Chapter 757 War correspondent? (Part 1)

Before leaving the archives building, Sokov summoned all the soldiers from the guard platoon into the hall and said to them: "Comrades, have you all seen the four children around me? Their families were all killed by the Germans. Now I will take them back to Mamayev. Before leaving, I want to ask everyone to ensure their safety no matter what danger we encounter on the road. Can you do it?"
After Sokov finished speaking, the soldiers in the hall immediately replied loudly: "We can do it!"
After listening to the soldiers' replies, Sokov nodded with satisfaction, bent down to pick up Lilia, and he loudly issued an order: "Go!" Samoilov and two other soldiers stepped forward and picked up the three boys, followed closely behind Sokov.
When Sokov walked into the command center, Sidolin and Ivanov, who were sitting at the table chatting, hurriedly stood up and greeted him: "Comrade Commander, you are back!"
"I'm back!" Sokov nodded and asked casually: "What's the daytime war in Mamayevgang?"
"The enemy did not attack for the whole day," answered Cidolin.
"What, the enemy did not attack?" Sidolin's words surprised Sokov. He asked in surprise: "Chief of Staff, are you saying that the enemy did not attack Mamayev's hill for the whole day today?"
"That's right, comrade of the division commander." Cidolin replied affirmatively: "Even the battle in the workers' new village is not fierce. The attacking Romanian army was about to collapse and had no intention of fighting."
After Sidolin finished reporting, he accidentally saw the four children behind Sokov, and a surprised expression appeared on his face: "Comrade Teacher, where did these children emerge?"
"It was found by Lieutenant Samoilov in the sewer of the archive building." Sokov held Lilia's hand and gently pulled her to himself, saying to Sidorin and Ivanov standing in front of him: "Their parents were both killed by the Germans."
"These damn German guys!" Ivanov slapped the table hard and said angrily: "It's not that I owe us a lot of blood debts, sooner or later we will ask them for blood debts."
"Yes, comrade of the deputy division commander. The day we will pay back the blood debt from the Germans will come sooner or later." After Sokov said these two sentences to Ivanov, he directly ordered Cydolin: "Chief of Staff, call the health team and ask Asia to come here immediately."
Cidolin agreed, quickly picked up the phone and asked the operator to connect to the health team. When he heard someone talking, he said to the microphone: "I am Cidolin. Please tell Asia, and the division commander came back from outside and asked her to come immediately."
After putting down the phone, Sidolin saw Sokov call the children to sit down on the bench against the wall and arrange to pour tea for them. Ivanov took out a piece of chocolate from his pocket and spread it to the children. Seeing this, Sidolin quickly called a staff officer and asked, "You go to the logistics department to ask, do you still have chocolate in stock?"
"Okay, Comrade Chief of Staff." The staff member nodded: "I'll go right away."
The logistics department was not far from the division headquarters. In less than five minutes, the staff officer ran back panting, holding a few pieces of dark chocolate in his hand, and said to Cydolin: "Chief of Staff, the comrade of the logistics department said that since the superiors have not provided us with new supplies recently, these pieces of chocolate left in stock."
Cidolin pointed at the children sitting by the wall and ordered the staff: "Hurry up and give it to the children."
As soon as the staff officer walked away, a man broke in from outside and kept shouting: "Misha, Misha!"
Cidolin looked at it and it turned out to be Asia, so he smiled at her and said, "Asia, you are here!"
Unexpectedly, Asia rushed over, grabbed Cidolin's arm, and asked in a panic look: "Chief of Staff, where is Misha? Is he injured again?"
Before Sidolin could figure out what was going on, Sokov's voice came from the corner of the wall: "Who said I was injured?"
"Misha!" Asia, who was frightened, heard Sokov's voice full of confidence, and his heart hung in his throat returned to her stomach. She rushed to Sokov quickly, looked him up and down, and asked in surprise: "Since you are not injured, what should I do when I rush to the command center?"
Sidolin, who was standing aside, heard Asia say this, and only then did he realize that he had not made it clear on the phone, which led to Asia misunderstanding. Sokov only heard that he said to Asia: "Asia, there is another important thing I call you here."
Sokov said as he flashed his body aside and let the children sitting on the bench appear in front of Asia, "We just saved these children. You just happened to have a medical box, so check them to see if there are any injuries on your body."
Seeing the children who suddenly appeared in front of him, Asia was shocked: "Misha, where did these children emerge?"
Sokov quickly told Asia in detail the origin of these children and everything they had experienced recently. After hearing what these children had experienced, Asia's tears suddenly flowed down. She opened her arms, held all four children in her arms, and said excitedly: "Children, you have suffered!"
Asia hugged the children, Sokov did not interrupt her. When Asia started to check the children's health, he said, "Asia, after you check the children's health later, you will take them back to the health team. You will take care of them before I find a way to send them out of Stalingrad."
"Don't worry, Misha." Asia turned back to Sokov and said, "I will take care of them as my children, and I will never let them be wronged."
Seeing that Asia agreed to her request, Sokov squatted down in front of the children and said to them: "Children, you will follow Asia to the health team later, and she will take care of you. Do you know?"
"I understand!" the four children replied neatly.
After arranging the children's affairs, Sokov suddenly realized that he had been back for so long and had not seen the political commissar Anisimov, so he asked Ivanov: "Deputy Commander, where has the political commissar gone? Why haven't I seen him?"
"Comrade Commander, at noon, we received a call from the Group Army Command, saying that there were war correspondents from Moscow who were going to Mamayevgang for an interview and asked the political commissar to pick them up."
The defense battle of Stalingrad has been going on for several months, and there are quite a few war correspondents here to interview, but no one has ever been to Mamayevgang. Sokov scratched the back of his head and asked curiously: "It seems that this is the first time that we have been to Stalingrad for so long. By the way, how many people have the political commissar brought to ensure the safety of the reporters?"
