Biography: Bigu's Life (9) Heroes Helpless

The above mentioned that the subsidies have increased and the price of textbooks has also increased, but you may not have seen the fastest increase before. It is the tuition fee. When I first entered the school, the tuition fee for seniors in Class 1991 was 130 yuan per year, which is a symbolic one. When we entered the school in Class 1992, the annual tuition fee was 350 yuan, which is not much. When we entered the school in Class 1993, the annual tuition fee was 700 yuan, which is in comparison. The expense of going to college still accounts for a small part; the tuition fee for 1,300 yuan per year is still affordable; the tuition fee for 2,500 yuan per year is 2,500 yuan per year, and it is nothing to grit our teeth; when the 996 students entered the school, they had a tuition fee of 4,000 yuan that year. As for now, I don’t know.

When I first reported to the university, my father sent me all the way. The person who picked me up at the train station was an Anhui fellow villager from Jinzhai, Anhui. Have you ever heard of Jinzhai? It was an old revolutionary base, a famous general county in the country. In the war, there were more generals from one county than in other places and provinces.

My dad is very concerned about university life and specifically asked him how much living expenses it takes for a month to study in college. My senior brother told me that his family members promised that he would be 100 yuan a month, which is already a lot. Of course, it is a lot. I know that Jinzhai is not only a famous general county in the country, but also seems to be a famous poor county in Anhui at that time. My senior brother is a student from the countryside, so he took away the 100 yuan a month of living expenses from his family.

After my father returned, he did not ask me according to the standards of the poor county because he knew that I was a bad habit, which was a petty bourgeois style in the present words. He doubled and added half of it, and it was 250 yuan per month, thinking that it was almost enough, but he didn't expect that I would fast, and of course I never told him.

My senior brother is very nice to me. He taught me how to carry a rice bowl to the cafeteria to make food, what dishes are cheap and delicious, how to tear up meal tickets, how to hang clothes in the dormitory cabinet, etc. I often miss him now. I wonder if his children in the same village were admitted to the same university today, would they still be as calm as he used to be? Maybe I should teach the way of fasting in his hometown, but after experiencing the double blow of Qigong master and beggar girl, I no longer dare to show this unique skill. Moreover, before graduating from college, I no longer need to fast.

Why don’t I need fasting before graduating from college? It’s a long story. First of all, a man borrowed me one thousand yuan from my private money when I was in my first year of college (this is also one of the reasons why I started fasting) to trade stocks. He gave me back when I was about to graduate from the fourth year of college, but it was still one thousand yuan. It seemed that I didn’t lose money, so God knew how much I lost. Secondly, I received a scholarship before graduation, which was a lot for me, with a total of 4,000 yuan.

Regarding scholarships, I think it is a dialectical relationship for me. At that time, the first prize of our school’s scholarship was 250, the second prize was 200, and the third prize was 150. For students like me who have good academic performance, they were always qualified to get scholarships, but I never received them until I graduated.

In the first grade, I was completely qualified and at least second-class. However, my classmates in our dormitory were relatively lazy and failed to meet the standards for many hygiene inspections, so I was not awarded a civilized dormitory. According to the school regulations, non-civilized dormitory members cannot receive scholarships, so I was implicated and missed it.

My grades in the second grade are also good, and there is no problem with getting scholarships based on the total score, but I don’t get good at the CET-4 exam, which is my only weakness. What I don’t learn is not that I’m not smart enough, but that I have a natural resistance to English. From going to graduation, students in our country need to spend ten years learning a language that most people will not often use in the future. In fact, most of our students have a much better understanding of English grammar than their mastery of Chinese grammar, and at the same time, most of them can’t speak, listen, or write English. I know the disadvantages and even hate them.

I just can’t get a bachelor’s degree in CET-4, so you have to learn it. I’m very funny. I got 59.5 points in the first CET-4 exam, the highest score among those who failed the exam. I never touched English again in the following year, and I passed the second exam. I don’t know what this kind of exam is.

But it was because I took the first English CET-4 exam in my second grade in college and I got 59.5, and no matter how good my grades in other major courses were, it was useless. As usual, I couldn’t get a scholarship. I even doubted whether this was a Chinese university. Later, when I asked, it was the same in all universities across the country, I began to doubt whether I was in China? - I heard that ten years later, some experts finally remembered a little serious matter and called for "reform" to "reform". I was not very clear.

In the third grade, I have very good academic performance, and I have no problem winning the first prize. Let me give you two examples:

The first example is the core course of our mechanical manufacturing major - machine tool design. I don’t know if it’s because our teachers are too traditional or for some other reason. Our professional textbooks are basically based on a CA410 lathe designed by the Soviet Union in the 1950s. Although it is a bit old, it is difficult enough. One-third of our students in our class scored exactly 60 points in the exam - the teachers in this department are always merciless. I got the highest score in history - 97 points, and I was also very confused. What I was confused about was not why I took the exam so well, but where the teacher deducted me three points. There is also a tradition of never giving full marks in engineering professional courses.

The second example is modern physics in university physics. This course is difficult. Because it is difficult, teachers usually don’t catch people, but it is an exception to our major. The professor who teaches this course is a hard and thin old man. There are about 100 people in four classes in our major in class in a large classroom. The teacher’s voice is low and most of them can’t understand what they say. Therefore, the students usually hold small discussions themselves and suppress the teacher’s voice.

The teacher was very old-fashioned and disgusted with the noise in the classroom. After all, these students didn't listen. Once, they were angry and had a heart attack. They fainted on the podium while reaching out to take the medicine. It was very dangerous. These students were in trouble this time. I can't remember how many people were caught in the formal exam. I only remember that there were about 100 people in our major. After the first make-up exam, twenty-two people still failed. One of the MMs who often studied with me got 17 points. At that time, I got 82 points, not the first, but the second, not because I was particularly good at physics, but because I had a premonition and put some effort in the library.

Unfortunately, even so, I still haven't received the scholarship. This is probably related to the system. I am not a student cadre. At that time, the scholarships for each class were from the class monitor and the report to the department. Our class monitor had a nosebleed during those days, and probably didn't feel very good, so I forgot about it. After the list came out, only the class monitor in our dormitory won the third prize, but I didn't. I went to the counselor to ask for an explanation, and the department gave me a certificate of "Special Contribution Award". As for the money, the matter was over, and the school could not give it to me.

Feng Shui in this world takes turns. The grievances I suffered for three years were made up for once when I graduated. This time I won the 4,000 Oceans - The Outstanding Graduate Award. The reason is very simple. After graduation, I went to a nuclear power plant under construction. At that time, people thought that the nuclear power plant was a barren mountain. In fact, it was not. I have been to that place. It was a small Jiangnan county town, right on the beach, and there was a famous scenic spot next to it. You can ride a bicycle to see Qiantang Chao. The journey from Shanghai, Wuxi and Hangzhou is about two hours away. This time, you can take advantage of it.

In the last period of college, I was very rich and had no fasting. I remember that on the night I received the bonus, almost all the classmates went to the barbecue restaurant. In the end, there were four students who could walk by themselves, and I didn’t know how to get everyone back. Later, I met the owner of this barbecue restaurant, and the boss said to me: "You drank all the beer in the store, and I mixed all the beer in the later stages, otherwise you would definitely not be able to drink like that."

Please help me evaluate this boss: If he sells beer mixed with water, I should hate him, but now he told me that his beer mixed with water. There were objective reasons for the situation at that time, and I seemed to thank him. How do I want me to evaluate this boss who provides wine and meat?

First: He will continue to sell mixed wine and meat for the same reason, but he will dress himself up as a moral hero.

Second: If one day he announces that he will no longer sell mixed wine and meat, do people need to praise his realm for being sublimated?

Third: When people really come to that day, when they recall that he once sold mixed wine and meat, do we need to be glad that they were not living in the past? Who told him that he was the boss and I was not?

This is my last experience in college. Because this experience even made me feel that the days when I used to drink and eat meat were not so real, but fasting was real and clear.
