386 [Longbow]

The long bow holds the full moon, and the sword shines brightly in the frost and snow.

This poem comes from the late Daliang poet Liu Song's "Impressions of the Highness of Yunhan Mountain". It was written in June of the fourth year of Taihe, Emperor Taizong. The poem commemorates Ning Guogong Yang Siji, one of the nine founding fathers of Daliang.

Yang Siji was born in the former Wei Wuxun generals. After the Gaozu uprising, he led 800 people from his family to surrender. Later he was responsible for guarding the western border, blocking the Western Wu cavalry on the Gaoyang Plain, preventing them from setting foot in the heart of the Central Plains. Although Yang Siji was not like Dingguo

Gong Pei Yuan opened up the territory like that, but without him guarding the western front for twenty years, Daliang would never have formed the territory it has today. The so-called good warriors without great achievements are probably like this.

In order to remember Ning Guogong's great achievements, Emperor Taizong specially named the northernmost camp in the Western Region as Longgong Camp in his later years.

Changgong Camp is located on the northwest border of Dongqing Prefecture, about three hundred miles away from Linqing County at the junction of the three prefectures in the north.

The Beitiao River passes from the north of Hucheng, and then flows eastward. When it is still more than a hundred miles away from the boundary of Guangping Prefecture, it turns to the north. After passing through Guangping Prefecture and Dongqing Prefecture, it flows northward into the Huanghai. Longgong

The camp is located to the east of Beitiao River, and is blocked by Yunhan Mountain to the north. The geographical location is extremely advantageous, firmly grasping the northwest corner of Lingzhou and even the entire Daliang.

The standing military strength in the camp is three guards and nearly 40,000 people. Although it is the smallest among the four western battalions in terms of numbers, it is undoubtedly the strongest in combat capability.

The coach is Tang Youzhi, Marquis of Jining. He is forty-three years old this year, which is probably the most outstanding age in a military commander's life.

It's just that in recent days, the powerful prince's brows have rarely relaxed.

When Emperor Kaiping and Wang Pingzhang decided to build a defense system on the western front, they once caused a big debate in the court, that is, whether to build a military stronghold to the west of Longgong Camp. Opponents believed that the location of Longgong Camp would be difficult.

defend in distress

If we attack, as long as we protect this camp, the northwest of Lingzhou will be as safe as a mountain. Those in favor believe that building a military camp to the west of the Beitiao River will not only build a defense line for the Changgong Camp, but also protect the north of Hucheng.

Both sides had their own reasons, and Wang Pingzhang was unable to make a decision for a while. In the end, Emperor Kaiping decided to build eleven military strongholds to the west of Changgong Camp.

Tang Youzhi took over the Changgong Camp five years ago. After coming here for on-site inspection, he discovered that something was wrong. These eleven military forts were more of a burden than a line of defense. He had written to the court three times, hoping to abolish these armies.

Zhai, ceded the vast plain area north of Hucheng to Xiwu, and concentrated on guarding the two passes of Hucheng and Changgong Camp, which was enough to guard the northern boundary of Lingzhou.

However, these three memorials seemed to have been thrown into the sea, and there was no response at all. Later, Tang Youzhi found out that the memorials were stuck in Xifu, mainly because of the firm opposition of Lu Min, the right military commander Cheng'anhou. The reason is simple. Those eleven military forts cost tens of millions of national funds.

, how can it be abandoned after being built for several years?

If we really do this, can those civil servants in Dongfu let Wu Xun go?

Tang Youzhi was helpless. Although he was good at training soldiers and relied on his ability to step up to the position of commander of the camp and third-class prince, compared with Lu Min, who was born in the Jiu Gongfu of the founding of the People's Republic of China, he had no connections in the court or the military.

They are all very different.

After Xiwu Zhendong General Xie Lin led his troops to the north of Hucheng, Tang Youzhi raised his vigilance to the highest level, because according to the information he collected, Xie Lin, who was born in a poor family, was good at using strange soldiers and had the most powerful cavalry in Xiwu.

, any oversight may lead to total loss.

Therefore, when Xie Lin sent out seven troops to attack the Daliang military stronghold, not a single military stronghold was destroyed. The defenders were beaten repeatedly by Tang Youzhi, and they did not dare to underestimate the enemy.

After Cheng'an Hou Lu Min's command came from Guping Camp, Tang Youzhi felt a little relieved. There was nothing particularly weird about this command. It was a correct and correct strategy, and it also made his suspicion of Lu Min disappear over the years.

A little.

But he still couldn't relax, because according to the battle reports sent back from the front line, it can be seen that Xie Lin did not make any pretense this time. The seven armies were actually attacking the Daliang military stronghold. The defensive pressure of the various military strongholds was extremely high, and the letters asking for help were snowflakes.

Usually fly to the Longbow Camp.

In response to these messages asking for help, Tang You responded one by one, strictly ordering the generals to defend their own military strongholds, but he did not send a single soldier. He knew that his decision was cold-blooded, but the principle of Ci not to take charge of troops was not a lie, especially when

In the early stages of the war, and under the premise that the Western Wu cavalry was large in number and highly maneuverable, how could he throw away the wealth of the Longgong Camp?

Gu Ke

The spacious hall was brightly lit, staff and scribes were doing their own thing, and no one dared to slack off or be distracted.

The atmosphere was very quiet. Tang Youzhi stood in front of the sand table, his bloodshot eyes staring at the land bordering more than a thousand miles north of Hucheng and west of Beitiao River.

The eleven military strongholds were not only military strongholds, but also the lives of more than 30,000 Daliang soldiers. With the current relationship between Daliang and Xiwu, it would be difficult for these people to survive after the city was broken. Even if Tang Youzhi could learn from the entire battle situation

From the perspective of making decisions, but every time I think of those young people who defend the country, I still feel unbearable in my heart.

A gust of wind whirled in through the door that was suddenly pushed open. The person who came was Liu Buqi, the leader of the Gray Harrier Battalion. This was Tang Youzhi's confidant brought from the capital, and he was in charge of the Gray Harrier Battalion responsible for spying on news.

"Master Marquis, there is an urgent military situation." Liu Buqi hurriedly handed over his hands and said solemnly.

Tang Youzhi's eyes narrowed and he said in a deep voice: "Say."

Liu Buqi bowed his head and said: "Liupi Village fell into the hands of the enemy. Xie Lin sent his troops to besiege Xishan Village. Gu Mang, who was unable to retreat, was also trapped in Xishan Village."

Tang Youzhi's color suddenly changed.

The reason why he reacted like this was not because of the name Gu Mang. Although this boy was the son of Marquis Guangping and was highly regarded by him for his strong abilities, the life and death of a young general in this war situation was nothing at all.

.The most important reason is that Gu Mang was ordered to perform a mission and take away half of the cavalry from the Longbow Camp.

Coupled with the fact that Xishan Village was at the core of the western military camp system, Tang Youzhi knew that the situation had forced him to make a decision.

"Master Hou..." Liu Buqi has been with him for many years, and of course he knows how difficult this decision is.

"Xishan Village must be protected, and the cavalry must be rescued. If they are handed over to Xie Lin, the Longbow Camp will become a turtle in a urn without any mobility."

Tang Youzhi took a deep breath, his face gradually calmed down, he looked around, looked at all the people looking at him in the festival hall, and said without hesitation: "Send the order, Gao Yunfan will lead Yang Quwei to stay in the camp, and the other generals will lead the army to follow.

I will help protect Xishan Village."

"Follow the order!"

The festival hall immediately became busy. The army's departure was very complicated, and behind a sentence required endless efforts.

Tang Youzhi looked at Liu Buqi and said, "You lead the Gray Harrier Battalion to cross the river immediately. You must ensure the safety of the army in front."

"Follow the order!"

Liu Buqi left in a hurry.
