35. Unexpected gains (compiled)
About thirty years ago, a story told a change in the teaching attitude of an elementary school teacher MRS.green. The content of the story is roughly as follows.
On the first day of school, she told the children that she loved every child. But that was just a lie. There was a boy named teddystoddard in the front row. He didn't get along well with other classmates in the class. Mrs.green also didn't like him because of this.
Later, mrs.green gradually learned that teddystoddard actually performed well before his mother passed away. mrs.green felt guilty about his behavior. When teddystoddard brought her a Christmas gift like other classmates in the class, mrs.green was even more ashamed. It was teddystoddard's favorite perfume during his lifetime.
Teddy said: "Mrs.green, the teacher smelled like my mom used to be, and it smelled very fragrant." When the children left, Mrs.green cried for at least an hour. That day, she made up her mind to not only teach children only reading, writing and math, but to teach them more about how to be a human being.
mrs.green pays special attention to teddy, and the boy's self-awareness seems to begin to wake up. The more the teacher encourages him, the greater the boy's progress. By the end of the sixth grade semester, the boy has become one of the smartest children in the class.
Time flies, another six years, mrs.green received a text message from Teddy. The boy said that he had ranked third in his grades and successfully graduated from high school. The boy also said that she was the best teacher in his life. Later, the boy went to college. A few years later mrs.green received two more letters, with the end of the letter signed theodoref.stoddard, m.d. (Doctor of Medicine).
The story has not ended here.dr.stoddard whispered to the teacher at his wedding: "Thank you for your trust in me, mrs.green. You made me feel self-esteem and self-respect, and you believe that I can make a difference!"
mrsgreen said with tears in his eyes and sincere feelings: "Teddy, you said you were wrong. It was me who should be thanked. It was you who changed me. It was not until I met you that I truly understood what education is!"
