Chapter 133 [Point Defender, Passing First]

In the third quarter, the Spurs sent "two towers" to the inside, and continued to rely on pick-and-roll on the offensive end, support the inside, and fight against the Lakers for offense.

The score leads, and the Zen master's arrangement is reserved. He asked Guo Xu and O'Neal to rest. Kobe, who had been resting for 5 minutes in the second half of the second quarter, led the main attacker. The other four were Brian Shaw, Ledel, Horry, and Grant.

The Lakers lost their strongest three-pointers and their core inside, and their offensive firepower was significantly weakened.

The Spurs' offense was very smooth, and the two inside players were unable to bear it, whether they retreated the basket or attacked at low posts.

O'Neal defends against a power forward like Marik Ross, but he can cover most of the penalty area as long as he is present, forcing his opponent to shoot from a distance from the basket.

Horry doesn't have such ability. He is 206CM tall and weighs only 100 kilograms. His style is similar to the weakened version of Zhu Wan Howard. He is a small forward, has good mobility, good pick-and-roll defense, and is almost impressed to protect the penalty area.

Grant is more difficult to defend Duncan alone. Duncan's offense is a skillful move. He has been able to create space for action with simple steps and turns. Both central shots and throws make it difficult for the opponent to block. If you want to defend Duncan, you have to be taller than him and stronger than him.

Brian Shaw defends Daniels Sangkor, but he has poor shooting on the offensive end and has no organization. O'Pang is not there, and he has no attributes of being good at lobing O'Neal. He leads the ball over half and passes it to Kobe.

Ke Ruoyan obtained the right to take action but no chance to fight one-on-one. He encountered double-teams as soon as he entered the three-point line. He chose to shoot strongly and chose to pass the ball, but his teammates were not capable enough.

For nearly 6 minutes, the Spurs have been pressing against the Lakers. Jackson doesn't call a timeout. He is waiting for Kobe to "gods to the earth" like Jordan. Sometimes Kobe is really so fierce, but not today.

At 6 minutes and 12 seconds, Duncan scored with Grant's single-handed goalkeeper at the basket, leading the team to a 20-4 wave, narrowing the gap to single digits, 70-62.

Many fans couldn't stand it anymore and shouted O'Neal's name on the sidelines. Jackson finally asked for a timeout. He used to be half a beat slower, but today he was a beat slower.

Hovas sighed: "The Lakers really cannot live without O'Neal. Once he gets off the court, the Spurs' double tower power will be exerted. Without him, the Lakers will be another team. I guess I can't even play in the playoffs."

Woodson agreed and smiled: "Maybe Jackson wants O'Nealdo to rest for a while. If he keeps fighting against the Twin Towers, he will be very tired. I think Jackson's mistake in using people is to replace Jason Guo. If he is on the court, there will be two powerful attack points on the outside, and the attack will definitely be better."

Facts have proved that Kobe is really not able to lead the team independently, even if his overall strength can rank first in the league.

In Guo Xu's previous life, Kobe was stronger than now in the three seasons of 2004-2007. His best result was to lead the team to the playoffs and he couldn't pass the first round. It was not until Paul Gasol joined that the Lakers had a new inside axis, and the support of second-rate star Odom, that the Lakers were operating as a whole.

Jackson sent a trident, and his tactics were the same as in the second quarter. Guo Xu held the ball and distributed the ball. He could fight by himself or play pick-and-roll with Horry in the middle, break through and pass the ball to Kobe, and Kobe attacked by himself or passed by O'Neal to help the opponent create opportunities.

With a good partner, Kobe was relaxed. Guo Xu played the pick-and-roll and attracted Robinson to replace the defense. The ball was passed on the side. Kobe beat Anderson in the right frame. After exploring the steps, he broke through the bottom line and was blocked. He leaned on the ball with his back and waved his left shoulder slightly, turned around and leaned back and jumped back, hitting two points with 50 degrees.

72 to 62, Kobe is the team's "point guard nemesis" and "the king of spitting cakes". It is difficult for point guard teammates to add data with him, and it is difficult to think of 5 assists. But with a simple cooperation, the Spurs cannot double-team Kobe.

The Spurs attacked and Daniels faced Guo Xu with the ball, which seemed to be an obvious misalignment.

Facing Guo Xu's close body, Daniels leaned back and turned around and failed to break through, so he chose to pass the ball to Anderson, who was running without the ball. The latter took the ball and took action, and missed the attack under the interference of Horry's defense. Duncan grabbed the frontcourt rebound and distributed it to Daniels for another organization.

Daniels was then closely guarded the ball and observed his teammate's running position by Guo Xu. He drove two steps and gave Elliott. The latter had no chance under Fox's defense and passed the ball again.

With 24 seconds at a glance, Duncan beat O'Neal one-on-one and turned around and missed the shot. Horry grabbed the rebound.

There are advantages and disadvantages. Daniels is better at defending Guo Xu, but he mainly relies on receiving and shooting on the offensive end, and rarely plays pick-and-roll, and usually passes the ball after halftime. He obviously has the overall physical fitness but not only fights Guo Xu, but plays reasonably too much.

Daniels, who is 193CM tall and weighs 88 kilograms, was selected by the Grizzlies in the fourth pick in the first round in 1997. After playing for a season, he was traded to the Spurs. Because he is not the kind of player the Grizzlies need, he has the mentality of being a top-notch physical fitness but does not become a star.

Daniels is a point guard who passes the ball first, and his style of playing is not as good as a double-season guard. In his own terms, he can get more pleasure from passing than scoring, and has the heart of an organization guard.

To put it bluntly, this is a person who dares not take responsibility. He defined himself as a role player from the beginning, and passing first and other excuses are all excuses. Nash and Kidd are the number one passing first, how many assists are they averaging?

In Guo Xu's previous life, Daniels played 63 starts with the Wizards in 2007-08, averaging 8.4 points and 4.8 assists per game. He just pulled out a score of first place, and the second-pass point guard had more assists than him.

The Lakers attacked, and O'Neal made a mistake when attracting defense to pass the ball to Kobe, and passed it directly to the sideline.

The Spurs attacked, and Duncan supported the pass to Elliot, who cut the baseline at a high position, who got rid of Fox's layup. 72 to 64.

Guo Xu and Horry played pick-and-roll in the middle and broke through the left side. Daniels bypassed the cover and caught up. Guo Xu hit the ground and passed the ball to Kobe who ran to the low post on the left.

Kobe received the ball and leaned against Anderson twice, turned around and jumped backwards to shoot in at 45 degrees, with a picturesque posture. 74 to 64.

Woodson said: "The Lakers cooperated very well in this period. Horry pulled out of the three-point line and gave one side low post to Kobe. He was too stable to fight Anderson near the basket."

Hovas said: "Although Jason does not assist, his organizational ability is actually not bad, and he can allocate the ball reasonably."

Daniels and Robinson played pick-and-roll, and passed the ball with one step. Robinson passed the ball from the middle to Duncan.

Duncan beat O'Neal to turn and shoot to the right. Unfortunately, this time he was blocked by O'Neal and Kobe picked up a rebound.

In the Lakers' positional battle, there was no time to pass several times, O'Nealla went out to provide Guo Xu with an unball cover, and firmly blocked Daniels.

Guo Xu ran along the three-point line from the right bottom corner to 70 degrees, and received a three-pointer from Horry's pass from the middle to jump shot. With a perfect rhythm, Duncan's replacement was slow and the ball was hollowed into the net.

77 to 64, Guo Xu scored 27th and 7th three-pointer.

Elliott caught the ball and made a mid-range shot, 77-66.

The Lakers attacked, Guo Xu and Horry played pick-and-roll, passed Robinson in the middle and rushed into the basket, passing the ball to O'Neal on the right. The latter jumped up in one step, and dunked with one-handed one-handed one-handed one-handed one-handed!

79 to 66, Guo Xu had the fourth assist.
