Twenty-two: Hulang, Dumb Niang, Kong Konger

Nie Er is a Hulang from Xuandu City Shipbuilding Department.

Hulang is a person who collects commissions by trading intermediaries. The business he intervenes is not fixed, including carriages, porcelain, silk fur, and house rental and sale, but the premise is that the information is well-informed.

Nie Er is the most well-informed person in the six fangs near Xishi City. When Xuandu was still in the imperial capital, he worked in the Jinzu Academy of Qinghe King. Jinzu Academy was the office of various vassal states in Beijing, and privately took on the responsibility of inquiring about the secrets of the Beijing news. It was at that time that Nie Er accumulated contacts and developed a way to find out the news.

After Jinzouyuan was withdrawn, Nie Er hid for two years and went to the Maritime Warehouse to ask for a job as a Hulang, which was considered to be a return to his old career.

He glanced at the sign of Yequan East Canal and walked into Changlefang. The green alley in Changlefang was red sleeves. The former palace education office was now a golden cave for the great officials to relieve their spirits. Nie Er did not stop, and walked through Qingyin Lane where the actors and karaokes lived, and arrived at the west side of Changlefang, a voice suddenly came from the side of the road.

"Nie Sanlang, I knew you were here."

Li Chan walked over from the archway at the west entrance of Changlefang and waved to Nie Er with a smile.

Nie Er was stunned at first, then showed a look of surprise, and then said happily: "Why are you here?"

He strode forward, patted Li Chan's arm, looked up and down at Li Chan, and was about to say something, but he swallowed it into his throat, pulled Li Chan's hand and walked into Gantang Lane, "Come on, brother, speak here." He walked towards a two-story wooden building in the middle of Gantang Lane.

Gu Jiuniang was half old, and there was still some charm in her eyebrows. When she saw Nie Er walking over on the clothes drying table on the second floor, she just glanced at her and continued to stretch her clothes drying. She saw Li Chan in surprise, then put down the clothes she was drying, lifted her skirt and went downstairs.

Nie Er smiled and shouted, "Jiu Niang, see who is coming?"

Gu Jiuniang ignored Nie Er and said, "Li Lang is here, I'll go prepare tea." Her voice was hoarse. After saying that, she stopped talking and turned around and entered the inner room.

Li Chan looked at Gu Jiuniang's throat thoughtfully and whispered: "Jiu Niang's throat is still like this."

When Gu Jiuniang was young, she was a famous Xuandu priest in the sect house. She lost her throat due to illness and fell into the fireworks alley. Some clients disliked her and refused to moan. The nickname of "Mumph Girl" was also heard, and later Nie Er redeemed her.

"It's better, but it's not cured."

Nie Er shook his head and led Li Chan into the inner room.

The house is decorated in a simple and elegant manner, with cushions on the ground and pipas hanging on the wall, a plain white porcelain vase in the wall, and a bamboo-woven screen stands beside the lattice window, and there is a very light smoke in the upper half of the house.

"It smells so good." As soon as Li Chan entered the door, she walked towards the screen, "What fragrance did Jiu Niang lit?"

There were red lacquer shrines and fruits on the small table behind the screen. When Li Chan saw the scene behind the screen, Gu Jiuniang just put down the curtain of the shrine. After pausing, she said, "Shendu Xiang."

Li Chan smiled, nodded, and asked nothing more, but Danyan saw a colorful shadow of a human-headed bird in the shrine.

The Miaoyin Bird is not a monster that harms people.

Li Chan was relieved and returned to the side of the table and sat on the ground.

Nie Er smiled and said, "Brothers are asking for immortality in Qingque Palace and asked, why are you willing to come down to earth?"

"I just went up and looked at the door. After reading it, I was kicked off. I have to find something to do."

Li Chan's words made Nie Er stunned. Gu Jiuniang took charcoal from behind the screen. He stood up and said a few words to me. While burning charcoal in the mud stove, he smiled and said, "It's good, it's good, the Taoist sect talks about a terrible love and nature. If you want to be a god, how can you remember me, an ordinary person?"

"How come it's a terrible love?" Li Chan smiled, "Even if you forget love, you are not the Taoist priest palace."

"It's almost the same to say that you have broken off your affection and nature. Qingniang has been waiting for you in Jinyifang for more than two years. In the past six months, you have cut off contact. If I hadn't sent some food from time to time, how could she hold on? Although she is your sister-in-law, how could you say that she doesn't mean that to her?" Nie Er said with a meaningful smile. When he heard the sound of clogs stepping on the floor, he looked back. Gu Jiuniang came in with a scoop and rolled her eyes to Nie Er. The man immediately put away his smile, but still lowered his voice and said to Li Chan: "I think she is interested in you, otherwise, why wouldn't a woman of this age marry again?"

"It's not your business." Li Chan ignored Nie Er's words, "I'm urgent to use money and find something for me."

"You want money?" Nie Er pondered for a moment, "Like in the past, should you sell paintings or write a poster for others?"

“Everything is good.”

"Wait." Nie Er took off his waist bag and handed it to Li Chan, "Take it first."

Li Chan weighed it, and there were some copper plates and two taels of scattered silver inside, and hung it on his belt, "Thank you."

Nie Er thought for a while and said, "Selling paintings and looking at fate, many people ask for subtitles, but some of them have committed great evil. Even if I introduce them to you, you won't do it. Yesterday I heard that there was an old blacksmith next to Zhenwu Gate..."

The water in the copper pot began to burn and there were footsteps outside the door. A girl's voice began to yell before entering the door: "Wu Gui, the old dog, old turtle, dares to take advantage of me. I slapped three times. My mother, am I a good choice for him?"

Half of them came in. It had been 28 years since I was still alive but I had not worn hair and my hair was tied with a blue ribbon. I saw Nie Er and was about to say hello to him, but when I saw Li Chan, I opened my eyes wide and said in surprise: "Uncle?"

Li Chan smiled and replied: "Kongkong'er."

Nie Kongkong rushed over, looked up and down at Li Chan, and said attentively: "Why are you here? Didn't you go to Qingque Palace to be a god? But have you learned the technique of flying swords? Where is the flying sword? I heard that the sword fairy hid the flying sword in her mouth and killed a hundred people with her mouth. The gold energy entered her body, and even the blood was silver. Uncle, tell me, are these real?"

"Go and help my mother." Nie Er waved his hand, "Your uncle and I have something to say."

"Dad!" Nie Kongkong said reluctantly.

"What are you shouting randomly?" Gu Jiuniang gave Nie Kongkong a look.

"Dad, dad, Uncle Nie is Dad, dad, do you think so?" Nie Kongkong looked at Gu Jiuniang without showing any weakness.

"I don't know whose wild species it is." Gu Jiuniang said lightly and stopped talking.

Nie Kongkong's face faded and he muttered: "You should not bother with women in the world."

Li Chan said: "Kongkong'er, have you improved your martial arts in the past two years?"

"Of course." Nie Kongkong grinned his teeth and smiled again, "Often the strong men are not close to him."

"You will take the exam another day." Li Chan smiled and turned to Nie Er and said, "Sanlang just mentioned Zhenwu Sect."

"The old blacksmith beside Zhenwu Sect is called Cheng Lian." Nie Er replied, "I heard that I was suffering from a serious illness and refused to let my disciples seek skills to treat the disease, nor did I ask for medical officers. Maybe there is something inside."
