Chapter 1,125 Dim Yellow and Pale Green (5.31)

[Additional content: I saw a very new entry point when I was browsing a certain page today. The main idea is that "Daytime Rain" uses everyday tones to make a horror film. I thought about it and thought it was wrong, but I was too lazy to start it again.

A new long review, so I’ll just tuck it into this article. Friends who are not interested can feel free to skip it↓]

Speaking of tones, in my opinion, "Daytime Rain" has three general tones: daily natural light, common soft light in Memory Killer, and Mawson's exclusive "horror film lighting".

The first two types are common in film and television works on the market, and everyone must be very familiar with them. Here I will pick out some of the things that I find interesting.

When Tian Gang and Mo Sen were eating in the restaurant, their colors and auras were opposite.

Logically speaking, Tian Gang is wearing a bright color (I forgot whether it was a green coat or a cyan coat). Such colors are more conspicuous and prominent in street shops, and will guide the audience's eyes towards Tian Gang.

Mawson wears dark colors. His black (or gray) plaid shirt is the most common style. He looks very inconspicuous, if it weren't for his lighter hair and his frighteningly white skin.

, Moson's overall visual appearance is in a gray state, which is in line with his temperament as a social loser.

In other common works, people wearing bright-colored clothes are 80% likely to be the protagonist. This is easy to understand and can attract more attention = occupy a dominant position = have more and important roles = protagonist, average

The logic is roughly the same. Especially in scenes where there are many people appearing, many costume stylists will use a contrast method where the protagonist wears bright colors and the others are relatively plain, implicitly hinting to the audience that "this is the protagonist, pay more attention to him/her".

"Day Rain" uses the color differences of the costumes (and the actors' acting skills, lol) to outline a conversation between two people who "appear to be the protagonist" and "actually are the protagonist".

Don't many movies and dramas nowadays like to have "dual male protagonists"? If you think about it this way, aren't Tian Gang and Mo Sen a kind of double male protagonist?

Don't tell me, using this kind of term, it seems that "Rain of the Day" suddenly became fashionable.

Okay, without digressing, in short, Tian Gang, who is more visually distinct here, was repeatedly choked by what Mo Sen said. He could only pick up the cup to drink in embarrassment and looked around, trying to hide his embarrassment. On the contrary, the loser Mo Sen

, but because of the strong gloomy aura, it overwhelms the weak and cowardly good old Tian Gang, forming a subtle dramatic conflict.

This section is a relatively good literary drama in "Daytime Rain". The actor He Chang performed Tian Gang's embarrassing "degree" very appropriately. As for Qin Jue's acting skills, let me, an amateur film enthusiast who occasionally writes scripts, do it.

Talking about it is too complicated, so I’m too lazy to mention it here (laughing).

Let’s talk about Morson’s exclusive “horror film lighting”. When I was watching the movie, I noticed that Director He used two colors as the main tone to create the atmosphere. One is yellow and the other is green.<

/p>

Yellow is a dim yellow, like an old light bulb that has aged for a long time. It only supports a weak warm light and is very dim most of the time.

Green is a miserable green, which seems to merge with the darkness indistinguishably, but it is incompatible with the pure dark tone, and has a strange and weird sense of existence.

I haven’t done much research on color tones and lighting. I personally think that the benchmark for hazy yellow is Tian Gang and Qiu Xue’s warm daily colors. The light used by this young couple when they are in love or working is very natural and comfortable. Overall, it is warm and occasionally warm.

A bit ambiguous warm color scheme. However, when switching to the scenes of Mawson and the female white-collar worker, Mawson and the staff, although the picture is also orange and yellow, it is more or less dim, which is obviously a hint of the atmosphere.

As for the miserable green, this one is so classic. The whole forest in the rainy night is this quiet and scary miserable green, so green that it turns black. Speaking of Revenge He Ye, what impressed me most was Cao Hao’s flashlight

Light, the picture was very dark at that time, only heavy

With the sound of rain, the flashlight held by Cao Hao was very bright. The yellow and white light shone all the way on Mo Sen like a stage spotlight. When the camera cut away, Mo Sen looked like a weird white-skinned monster. My heart stopped for a moment when I saw it.

For two seconds.

What a coincidence, the clip where Mawson follows the female white-collar worker is also this kind of sinister green on the screen.

Obviously the light at the subway entrance is not of this color, but I heard that Director He used natural light when shooting. I really don’t know how he took the photo.

Especially at the end of this paragraph, Mo Sen holds the knife and presses the white-collar worker against the wall. The door of the white-collar worker's home is open a crack, and the corridor light is yellowish. However, because the white-collar worker has not had time to turn on the entrance light, there is a strange scene inside the door.

The dark green color is almost the same as that of a grove on a rainy night. It is particularly eerie and will create a cognitive reflection in the audience after repeated visits.

So sure enough, when Qiu Xue moved to Tian Gang's residence later, and when I went home and went up the stairs at night, the audience around me took a breath, thinking that "the appearance of this dim green" = "Moson is about to commit a crime."<

/p>

By the way, the thriller rhythm here is also quite good, and it is worth studying and learning. Unfortunately, I am a little tired of filling in the content at this point. I will talk about it when I have time.

[Additional content: The rhythm part was written in the comment of the movie review next door, sorry for being lazy.]

Finally, I will casually write about the memories and common soft lights in "Daytime Rain". Director He's level is at this level. Moreover, everyone can use the soft light filter, so I don't say how good it is. It all depends on the director's skill in using it.

As long as it is used skillfully and appropriately, the effect will be good.

Whether it's Qiu Xue's personal memories, Tian Gang's recollection of his high school days, or the montage performance at the end, each has its own flavor under the blessing of soft light.

By the way...Tian Gang's memory killing filter is basically soft white light, while the memory killing (school bullying part) from Mawson's perspective is basically green, including being used as a living target in the classroom and outdoors.

The main color of the swill clip is a kind of empty green. It is bright or not, and it does not have the freshness and vitality that green usually gives people. It is very empty and weird, even a little supernatural, like a nightmare.<

/p>

I wonder if this is also a metaphor for Mawson’s spiritual world.

okk, this is the end of this long review that is not very professional. Please forgive me for all the nonsense it contains. In short, I congratulate "Day Rain" on its success at the international film festival, and hope that Dragon Kingdom movies will become more and more popular.

The better.

……

Xie Qingyan's computer screen was divided into two. On the left was a certain film review page, and on the right was a self-created text document. She looked at it and excerpted it with a serious expression.

When he saw the penultimate sentence "Mo Sen's spiritual world", Xie Qingyan called up two files labeled "Qin Jue - Mo Sen (filming period)" and "Qin Jue - Mo Sen (official materials)"

Clip, flip through the extremely large number of pictures one by one, and look at Qin Jue's eyes in the picture.

She observed so attentively that her face looked a little cold. However, after looking at it for a while, the cold expression on her face changed, and she became more emotional and distressed.

After taking a sip of coffee that was still warm, Xie Qingyan opened a small notebook of the same style as Qin Jue's and wrote down a few points worthy of attention on the paper.

After completing these preliminary preparations, she solemnly opened "A Hundred Years of Light and Shadow" and listened to Qin Jue's own opinions and answers across the page and text.
