background introduction
The ancient name of Tiantai Mountain is Dongmeng Mountain. During the ancient prehistoric period, when Dayu was passing through the Shu Kingdom to control floods, he chose this mountain as a platform to climb up to worship heaven, hence the reputation of "Tiantai".
At the end of the Han Dynasty, Taoists dug caves in Xiangshan Mountain and built altars to worship gods. They officially changed its name to "Tiantai Mountain", and Tiantai Mountain added religious and cultural content.
At the beginning of the Shu-Han Dynasty in the Three Kingdoms, Zhuge Liang went to Linqiong to inspect the cultivation of "Jiatun" and the excavation of "Fire Well". He took a "wooden chair cart" to go up the mountain to have a look, leaving behind place names such as "Tianchepo" and "Wangjunding".
During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the monk Puda Sheye from the West traveled here and founded the Tiantai Buddhist Temple. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, religion spread. In the early Tang Dynasty, Yuan Tiangang, the magistrate of Huojing County, respected Taoism, so Taoism was the dominant force in Tiantai Mountain.
During the Five Dynasties, a large-scale City God Temple was built in Tiantai Mountain. During the Song Dynasty, Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism coexisted in Tiantai Mountain. The three schools competed for the mountains and forests, and each had a courtyard, a Taoist temple, and more than a hundred official offices.
The power spread and conflicts arose among various factions, so the state general magistrate appeared and officials were appointed to rule in the mountain. At that time, Wen Tong (a painter of the Northern Song Dynasty), Lu You (a patriotic poet of the Southern Song Dynasty) and others took the lead in managing the religious affairs of Tiantai Mountain.
At the end of the Song Dynasty and the Yuan Dynasty, Tiantai Mountain gradually declined, so there was another incident of "Fu Chen opened the mountain" during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty.
Thousand-stick monks intercepted them, so Zhang's troops went around the green grass slope and climbed up the back mountain of Tiantai Mountain to attack the religious group. As a result, all the temples, temples and nunneries in Tiantai Mountain were destroyed.
During the Qing Dynasty, Taoists and Buddhists tried to restore famous religious mountains, but the scale was far less than that of the past. During the Republic of China, the Tiantai Mountains were ravaged by soldiers and bandits, the society was unstable, and the pilgrimage to the mountains was almost extinct. During the "Special Period", the religious culture of Tiantai Mountains suffered a great blow.
Great destruction, but Moyun Peak in Tiantai Mountain is even more famous.
Moyun Peak is not at the top of Tiantai Mountain, but on its waist. It has rugged rocks and clouds covering the top of the peak. It is like a seat and has towering ancient trees. Giant vines are all over the mountain. The clouds and rocks in the north of the peak are all over the valley. Giant rocks are piled up in various shapes. The Golden Dragon River runs through the Golden Dragon Cave.
After that, we dived into the bottom of the stream, but we heard the sound of the water but could not see the waves. This is a great spectacle.
How can Moyun Peak, which is hundreds of meters above sea level, be able to move (touch) clouds? It has both the creation of heaven and earth and beautiful legends.
It is said that Laozi rode a green ox out of Hangu Pass and entered Shu. After leaving the ox on the top of Tiantai Mountain (later called "Funiu Mountain"), he went to Qingniu Si in Chengdu and disappeared. However, Laozi never forgot that Qingniu still lived in the deep mountains of Tiantai, and sent his followers to Xiangshan Mountain in Tiantai one after another.
By the Han Dynasty, several Taoist temples had been built on the mountain. Because the classics scholar Hu and the astrologer Yan Junping also visited the mountain many times, Tiantai became a famous Taoist mountain.
Huan was a famous classics scholar in the Western Han Dynasty. He gathered his disciples to give lectures at Baihe Mountain. He did not hide his fame and wealth, and aspired to cultivate his moral character and become an immortal. However, his secret was revealed by a student. Seeing that Huan was old and lonely and living a poor life, he decided to teach him.
She told her mother that she wanted to give some delicious food to the teacher, so she boiled a few eggs and asked her son to deliver them to her. In the evening, when the students came to Huan's cave (later called "Dianyi Cave"), there was no sign of Huan.
In the middle of the night, Huan returned in despair. The next day, Huan sat in the cave and gave lectures. He still had no scriptures in his hands but was eloquent. After school, the students asked Huan where he had been last night. Huan smiled and did not answer. The students remained suspicious.
Then he hid in the trees outside the cave to take a closer look. At dusk, a red-crowned crane descended from the sky and stood at the entrance of the cave. Huan floated up and climbed onto the back of the crane. The crane spread its wings and soared into the sky. The students were stunned.
Five gongs were heard from far away in the city, and Huan was riding a white crane slowly descending. The students told their families about this, and everyone asked to go to spy on it because it was night. As expected, the village was disturbed for a while, shouting "something strange"
"!
But then Juan suddenly disappeared
Lu You, the great poet of the Southern Song Dynasty, came here to pay his respects and was filled with emotion: "The Immortal Huan learned the Tao of Xiyan and climbed to the sky across a crane..." Xiyan is Moyun Peak (also known as Moyun Rock) in Tiantai Mountain. Therefore, Tiantai Mountain is to the west of Baihe Mountain, and Lu You
It is said that Xiyan Luyou went to Tiantai Mountain many times when he was an official in Linqiong, and carefully inspected the scenic spots on Tiantai. Although Moyun Peak does not have a Taoist temple, it was the place where Huan once again practiced meditation and read the Book of Heaven. This is not a Taoist way.
It all comes from the scriptures. You must also purify your mind and achieve "enlightenment" after sitting in meditation (Buddhists also talk about awakening and enlightenment). If you can't understand it, you will set up an altar to offer sacrifices to heaven, hoping that the Supreme Lord will express the weather at the fourth watch and the green of Funiu Mountain.
The cow brayed three times, the clouds and mist shrouded in front of Moyun Peak, and a heavenly book floated over. I reached out and took it. It was a piece of silk. There was no word in it. How could I read it? It all depends on spirituality. At that time, there was immortal music coming from heaven.
Come here, those with spiritual nature will know the content of the Heavenly Book after listening to Tianle. Huan has a spiritual nature, so he can naturally understand the Heavenly Book. Therefore, Moyunfeng was originally the office of the Confucian scholar Huan Yuyunzhong to receive the Heavenly Book.
Yan Junping was originally an astrologer. He had been selling divination in Chengdu for many years, so why did he come to Moyun Peak? This is because according to Taoist theory, stars are the stars in the sky, and people are the stars in the sky and come down to earth. Especially the big figures in "Three Kingdoms"
In "The Romance", Sima Yi looked up at the astronomy one night, "seeing the stars out of position" and concluded that "Kong Ming must be sick and will die soon". The fact is as Sima Yi expected.
Taoism also talks about looking at qi, which is to predict the good or bad fortune of people based on the color, shape and change of clouds. "Lu's Spring and Autumn Annals. Mingli" says, "In the state of chaos, kings and ministers will become enemies, elders and younger will kill each other, father and son will tolerate each other, and brothers will fight against each other."
False accusations, knowing friends betray each other, husband and wife cheating on each other, violating the rules of the day, losing the rules of human beings, the heart is like an animal, always evil and evil, its cloud shape is like a dog, like a horse, like a crane, like a lot of chariots..." Yan Junping sold divination in Chengdu,
Although most of the people who come to visit are ordinary people, "if they get a hundred coins, enough to support themselves, they will close their eyes and lower their curtains." However, after their reputation has become famous, dignitaries also come to seek divination, often involving military and national affairs. This is not only about fortune telling.
What I can do is that Chengdu is located in a plain with thousands of miles of fertile fields. You can look up at the sky, but not at the clouds. Moyun Peak in the Tiantai Fairy Mountain is an excellent place. At the same time, Taoism also talks about "the sound of nature", that is, the clear voice of heaven rising across the crane.
Huan, the immortal classics master, even received the book from heaven at Moyun Peak, so why didn't Yan Junping, an astrologer, go there? Therefore, this Linqiong native went up to the rooftop many times at night, burned incense and offered sacrifices to heaven, and observed the sky at Gaochu
After looking at the clouds and reading the heavenly book, he finally wrote "Laozi Guiding Return". Unfortunately, this book was lost. During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Buddhist temples were built on the rooftop. In the Song Dynasty, there were more Buddhist temples than Taoist temples. Taoists were dissatisfied, so they set up an altar to worship heaven at Moyun Peak, which expanded
The ceremony is very solemn, and its procedures include: setting up the altar, offering offerings, burning incense, raising the altar, the ritual master reciting the Dharma, proclaiming the spiritual mantra, beating the drum, setting off the stove, seducing the gods, welcoming the guests, playing music, offering tea, scattering flowers,
Step by step, praise, pronounce words, resume the furnace, sing rites, bless the gods, and send the gods off. Local officials in Linqiong often come here to offer sacrifices to the sky. At night, the sky lanterns on Moyun Peak flicker, and the sound of drum music floats and turns, making it a spectacular scene in the Taiping Year.
The villagers also recommended their leaders to go up the mountain to set up altars to worship God, thanking God for a good harvest, and praying for a good harvest next year.
In fact, the fact that Moyun Peak is only a few hundred meters above sea level and can move (touch) clouds is due to the creation of heaven and earth. The orogeny in ancient times formed Tiantai Mountain into a long, dustpan-shaped three-level platform: the west and north sides of Tiantai Mountain.
, there are steep cliffs on the three sides to the south, and only the east side is a gap. "The wind comes from the east", blowing clouds and mist, and cannot pass when encountering the steep cliffs, so they are affectionate and entangled with the mountains and rocks, and they do not want to leave the water and mist in the mountains for a long time.
