Chapter 22 Initial Exploration

Quan Hao didn't think about how it was. It was not easy for a turtle to grow so big. I heard that only a thousand little turtles could only be adults. It was a small chance to be hit by it, which shows that it was lucky. Quan Hao had never killed several chickens, so he could not deal with a creature about the same size as him. I don't know how many years old he grew up. Besides, he had already contributed his descendants, so wouldn't it be too much to ask it to give its own life?

He just simply couldn't bear to let go of this trophy. This turtle was the biggest discovery he had when he came to the island. Even if he couldn't use it for fun, it would be good to take a look at it. He planned to trap it for a while, and the turtle's vitality was tenacious and had no natural enemies, so there was no danger of staying on the beach. It was just right for him to be his companion. If he hadn't been too heavy, he would have planned to move it to the campsite.

After turning around the turtle twice, Quan Hao still approached from the most vulnerable tail. Seeing that he was about to get close to him, the turtle became anxious and raised his claws to attack. Fortunately, his belly was facing the sky and he was not at all accurate. Behind him, Quan Hao pushed the armor at the edge of it, and turned the turtle's body by 180 degrees, turning the head to the shore and its tail to the sea. His head was high and his tail was low, so that even if the tide was high, the tide would not flood the turtle's jaw beak.

Then he picked up a few bunches of water plants on the beach. First, he tried to feed them to the turtle. Seeing that it ignored them, he put the grass on its plastimeter and hung the rest on his mouth. If it is hungry, it can be eaten by turning its neck. I heard that turtles are omnivorous animals, and I hope this is not picky about food.

After doing this, Quan Hao returned to the camping site with confidence. The breakfast was naturally turtle eggs, and he encountered some trouble when igniting it. Because the island was very humid, his leaves were all damp. It took him four times to burn. It also made a roll of smoke, which made people cough.

He buried twenty eggs in the bottom of the fire, because Quan Hao felt that it would be impossible to burn them directly, so he could only use this primitive method. The cooked turtle egg is a bit fishy and is harder than the eggs. It is not too delicious. But it has to be eaten even if it is not delicious. Today's plan is to explore the entire island, and it is not good without physical strength. His method is to sprinkle a little salt in it, so it will be easier to swallow if it has a salty taste.

After eating seven turtle eggs in one breath, he felt fullness in his abdomen. It was already dawn, but the fog was still heavy. I couldn't see the mountains in the distance, nor the sun. But Quan Hao didn't want to wait anymore. The temperature was right now, and it was suitable to go out for hiking. He tidied up his backpack, stuffed more than a dozen turtle eggs in, preparing to make food for lunch. He tied a cable as thick as a finger on his waist, and held the dagger in his hand to defend himself.

The road to the hills is not easy to walk. It's not other things, but the main thing is that the whole line is full of monotonous beaches, without reference objects, so it's difficult to distinguish the direction. After the coast was immersed in the fog, Quan Hao could only listen to the sound of the sea with his ears and try to move away from the sea. He didn't know whether he was going around or not, and walked for a while like a headless fly, and the outline of the mountain mausoleum finally appeared in front.

When he arrived at the foot of the hill, Quan Hao discovered that the mountain was steeper than he thought. It was like a knife and axe standing on the wall, with almost no slope. It was difficult to find a place to settle down. Some uneven areas were covered with moss, which was quite slippery when he touched it. It was obviously unrealistic to want to flip over here, unless there were professional mountain climbing tools.

I could only find another place. The hill was roughly east-west. Quan Hao walked along the mountain toward the direction of the sun. The ones under his feet had turned from sand to gravel. After walking for about two kilometers, he finally found a gap. The gap was only twenty meters high and was much shorter than the surrounding cliff walls. It seemed that some reason had collapsed. The surrounding was scattered gravel, which was just a road with a slope of about forty degrees.

Quan Hao climbed to the top of the slope from here, and a vibrant world appeared in front of him.

Green, full of green. This side of the hill is a gentle slope, with many green shrubs and trees growing. Unknown flowers bloom on the ground covered with grass, and birds occasionally cries in the forest. Even the air here is different. The smell of grass covers the salty and fishy smell of the sea. Looking into the distance, the green extends along the mountain until it is blocked by fog.

There are completely different worlds on both sides of the island. There are beaches and blue seas and green trees on the other side. It's so amazing. Quan Hao thinks that this hill may be the cause of all this. It is precisely because it is steep on one side and flat on the other side that it creates a different environment on both sides. Perhaps a Haiti earthquake occurred many years ago, and the other half of the mountain collapsed into the sea. Its height blocked the flow of sea sand, causing a large accumulation of sea sand, gradually forming a beach. On the other side, because the slope is very slow, it can store rainwater and grow a lot, forming a green world.

No one can know what the truth is. For Quan Hao, it is more important to explore this jungle and see if there is anything worth using. After a series of searches, he found a small stream with clear fresh water inside visible. He cut off a few branches that were thick with thumbs and long. He sharpened the two ends of the branches to make a spear to fish, or use a short spear to defend himself. The dagger was still a little short. He also found a shrub that seemed to be a banana, but unfortunately the fruit was green and small, and it was not edible at all. However, what he liked was not the fruit, but the wide leaves of the banana tree. The leaves were long enough and were more than 30 centimeters wide. It was best to use them to protect the sun and rain.

When the sun was on the verge of the shadows, the fog disappeared without a trace. Quan Hao climbed to the highest point of the hillside. This time he finally saw the whole picture of the island. The only mountain mausoleum on the island stretched east and west, and the beach he came to the north. The half of the island to the south is very long, and the southernmost coastline is probably twenty kilometers away. The width slowly narrows from the mountain mausoleum, like a snake's tail winding into the sea. Most of the southern peninsula is covered by woods, and only the near sea is white sand. There is also a river on the island, which goes south along the terrain, appearing and disappearing from the clearings in the forest. The stream Quan Hao discovered should be one of its sources. The river passes through the estuary at the tip of the snake tail and meets the sea water, almost running through the entire Southern Peninsula.
