Simple popular science about the myth of Cthulhu(1/2)

In view of the fact that more and more outer gods are appearing in the old days, and in order to retain the neurotic and crazy style of Cthulhu, my writing is somewhat crazy, which makes many readers a little confused. Here is a single chapter to explain.

Because Cthulhu is divided into several factions, this explanation only represents personal understanding.

Don’t be too serious when it comes to studying the Party. If you make any mistakes, please correct me.

First of all, the Cthulhu mythology system is theoretically non-hierarchical.

The Outer God is a type of Old One.

The entire world is the dream universe created by [Outer God Azathoth], so the rules are twisted, chaotic, crazy, and disorderly.

Once Azathoth awakens, all things will be annihilated and the universe will cease to exist.

One of the things the three pillar gods are doing is to put Azathoth into eternal sleep.

Below is the stupid and despicable Taibai, who uses shallow and ignorant knowledge to classify the gods and creatures in the world of Cthulhu, for reference only.

【First character】

Outer God Azathoth. (Supreme God, Undisputed)

Note: Although Azathoth falls into a deep sleep, he can still be summoned if he masters the correct summoning ritual.

However, the most that is summoned is a branch spirit, and most of the summoners do not end well.

【Second Person】

The Three Pillars of God—Yog-Sothoth, Shub-Nikolath, and Nyarlathotep;

Star of Judgment Gherroth;

Chaos Xexixuecrus of the split of the original universe;

Outer God Ignagnisz.

These few can be simply understood as the first generation of outer gods.

——·——

The Three Pillar Gods are entities born from the "darkness", "nameless fog" and "chaos" of Azathoth.

The union of Yog-Sothoth and Shub-Nicholas gave birth to countless outer gods and rulers of the past, so Shub is also known as the Supreme Mother Goddess.

Nyarlathotep, also known as: The God of Many Faces. He has countless incarnations. Some of these incarnations are alien gods, some are the old ones, and some are simply humans.

Rumor has it that it was His human incarnation that promoted the birth of the atomic bomb.

——·——

The Star of Judgment, Gherroth, was transformed by Azathoth's desire to wake up, so he has always wanted to wake up Azathoth.

Theoretically, his power is more powerful than the Three Pillar Gods.

In order to prevent him from awakening Azathoth, the Three Pillars fooled the Shagai Zerg and used them to summon the Star of Judgment, banishing them to the edge of the universe.

——·——

Chaos Xexixukruth, who split the original universe, is the direct descendant of Azathoth's split, and is said to be superior to the three pillar gods.

However, He is a god who operates according to instinct and generally does not interfere with other gods.

He has torma characteristics and is also the ancestor of Cthulhu, the god of toads.

——·——

Finally, the Outer God Ignagnisz.

He is special!

He is a contemporary of Azathoth, and is theoretically the same person as Azathoth.

However, in the original work, he was defeated by Azathoth.

In addition, he is also one of the ancestors of the gods.

The Queen of Insects, the mother of the Toad God, was split by him. This is one of the fundamental reasons why I admire the character of the Toad God in this book.

It is worth mentioning that it was not created by Luo Lao, the founder of the Cthulhu mythology, but by Smith, which is slightly controversial.

The Book of Ebon considers him to be another name for Azathoth.

"Nome Parchment" also records that He is an individual independent of Azathoth.

The data is quite conflicting, but no matter which one it is, it is enough to rank second.

——·——

All in all, the second-person outer gods are basically the first-generation outer gods derived from Azathoth.

He almost controls the most essential power in the universe, is omnipresent and omniscient.

But most of them will not directly participate in the things in the universe, nor can they appear. The main reason is that they cannot appear.

For example, how do you make the sun appear in front of ants?

Therefore, these external gods often appear in the eyes of other creatures in the form of clones and ghosts.

Their power cannot be compared because they control different areas of authority and cannot be compared at all.

I think that’s it for the second level of Outer God. If you, the reader, think which Outer God can be ranked as the second level, please post a chapter review here. It’s best to take screenshots and some information to support it, so I can edit it in the blank space.

Supplementary.

【Third person】

All outer gods except the first and second persons.

Some of them were conceived by Azathoth in his dream to create the universe, and some were born from the split of the first generation of outer gods. Since the original work is unclear, we will not introduce them here.

Well, there are not many of these outer gods, about twenty or so, and I have basically read through them all.

【Fourth person】

The Old Ones, and the Old Gods.

——·——

The rulers of the old days are basically alien gods, either born from the union of the old days, or from asexual reproduction and division.

The strengths and weaknesses vary, and it is difficult to compare.

If it were a father-son relationship, it would be like...

It's hard to compare the old days that are irrelevant.

Among them, the stronger ones can rival the Outer Gods, such as Cthugha the Detonator, Msisha, Overlord of Tindalos... and so on.

Their power is mainly reflected in some events.

Cthugha dared to challenge Nyarlathotep, and was considered the strongest of the past.

Msisha dared to confront Yog-Sothoth, and because of this, he was awarded the title of Outer God.

I think the main reason for the hard argument here is that their authority has reached the extreme in a certain field, so that even the outer gods can't do anything to them.

Or...too lazy to pay attention to them.

For example, Cthugha's Flame, Msisha's Horn Time...etc.

Weak ones, such as the White Worm, the Shame of the Old One, who was the only dead Old One in the original work.

——·——

Old God.

In the Cthulhu Mythology, the Old Gods were previously called the Old Gods, and were later unified as the Old Gods.

The original work still only contains a few words. After the improvement and summary by later generations, the Old Gods are mainly divided into two sources:

One is the natural birth of the universe, mostly the patron saint of some races.

The second is born from the collective consciousness worship of human beings on earth.

A considerable number of fans of the Cthulhu mythology do not recognize the good and evil setting of "the opposition between the old gods and the old ones" set by Derleth, believing that this is not in line with the essence of the Cthulhu mythology.

——This is essentially like ants looking at humans, unable to understand what those two large moving cylinders are doing?

Why give them honey and why destroy them?

——Therefore, the essence of the Cthulhu Mythos is incomprehensible, nameless, disorderly, and chaotic.

However, some people agree, believing that the opposition between the old days and the old gods is a manifestation of madness and chaos and does not need a reason.

Well, reality has no logic, fiction must have it.

Therefore, one of the personal settings of this book is that the old gods are acquired gods and need to rely on the strength of the population and integrate extraordinary characteristics, so they accept protective beliefs.

It didn't matter in the old days. They were just a group of bloodline monsters, so they naturally didn't care about the survival of other species.
