Chapter 19 (1)

When he walked into the auditorium, Professor Fang Baicun's speech had not yet begun. Several school workers were fiddling with amplification equipment on the rostrum. Nearly a thousand seats in the auditorium were almost full, and the voices of conversation were heard. Yang Rizhao refused the principal's proposal to take them to the stage to greet Fang Baicun and ask them to sit in the first row. After a long time, he and Liu Chenlong finally found two seats on the corner and sat down.

It was already ten o'clock in the morning. The school workers had almost finished fiddling with the equipment. Fang Baicun walked onto the stage. His face was rosy, his face was not wrinkled, and he was in good spirits. He didn't look like a fifty-something man. His hair was neatly combed, but the shirt he was wearing was a little old and his expression was solemn. He looked like a rigorous scholar. As soon as he walked out, the auditorium of more than a thousand people suddenly became quiet, and then a burst of warm applause broke out.

Yang Rizhao said in surprise: "I always thought that Professor Fang was an isolated Frankenstein, but I didn't expect that he looked quite popular!"

Liu Chenlong looked at Fang Baicun and didn't say anything for a moment, but just said "um". A student next to him turned around and looked at Yang Rizhao with dissatisfaction, interrupting: "Classmate, you are from another school. Professor Fang's lecture was very good. I have listened to many novel ideas twice, but I still think it sounds very good! What a Frankenstein, you will understand it by listening to it more! Genius is always difficult to understand!"

He spoke quite loudly, and several students around him heard it and nodded in agreement. Yang Rizhao and Liu Chenlong noticed that many students looked at the stage with admiration. Liu Chenlong looked at Yang Rizhao and smiled and said, "It seems that your brother is out of date. Professor Fang is now a star of tomorrow, and there are so many fans!"

Fang Baicun coughed and the whole audience became quiet. Liu Chenlong and Yang Rizhao were also a little curious now, sitting upright, wanting to hear what Fang Baicun was talking about.

Fang Baicun's voice was heavy and sounded quite nice. He said, "Dear students, old and new friends, many of them have come to listen to this lecture for the first time, but there are many faces that I am familiar with. It seems that the new worldview I spread to you is gradually being accepted by you. I feel very pleased and proud of you. This proves that although you grew up under this unreasonable education system, your brains are not rigid. You still preserve your strong curiosity, curiosity and rich imagination. You are not being stubborn.

The rules and regulations bind your thoughts, no matter whether this rules and regulations are called religion, science or something. In fact, we often talk about science, but the most scientific spirit is to dare to make the most unscientific assumptions about unknown things, and the vitality of science lies in bold assumptions and careful verification. Once we regard the three words "unscientific" as an original sin, and cast it on any assumption that deviates from our common sense, and throw it aside without thinking, then in fact science is dead. Whoever breaks the wings of imagination will essentially kill the life of science!”

Liu Chenlong stabbed Yang Rizhao and said, "This Professor Fang is very sensational, not like you said you can't communicate!"

Yang Rizhao heard the smell a little, and Man Ying said, "Listen, listen!"

Fang Baicun continued: "I am a researcher in biological genes, but most of the people who come here to listen to lectures are not friends who study genes, so I do not intend to talk about some boring theories about biological genes. Today I just want to share with you some of my experiences in studying biological genes over the past 30 years, as well as some of the thoughts triggered by these research experiences!"

"Everyone knows that biological genes can be said to be the total program that determines biological characteristics and is also a reservoir of biological life information. In 1953, scientists discovered the DNA double helix structure pattern. The genetic material DNA structure in the organism is very similar to a spiral ladder with two handrails. The steps on the ladder are composed of four bases, which follow the double helix line to form a special sequence, which is equivalent to encode the genetic gene into a code. Each gene is a step on the DNA spiral ladder, which is responsible for instructing cells to complete a special mission. The discoverers of this theory are Morris Wilkins of the UK, Francis Crick of the UK and the US.

James Watson won the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1962. So far, our research on the correspondence between the human gene bank and life function is still in its initial stage, but this initial stage of research has to marvel at the mystery and grandeur of the human gene bank. In my opinion, the human gene bank is almost all-encompassing and contains information about all known organisms on the earth, but this is not the most special thing. Everyone knows that the genes of gorillas are also similar to those of human genes. Therefore, my research energy is to focus on the sleepy non-coding gene regions in the human genes!”

"Everyone knows that the genome of eukaryotes is relatively large, with a large number of non-coding regions. The non-coding regions in this sleepy state are far larger than the coding regions. The human genes are calculated based on one thousand bases to encode a protein. In theory, there should be 300,000. In fact, the number of human genes is far from this number. Many DNA sequences cannot be encoded, and only about two to three percent of DNA sequences are used to encode proteins. The role of RNA is to determine which genes can be encoded and which genes cannot be encoded. It can be said that dna is equivalent to some raw materials with various functions, while RNA is a designated program, which determines which functions can be used for the whole life. The functional gap between gorillas and humans is that they have many sleeping functional genes than humans!"

"However, according to our research, although humans have many functional advantages over other animals, the functional genes of the non-coding region of human sleep still occupy the vast majority. That is to say, if we can influence the human RNA and successfully organize other sleepy functional genomes in the human gene bank into the double helix structure to exert their functions, then humans can fully demonstrate more and more complete abilities. For example, having a long life like a turtle creature, such as having a fish like a fish

The function of surviving in water may even grow wings and fly into the blue sky as needed. In this regard, we have made breakthrough progress recognized by the academic community. Although the road is still long, we can believe that the current state of human life is definitely not the perfect state of human beings. We can expect that in the near future, a new generation of perfect people will appear on the earth. They will, like the legendary gods, "do not eat grains, suck the wind and drink dew, ride the clouds, control the flying dragons, and swim outside the four seas"!"
