Chapter 177 'Old Friends' Reunion

Accompanied by political workers and an Interior Officer, Elizabeth boarded the plane parked on the simple runway. As soon as she entered the cabin, she was discovered by Sokov, who was sitting next to Rokosovsky's stretcher.
"Hey, Elizabeth?" Seeing Elizabeth who unexpectedly appeared in the cabin, Sokov stood up instinctively and asked in surprise: "Are you going to Moscow too?"
Elizabeth saw Sokov who was familiar with her, and a sweet smile appeared on her face. She nodded slightly. Just as she was about to answer Sokov's question, she followed the officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs behind her and suddenly said: "Don't talk to outsiders!"
"I'm not an outsider." Sokov stared at the officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs opposite and said coldly: "Comrade Lieutenant, I am Major Sokov, the battalion commander of the Istrian Battalion. I personally sent Lieutenant Elizabeth to the Army Command a few hours ago."
"Major Sokov, I have never heard of this person." The Interior Officer who had just arrived from Moscow in the morning said with disdain after hearing Sokov's self-reporter: "Don't talk about a small major, even if the major general meets me, he will not dare to be as arrogant as you."
The accompanying political workers saw a hint of anger on Sokov's face, fearing that the two of them would fight in the cabin. Although this possibility was not great, he still had to be on guard against it, so he quickly stood between them and said to Sokov first: "Comrade Major, don't be angry, don't be angry. This is all a misunderstanding."
If the political workers had not come out in time to smooth things over, perhaps in the next moment, Sokov's fist would directly hit the face of the officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and beat him up with a peach blossom on his face. He was thinking in his heart: Others are afraid of your Ministry of Internal Affairs, but I am not afraid. Even if you beat you, will your superiors send me to the military court for you?
After the political workers comforted Sokov, they approached the officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and muttered a few words in a low voice. Although Sokov didn't know what he said to the other party, the officer's face soon showed a look of surprise. Sokov did not pay attention to the two of them, but sat down again, patted the empty seat beside him, and said to Elizabeth: "Elizabeth, just sit here."
When Elizabeth heard Sokov say this, a smile appeared on her face again. She walked to Sokov, turned around gracefully, and sat down in the empty seat beside him. The officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs saw that Elizabeth was sitting next to Sokov. Although he was extremely dissatisfied, he thought of what the political workers said to him in his heart and could only suppress the anger in his heart.
The seat of the C-47 transport plane is on both sides of the cabin, with an aisle in the middle. The officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs sat opposite Sokov and stared at the other party with a fierce look. If the eyes could kill people, even if Sokov was not dead at this moment, he would still be covered in scars.
Elizabeth noticed the hatred gaze of the internal officer, and looked at Sokov with some concern. He found that the latter's face not only had no expression of nervousness, but also looked at the other party carelessly, as if he was fighting with his eyes. In order to resolve this embarrassing situation, Elizabeth quickly raised his hand and pushed Sokov, and whispered to Rokosovsky who was parked in the aisle, and asked with concern: "Mr. Major, don't know how the commander's injury is?"
"The injury is not light." Although Rokosovsky is still unconscious at this moment, Sokov is not worried at all, because the wartime marshal would shine in the days after the Patriotic War and would not die so easily. Therefore, he said in a relaxed tone: "But Comrade Commander has a good physique. After staying in the hospital for two months, he will be able to return to the front line again."
After saying this, he felt that some of the names Elizabeth used sounded particularly awkward, so he took the opportunity to correct it and said, "Elizabeth, now you are not in the German army, some names should be changed."
Elizabeth looked at Sokov suspiciously and asked, "Mr. Major, can you say it more specifically?"
"For example," Sokov said to Rokosovsky on the stretcher, "we all call him Comrade Commander, not the Commander. And I," Sokov continued, pointing his finger at his nose, "You should call me my name, or I Comrade Major. Do you understand?"
"I understand, Mr. Major... No, it's Comrade Major." Elizabeth said the new difficult-to-mouth title, and breathed a sigh of relief and asked nervously: "Have I used the right title this time?"
"Not bad," Sokov nodded and said in an approving tone: "Your title this time is completely correct. Remember, after you call the other party's official position, you will add a comrade to the back. Do you understand?"
"I understand, Comrade Major."
The officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs sitting opposite, seeing Sokov and Elizabeth talking and laughing, his eyes were almost spitting out of fire. His hand unconsciously reached to his waist and put it on the holster, ready to pull out his gun and shoot at Sokov at any time. Fortunately, the political worker sitting next to him noticed his abnormality, quickly held down his hand, shook his head slightly, and signaled him not to act rashly.
The officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs thought of the secret that the political worker told him when he first got on the plane, so he could only sigh inwardly, remove his hand from the gun holster, raise his head back, lean against the bulkhead behind him, close his eyes and start to rest.
Fortunately, the distance from Suxinic to Moscow was not far. After only half an hour, the plane landed in front of the open space in front of Dimiryazef Agricultural College.
After the plane stopped, the pilot lowered the gangway and Sokov was the first to get off the plane. A lieutenant colonel walked over from an ambulance parked next to him and asked with a serious expression: "Is it Major Sokov?"
"Yes, comrade Lieutenant Colonel. I am Major Sokov." Seeing an officer with a higher rank than his own question, Sokov quickly raised his hand and saluted him: "I was ordered to escort the injured army commander General Rokosovsky to the military hospital in Moscow for treatment."
"Comrade Major." After returning a greeting, the lieutenant colonel continued, "From now on, your mission has been completed, and the rest will be left to us to handle." After that, he waved his hand to the several soldiers standing behind him and ordered, "Go and lift the general off the plane."
Sokov watched several soldiers get on the plane with their hands and feet, and asked the lieutenant colonel curiously: "Comrade Lieutenant Colonel, where should I go next?"
"You stay here," said Lieutenant Colonel to Sokov, "I think someone will pick you up." After that, he nodded at Sokov, then turned around and walked away.
After a while, Rokosovsky was lifted from the plane by several soldiers, stuffed it into the ambulance that had just arrived, and rushed towards the teaching building hundreds of meters away like lightning.
As soon as Elizabeth got off the plane, two black cars immediately drove to her, carried her, the political staff, and the internal officer, and drove to the distance.
The staff member walked to Sokov and asked blankly: "Comrade Major, where are we going now? Should we stay in Moscow, or return to Sushinic immediately?"
"Wait a minute, Comrade Captain." Sokov turned his head and said to the staff officer: "The lieutenant colonel just told me that his superiors would send someone to pick us up, so we should wait patiently here."
Fortunately, the two of them didn't wait long before a black car drove over and drove to the side of them. Sokov stared at the car parked beside them and thought to himself: Is the people in the car here to pick us up?
The back door of the car opened and a captain officer came out from inside. As soon as he saw Sokov, he immediately smiled and shouted excitedly: "Misha, I'm here to pick you up!"
Sokov was stunned when he heard the other party call his nickname. But after he saw the other party clearly, he couldn't help but scream in surprise: "Yakov Jugashvili, is it you?"
