Chapter 1277 Asia is missing

When Sokov learned that the field hospital was attacked, he was anxious. He was worried that something might happen to Asia. On the way to the 182nd Division defense zone, the driver was already risking his car and driving rapidly on the road full of bullet craters, but Sokov still felt that the speed of the car was as slow as a snail.
The jeep was parked at the entrance of the 182nd Division. Samoilov had just pushed open the car door and was about to go back and help Sokov open the car door. Unexpectedly, his feet were just stepping on the ground, but when he saw Sokov pushing the door, he jumped out and carried the assault rifle and rushed into the division headquarters.
The two sentries standing at the door saw a small convoy parked at the entrance of the division department. While guessing the origin of the other party, they saw an officer carrying a gun rushing out of one of the jeeps and breaking straight into the division headquarters. They were about to reach out to stop each other, but they saw clearly that the person who was entering was Sokov. They stopped quickly and raised their hands to their foreheads to salute him.
When Sokov broke into the division command, he saw Colonel Khokhlov, Political Commissar Colonel Sepirov and Chief of Staff standing by the wall with his back facing the door, looking up at the map hanging on it.
"Hello, comrades in command!" Sokov stepped into the room and asked at the three of them, "How is the situation now?"
Hearing Sokov's voice, the three of them quickly turned around and raised their hands neatly to salute Sokov. Among them, the political commissar Colonel Sepilov said with a sad look: "I'm sorry, Comrade Commander, you have alarmed so late."
Sokov was eager to know Asia's situation, so he raised his hand to interrupt Sepirov's words and asked directly: "Who can you tell me what happened and what is happening in the field hospital now?"
After the three of them looked at each other, the Chief of Staff took a step forward, straightened his back and said to Sokov: "Comrade Commander, please allow me to report to you."
Sokov put the assault rifle in his hand on the table: "Tell me."
"A hour ago, I heard fierce gunfire coming from the direction of the field hospital, so I called the hospital immediately, but I still couldn't get through. I knew something might have happened, so I notified the division commander and political commissar, and asked the guard battalion to draw a company to the direction of the hospital, but figured out what was going on."
"Comrade Chief of Staff," Sokov looked at the Chief of Staff and asked lightly: "What the hell is going on there?"
"As far as I know, there was probably a platoon of enemies who were dressed up as our army, secretly crossing the defense line of our army, trying to sneak attack our division command." The Chief of Staff reported to Sokov: "They accidentally entered the location of the field hospital, and the sentry on duty discovered their identity, and then the fire broke out."
"Has the sentry on duty seen through his identity?" Sokov thought that since the German army disguised as the Soviet army, they would definitely pay attention to details that were easy to get into. Besides, the enemy still appeared at night. How could the sentry easily see through the enemy? Does he have sharp eyes? He asked curiously: "How did he see through the enemy?"
"It's very simple, comrade Commander." The Chief of Staff glanced at the assault rifle that Sokov placed on the table and continued: "Although the enemy was wearing our uniforms, they also had our standard weapons: the Popov submachine gun and the Mosinnagan rifle. But they never dreamed that our division had all replaced the assault rifles before the Battle of Kursk.
In the middle of the night, a group of soldiers carrying Bobosha submachine guns and Mosinnagan rifles appeared in the defense zone of our division. Even if they were wearing our uniforms, it would definitely arouse suspicion of the sentry. After a few words, the other party immediately exposed the filling, and the two were convenient for the exchange of fire."
"Is the field hospital fighting not over yet?" Sokov asked anxiously, listening to the gunshots and sporadic explosions from afar, "Our wounded and medical staff will not be harmed, right?"
As soon as Sokov said, the Chief of Staff, who was still talking about the situation, suddenly became silent. After he stopped reporting, he looked at Khokhlov and Sepirov beside him, hoping that the two of them could help him.
"Comrade Commander," saw the Chief of Staff's expression with a embarrassed expression, Shepilov coughed softly and said to Sokov with some embarrassment: "Although the battle in the field hospital is still going on, the guard companies we sent here have wiped out most of the enemies, and most of the wounded and medical staff in the hospital have rescued."
Sokov heard Sepirov say it very generally, so he guessed that there were still many wounded and medical staff who had not escaped, and Asia was one of them. Although she and Asia were just nominal couples, she was in danger now, so how could she stand by and watch?
Thinking of this, Sokov stood up, grabbed the assault rifle on the table in his hand, and said to the three of them: "Send two soldiers to guide me, and I want to go to the field hospital in person."
"Comrade Commander," Khokhlov quickly stopped him and persuaded, "It's too dangerous, you can't take your life with your own risk."
"Col. My wife is in danger. I will rush over and rescue him immediately." Sokov glared at Khokhlov and said, "Get out of here!"
"Comrade Commander, you can't take risks." Shepilov hurriedly blocked Sokov and persuaded: "Asia, please rest assured that we will rescue her safely."
"Get out of the way!" Sokov pushed away the two colonels in front of him and said angrily: "You only need to send someone to guide me, and the soldiers I brought with them are fully capable of destroying the enemy."
Seeing Sokov's stubbornness, Khokhlov knew that he could not dissuade him, so he could only turn his head to the Chief of Staff and Sepirov and say, "You two stay in the division headquarters to control the overall situation. I personally accompany the commander to the field hospital."
When Sokov and Khokhlov came out of the division headquarters, Samoilov came up to him. He had learned about what happened in the field hospital from the soldiers outside the door. Seeing Sokov come out, he asked straight to the point: "Comrade Commander, there is a fight in the field hospital. Asia may be in danger. Do we need to rush over and rescue her?"
"Comrade Lieutenant, you're right." Sokov nodded and replied, "Now Asia is in danger, we're going to rush over and save her."
Sokov and others led the guard platoon and under the guidance of Khokhlov, they arrived at the location of the field hospital, where sporadic battles were still taking place. Although the visibility was not high and there were fighting everywhere, Sokov still accurately judged the location of the German army based on the gunfire.
He turned to the guard platoon soldiers standing behind him and said, "Comrades, an enemy wearing our uniforms sneaked into the field hospital and exchanged fire with our troops. Since they didn't know that we had all changed into assault rifles, the weapons that were equipped with Popov submachine guns and Mosinnagan rifles. As long as there is a place where the two weapons fire sounds come, it is the enemy's hiding place. Your mission is to eliminate them completely."
"Action, brothers." As soon as Samoilov finished speaking, he immediately ordered his subordinates: "Now Asia is in danger. Even if you sacrifice your life, you must ensure her safety."
After hearing what Samoilov said, the soldiers of the guard platoon agreed loudly, they separated in groups of three people and formed a battle formation, and rushed towards the position where the enemy might be hidden.
Worried about Sokov's safety, Samoilov personally led two soldiers to follow him and rushed forward with him. Soldiers appeared from time to time along the way. As long as they were not holding assault rifles, Samoilov fired without hesitation to knock the other party down. As for whether there would be accidental injuries, he had no choice but to consider so much.
Field hospitals are located in a residential area, with two-story buildings. But most of them were destroyed by German artillery fire or bombs, and some ruins were built next to them, and the wounded lived in these tents.
Sokov lifted the curtain of one of the tents and immediately smelled a strong smell of blood. With the help of the fire from afar, he saw clearly that seven or eight wounded people were lying in the tent. They were lying motionless on the cold ground, probably dead for a long time.
After Sokov left the tent, a soldier pointed to a broken wall not far away and whispered to him: "Comrade Commander, I heard a sound behind the broken wall."
"Is it the enemy?" Sokov asked.
The warrior shook his head and replied, "I don't want to. I seem to hear a woman's voice."
Knowing that there was a woman behind the broken wall, Sokov immediately thought that maybe Asia was hiding there, so he walked over quickly. When he approached, although he heard some movement behind the wall, it seemed that the person inside was frightened.
Sokov stopped in front of the broken wall and whispered, "Listen to the person inside, I am my own, don't be afraid." After the movement inside stopped, he continued, "I'm going to go over, don't shoot, so as not to be injured by accident."
Sokov bypassed the broken wall and used the firelight to see clearly that it was a female health worker curled up in the corner of the wall. She was frightened and her face was pale and her hands and feet were shaking. She stuffed her mouth with her fists and tried not to make a sound, so as not to alarm the possible enemies nearby, with tears in her eyes.
"Have the enemies left?" the female health officer saw Sokov's uniform clearly and asked in a mosquito-sounding voice, fearing that Sokov would say that the enemy was still outside.
"Don't worry, comrades in the health care worker, the enemy has been driven away by us." Sokov couldn't help feeling a little disappointed when he saw that the person behind the broken wall was not Asia. Seeing that the female health care worker was too frightened, he bent down, touched her head, and comforted him: "You are safe now."
Hearing Sokov's answer, the female health worker's whole body seemed to be exhausted and began to cry loudly. Sokov knew that her crying at this moment was to relieve her tension, and there was no harm in crying properly. He turned around and rushed to Samoilov who followed in and gestured to him to comfort the female health worker, and then turned around and left the place with the two soldiers.
The reason why the guard company and the troops guarding the hospital were unable to eliminate the sneak attacks was entirely because the Germans wore uniforms like themselves, which made the soldiers unable to accurately distinguish the enemy and us. Khokhlov heard what Sokov said to his subordinates.
As soon as Sokov led his men away, Khokhlov immediately called several soldiers to convey the way to the troops who were fighting against the enemy through weapons.
Although some of the commanders and soldiers fighting against the enemy know to identify the enemy and us through weapons, most people do not know this. Some soldiers with bad luck even thought that the other party was their own when they faced with the enemy. Unexpectedly, as soon as they turned around, they were shot by the enemy with a cold gun.
How to identify the enemy and me at this moment? Once promoted in the combat troops, everyone knows that the enemy and me can be identified through weapons. As long as you find that the weapon in the other party is different from yours, you will immediately shoot without hesitation. As for whether it is accidentally injured, it is not within everyone's consideration. Even if you know that the person who is being knocked down is his own, you can only blame the other party for being unlucky. Who told you to use the enemy's weapons for nothing?
The battle ended half an hour later, and Khokhlov sent people to start counting the battlefield. At this time, the role of Sokov ordered everyone to wear identity cards was fully utilized. The commanders and soldiers of the 182nd Division could distinguish the enemy and us based on the identity cards on the corpse in the shortest time.
After completing the statistics, Khokhlov came over to report to Sokov: "Comrade Commander, the results of the battle have been counted."
"How are our casualties?"
"Three hundred and fifty-seven people were sacrificed, of which 240 were wounded." Khochlov reported: "There were sixty-one enemies who were shot dead by us."
After hearing the casualties reported by Khokhlov, Sokov's mouth twitched violently. He really didn't expect that the enemy's sneak attack would actually make the casualties of his side six times that of the other side. It would not be an exaggeration to describe it as a heavy casualties.
After taking a deep breath, Sokov asked tentatively: "Have you found Asia?"
"No."
"What, not found?"
"Comrade Commander, don't worry." Seeing Sokov's eyes wide open, Khokhlov quickly comforted him and said, "I didn't send you a notice of death. Although we did not find Asia in the survivors, nor did we find her in the body."
