Chapter 238 Passing through Qingzhou

In the winter of the second year of Jingtai, on the way to reorganize the army in Liangzhou, the Zhou court officially issued an edict:

The states and counties in the world were merged, and the country was divided into thirty provinces. Each province had jurisdiction over several counties. Each province had a military envoy in charge of government affairs and a military envoy in charge of military affairs.

The official rank of the military commander is the second rank of Zheng, and the official rank of the general protector is the second rank of the subordinate. One civil servant and one military officer restrain each other. The civil servant is half a rank higher, so as to avoid the military commanders from overestimating themselves and the civil servants from having too much power.

The three counties of Fuzhou, Luzhou and Longtai in the south were merged into Nanjiang Road, Liangzhou and Youzhou in the north were merged into Beiliang Road, and Jizhou and Hanzhou were merged into Pinghan Road.

Sandao is an important border town and is responsible for resisting foreign enemies. Therefore, on top of the military envoys and the protective envoys, there is a Jiedushi envoy with an official rank starting from the first rank. He has overall military and political power, which can be said to be extremely powerful.

As soon as the news came out, the world was shocked. If he could be a military envoy, he would be a serious border official, far beyond the previous governor of a state.

So all the aristocratic families with some background began to wonder if they could take a manager into their arms and started walking around one after another.

Chen Yue and Chu Yucheng, who were on the march, were both stunned when they received the news. The commotion in the court was a bit big.

Chu Yucheng looked at the imperial edict in his hand and said with a smile: "If the prediction is correct, the so-called Jiedushi of Beiliang Dao will be you. Our burden will be even heavier in the future!"

Chen Yue smiled slightly: "Don't be too happy too early. The news is not confirmed yet. Let's go first. We will arrive in Qingzhou soon. Mr. Xue is probably already waiting for me."

The army has marched to Qingzhou. According to the journey, they will stay in Qingzhou for one day, then cross the Canglong River and continue northward.

Outside Qingzhou City, Xue Shenchen stood at the gate of the city wearing a red fur coat, her eyes narrowed slightly, and her figure remained motionless despite the cold wind blowing.

One step behind him was Gong Liangming, the governor of Qingzhou, standing aside with a respectful expression.

Behind them were officials of all sizes in Qingzhou, and heads of many aristocratic families gathered here, all wanting to see this Liangzhou general with outstanding military exploits.

"Boom!"

There was a sound of horse hoofbeats in the distance, and everyone looked up. Hundreds of black-armored cavalry suddenly appeared, and several Liangzhou troops were fluttering in the wind with majestic momentum.

Behind the cavalry, the boundless Liangzhou army also appeared in everyone's eyes, like a rolling iron stream, rushing endlessly. The army did not enter the city, but camped far away from Qingzhou City.

When the cavalry arrived, Chen Yue dismounted and quickly walked up to Xue Shen Shen. He bowed respectfully as a junior: "Junior Chen Yue, I have met Mr. Xue!"

"Hahaha!" Xue Shen laughed boldly: "General Chen, I haven't seen him for more than a year and he has become more and more heroic. Now he has accumulated numerous military achievements and is about to rise to prominence. I will treat him with admiration after three days apart!"

Chenyue said with a smile: "Mr. Xue, don't make fun of this junior."

"Gong Liangming, the governor of Qingzhou, has met General Chen!" Gong Liangming, who was leaning heavily against the snow, also bowed with his hands.

Chen Yue quickly returned the courtesy: "The courtesy of governor is too heavy, but I can't afford it. Our official positions are equal, so there is no need to be more polite!"

When he went south, Chen Yue met Gong Liangming once. He was Xue Shen Shen's proud disciple, so Chen Yue would not act like General Annan.

Gong Liangming laughed heartily. Under Gong Liangming's introduction, Chenyue and the heads of the major aristocratic families in Qingzhou met one after another, and they became familiar with each other.

After chatting for a while, Xue Shenchen grabbed Chenyue's wrist very kindly: "Let's go! I will stay at Xue's house today."

"Then I'm sorry for bothering you!" Chenyue didn't refuse, and followed Xue Shenshen into the city under the astonished eyes of the officials in Qingzhou.

Everyone has stayed in Qingzhou for so many years. When have you ever seen an old man from the Xue family be so kind to a junior?

The Liangzhou army was led by Chu Yucheng and others to set up camp. Naturally, officials from Qingzhou came to hand over the troops and prepare for crossing the river.

As soon as Chen Yue followed Xue Shen Shen into the Xue family mansion, an eccentric girl popped up from behind the door. Her big black eyes blinked and said, "Brother, do you still remember me?"

Chenyue laughed and reached out to rub the little girl's head: "Remember, you are Xue Leihan's sister, Xue Qianqian, right?"

After not seeing each other for more than a year, this teenage girl has grown a lot taller.

"Grandpa, look, big brother remembers me!" the little girl grabbed Xue Shen's hand and shouted excitedly.

"Okay, little girl, you can play by yourself, your big brother and I still have something to say." Xue Shen said with a deep smile.

The little girl grinned at Chen Yue and then jumped away.

Because the weather was cold and Xue Shenchen was already old, the two of them did not go to the pavilion in the middle of the lake, but went to Xue Shenchen's study.

Stepping into the study, a warm feeling hit your face. There were two huge stoves in the room.

"Sit, don't be formal, just feel free to sit." Xue Shen pointed to the chair in the room and poured a cup of hot tea for Chen Yue. The aroma of the tea immediately overflowed.

The two of them exchanged a few words at first, and after a while Xue Shenchen said: "My friend has made outstanding achievements in battle this time, and the Jiedu Envoy of Beiliang Dao is already in his pocket."

When Chen Yue heard that Xue Shen Shen was so sure, he naturally knew that the matter had been decided, but the court had not announced it yet.

Then Chen Yue saluted seriously: "I would like to thank Uncle Xue in Beijing for his help in this matter!"

Xue Leihan had said at the beginning that he would ask Xue Chengyi to help him, and now it is appropriate for Chen Yue to thank him.

"Hey, thank you!" Xue Shenchen felt a little embarrassed: "You earned this through bloody battles. We didn't do much, so don't be polite."

"Haha." Chenyue smiled slightly, and then changed the topic: "How to divide the area around Qingzhou? Is it to be merged with Yangzhou?"

Xue Shen waved his hand: "How is it possible? Qingyang and Yang are the richest places in the world. If they merge into one, no one can rule here. Qingzhou and the two surrounding counties are merged into Cangqing Road, and Yangzhou is

The land of several counties was merged into Cangyang Road."

Chenyue nodded in sudden realization. These two wealthy places located on the edge of the Canglong River really cannot be combined into one, otherwise countless people would be jealous of the post of military envoy.

Xue Shen put away her smile and said with a serious look: "Now that the situation in the court is changing, it is not easy for you to be caught between the Queen Mother and the Yuwen family. You must be careful in your actions in the future. I want to remind you, don't look at Yuwen

We are now at a disadvantage in the battle between the court and the old man Yuwen Hongru, who is much more dangerous than he appears on the surface."

Chenyue nodded seriously: "Thank you, Mr. Xue, for reminding me, I will be careful."

Xue Shen looked deeply at the polite young man in front of him, and felt a sigh of relief in his heart. When Chen Yue left Qingzhou, he was still worried that he would be defeated.

Unexpectedly, when we meet again today, more than 100,000 Fuzhou rebels have become bones and souls killed by the sword.

The two chatted until late at night before they dispersed. From the distribution of power in the court to the grievances between various families, Xue Shenchen told Chen Yue everything he could.
