Chapter 114 Wei Wuji's Decision

There have been many such things as killing the monarch and killing the father for the sake of the throne, destroying the brother and slaughtering the brother in ancient times, and many of them even had a significant impact on the entire historical process.

Among these incidents, there were two cases with the worst impact.

The first example is the famous King Ping of Zhou.

The reason why the Zhou Dynasty declined was that King Ping of Zhou Ji Yijiu moved the capital from Haojingdong in Guanzhong to Luoyi.

The migration of King Ping to the east was also recognized by later historians and scholars as a symbol of the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Eastern Zhou Dynasty.

King Ji Yijiu of Zhou Ping was originally the crown prince, but was later deposed.

Ji Yijiu thus held a grudge against his father, King You of Zhou.

In 771 BC, Ji Yijiu colluded with the Quanrong, and the State of Shen launched a coup, killing the emperor, King You of Zhou and Queen Bao Si, and proclaiming himself king.

The Quanrong was the mortal enemy of the Zhou Dynasty. Ji Yijiu actually colluded with the Quanrong to kill his father and king. This was equivalent to a certain Han Dynasty princes colluding with the Huns to rebel and usurp the throne. The princes in the world were greatly shocked and the influence was extremely bad.

Ji Yijiu's orthodoxy was thus greatly questioned. The patriarchal system that the Zhou Dynasty had always adhered to since its establishment was destroyed by Ji Yijiu. Even though Ji Yijiu himself ascended the so-called emperor, he was not justified and was not recognized by major vassal states such as Lu. The majesty of the Zhou emperor was wiped out from then on.

People in the world say that King You of Zhou was a foolish monarch, but the princes of Fenghuoxi just proved the majesty of King You of Zhou and his control over the princes. As the saying goes, it comes and goes when summoned, and that's true.

When Ji Yijiu was king, even if Ji Yijiu wanted to play the princes with a beacon, few princes would pay attention to him.

To put it bluntly, this King of Zhou Ping Ji Yijiu was the biggest culprit for the decline of the Zhou Dynasty.

After Ji Yijiu usurped the throne, the reputation of the Zhou emperor was ruined and the princes became dominant, thus opening the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period.

Another example is Quwo Daijin.

In 745 BC, Ji Bo, the Zhaohou of Jin, conferred his younger brother Ji Chengshi in Quwo, and the seeds of civil strife were planted.

In 706 BC, Ji Chengshi's Sun Ji claimed to rebel and killed Ji Xiaozi, the then monarch of Jin State, which led to the twenty-eight-year civil war in Jin.

In 678 BC, Ji said that with the support of Duke Huan of Qi, Ji Qian, killed the then king of Jin, Ji Qian, and successfully usurped the throne, and was the Duke Wu of Jin.

Due to the bad atmosphere that Duke Wu of Jin himself opened, many princes in Jin later caused rebellion. The king of Jin no longer trusted the princes and valued foreign ministers, which finally led to the foreign ministers headed by the six ministers.

In the end, the king of Jin was completely undermined by the six ministers. The three families of Wei, Zhao and Han who won the battle after the six ministers divided the Jin state.

Of course, Ji Yijiu and Ji said that both of these guys are successful and more famous examples. In addition to these two people, it was not uncommon for the fight between father and son for the throne to be killed in the entire Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period.

Will Wei Wuji become one of these people? Only he himself can get the answer.

This was the second time in this evening that someone persuaded Wei Wuji to rebel.

Unlike the first time when he was furious, this time, after hearing Zhao Sheng's words, Wei Wuji kept silent and fell into silence.

There is no doubt that after joining the palace, Wei Wuji's psychology has changed.

This is also a normal thing. After all, King Wei has completely broken his face with Wei Wuji, and it is obvious that the carriages and horses are trying to deprive Wei Wuji of all power, and it is very likely that even Wei Wuji's life will not be spared.

Under such circumstances, it is somewhat difficult to make Wei Wuji as loyal as before.

But even so, Wei Wuji was still quite resistant to the rebellion.

At this moment, the general of Wei State, Jin Bi, led his army outside, and Jin Bi has always been loyal to the King of Wei.

Even if Wei Wuji can succeed in the uprising, if Jin Bi refuses to surrender and leads 100,000 Wei troops back to Daliang, then with the few troops in Wei Wuji's hands, it is obvious that they will not be able to compete with the 100,000 troops in Jin Bi's hands.

But for Wei Wuji, this is not the most important factor.

The most important thing is actually what Wei Wuji's father, the previous generation of Wei king, King Zhao of Wei, said to Wei Wuji before his death.

"Wuji, your elder brother is not as smart as you. But the elders are orderly, so I cannot abolish them. Now Wei is dark and weak, and there are Qin, Chu, and Qi and other powerful people. You should help your brother work hard and make Wei become stronger than the princes. You must not fight against brothers. This is the way to perish!"

King Zhao of Wei said this in front of his two sons.

Before saying this, King Zhao of Wei also said something similar to King of Wei.

Whether it is King Wei or Wei Wuji, they have promised that King Zhao of Wei will never cause chaos in Wei. They will join hands with their brothers to restore the glory of Wei!

It is precisely because of this that in the early days of King Wei's ascension, the two brothers had a honeymoon period.

During this period, the two brothers King Wei and Wei Wuji fought against the powerful prime minister Mengchangjun Tian Wen, and let the power return to the hands of the Wei royal family.

Unfortunately, after Mengchangjun Tian Wen completely fell, this honeymoon period came to an abrupt end.

The relationship between the two brothers became more and more tense as time passed, and the differences in opinions and conflicts between the two became more and more frequent, until it was finally completely detonated tonight, and it was truly torn apart.

When Wei Wuji thought of this, he couldn't help but sigh.

After tonight, if Wei Wuji returns to his fiefdom, can the King of Wei really keep his promise in front of his father and let Wei Wuji live a life?

Seeing this, Zhao Sheng immediately took the opportunity to persuade him: "Wuji, think twice."

Wei Wuji did not answer immediately, and a long silence fell into the study.

I don’t know how long it took, but Wei Wuji finally slowly raised his head and looked at Zhao Sheng calmly.

"Pingyuan Lord, I can't do anything about traitors."

When Zhao Sheng heard this, he became anxious and hurriedly said, "Wuji, can you let the King of Wei be slaughtered like this?"

Wei Wuji smiled, and a strange expression suddenly appeared in his eyes.

"Since the king cannot tolerate Wuji, why should Wuji live in Wei? Pingyuan Jun, Wuji wants to go to Zhao and his party to fight against the powerful Qin together in Zhao, but I don't know what?"

As soon as Wei Wuji said this, Zhao Sheng was stunned again.

It was at this moment that the words Hou Ying had said to Zhao Sheng in the hall just less than two hours ago suddenly appeared in Zhao Sheng's mind.

Just when Hou Ying said this, Zhao Sheng was still very dissatisfied with this.

But what Zhao Sheng never expected was that this seemingly comical and almost impossible thing was really going to be realized.
