wrong.
Co-director Joe Dante begins to talk about the good girl Dai Yang...
The crew is like a big machine, and the staff are like gears. At the director's order, they begin to run in an orderly manner.
Ronald likes this order very much. A good director is like a general, a crew is like a team of soldiers, and filming is a team of teamwork, and directors must have leadership skills.
The starring and supporting actors stood in place and prepared to start the rehearsal. Joe Dante was discussing details with the director sitting in a chair.
Ronald picked up the electric speaker and began to organize extras to act as a good human background. "Dear boys and girls from Vanneis High School, we are about to start the rehearsal with makeup. Please take the position you have determined before, please stand at the position you have determined before..."
"From the football team, please come to me, okay, your matches are great. You stand here at the beginning, and after I give the signal, you will rush to the map, carry the freshman up, and carry him away in a prank. Do you understand?"
The director motioned to Ronald for the start of the rehearsal. Several actors began to act in a fake manner. In order to save the best performance status for the formal shooting, the actors were both on the move and rehearsal. The extras cooperated well, except for one or two peeking at the camera.
Photography director Dean Condy personally climbed up the rocker's arm and followed the motion track of the camera that was formally shot. The director demonstrated that he was satisfied.
Ronald picked up the electric speaker again: "Please all the extras stand at the start position." The leading actors and supporting actors also stood at the start position.
All staff members left the camera, and everyone waited patiently and expectantly.
Co-director Joe Dante said another detail to starring Dai Yang. Everyone held their breath and waited for the arrival of the magic light.
Just after 06:28, the light in the air suddenly began to flow like an athlete who heard the starting gun. The sun had not yet risen from the horizon, but had slowly illuminated the sky and the background.
This is a beautiful color. The camera's metal body reveals a light blue luster, as if it is covered with a layer of armor.
The hairpins worn by several high school girls and the big black-framed glasses worn by the good girl students also began to shine with a faint reflection. Everyone seemed to dare not breathe, waiting for the arrival of the magic light.
The red-haired photography assistant trotted to the actor to meter the light, then ran back to the camera, reported the metering data to adjust the aperture.
The uncle who carried the long recording pole held the long recording pole to the actor's head and tried to get the sound as close as possible, but kept it far enough to not be photographed by the camera.
"The light is just right!" the photography director shouted.
After receiving a gesture from director Allen's eyes, Ronald picked up the electric speaker: "Okay, let's take the official shot for the first time, prepare!"
Jim cooperated and pressed the whistle three times, "Beep...beep..." This is a signal to notify the ban on the field.
Everyone is not whispering to each other, waiting for the order.
Ronald looked at the director, and Joe Dante signaled him to start. Ronald said with an electric speaker:
This chapter is not finished yet, please click on the next page to continue reading the exciting content behind! "Voice recorder?"
"It's on!" the recording team replied.
"camera?"
"Running at full speed!" The red-haired signaled that the camera's motor had accelerated to 24 frames of film per second and could start shooting.
Picking up the trumpet board, Jenny ran to the camera and held it up, and began to say, "The 127th scene of 'High School Life', the first shot, the first."
Pull the field board down with a snap, and then quickly exit the shooting area.
"Start the shoot.(Action!)"
Alan Akush, who was sitting in the director's chair, said softly.
"Start the shoot!(Action!)"
Ronald used an electric speaker to loudly convey the director's command.
The performance has begun.
A freshman looked at the map on the wall, with a red fork on it, and the red fork was written below: "Your location is here."
"Where am I?" the freshman said to himself.
The photography director directed the camera to move horizontally, then slowly retreated, slowly pulled away from the newborn upper body in the view frame to his whole body, and then continued to retreat, and the three rugby team members entered the painting from the right.
"Oh, there is a newborn here!" "Newborn, newborn!"
The rugby team members, wearing game costumes, rushed over to carry the extras who played the new generation.
"Where are you going to get me!"
"Put it in the locker!"
"Oh, don't throw me into the locker."
The camera's rocker arm rose to the top of his head at a constant speed and began to change to a downward view. The rugby player carried the freshman and exited the camera screen. Then the camera slowly moved, and the picture framed the welcome platform of the Science Club where the good girl student was located.
The camera points to the female academic master, Dai Yang, one of the heroines. It starts to descend slowly, and finally stops and points to the table in front of her.
There are several bottles for chemical experiments on the table, which contain different colors of water of red, green and blue. There is also a brand "Science Society, Kate Lanbao, Chemical Reaction Demonstration" next to it.
Ronald stood not far behind the camera and watched the shooting. This is one of the rare highlights in this low-cost movie. It costs a lot of money and will be cut into the opening scene of the movie in the future.
The first shot today seems to be quite smooth, and the scenes of the secret shots and the revelation in the dream are basically the same. Ronald nodded. Let's see if the director is satisfied. Leave this one to wash the print.
However, the director has not called a stop yet. It seems that there are some special ideas. Is it better to keep the shot longer and facilitate editing? Or are there any other special artistic considerations?
No, this is too long. The actor's expression has begun to become rigid. Dai Yang, who plays the good girl, has begun to turn to look at the camera. She is looking for the director to give him a signal to the director whether he will continue to perform.
Why not shout Cut?
Ronald also turned to see what director Allen thought.
The tall and thin man who was nearly two meters tall, sat on the chair and began to tilt his head gradually. Do you use this angle to use the mirror? No, why did the director...
Ronald quickly picked up the electric speaker:
“Cut!Cut!Cut!Cut!”
Everyone was frightened by his rapid shouts and turned their heads to look over.
"The director fainted!"
