Chapter VIII Jose's Daughter
"Who are you?" Penia suddenly became nervous and shouted and stepped back.
"Introduce yourself, at the Chin Bartley, from the Third Fleet of the Royal Spanish Navy." The man in a dirty sailor suit introduced politely.
"Spain? What are you...what are you looking for me? Did you recognize the wrong person?" Penia shouted, and her hand quietly touched her robe.
"Don't move, take out your hand!" The man named Bartley instantly raised the musket in his hand, aimed it at Penia, and his expression froze. He slowly took out his hand, which was about to draw out the gun, and raised his hands above his head.
"Dear Miss Peña, you don't know what I'm going to do for you? How do you know that I recognized the wrong person?" Bartley smiled, and he saw the panic in Pena's eyes.
From beginning to end, Bartley had never paid attention to Shazo next to Penia. Perhaps because Shazo was too young, he could not be alert. He knew that Penia was studying at the Royal College of England, and it was not surprising that he knew her classmates.
"You, what are you going to do? This is British City. When gunfire sounds, all British City will come to capture you." Penia said pretending to be calm.
"Oh! Am I scared?" Bartley sneered, and the gun in his hand shook immediately and shouted, "Come here!"
"What are you going to do? Would you let me go?" Facing the dark muzzle, Penia seemed to be crying.
"Let you go, don't you know what trouble your father has caused? Don't think we don't know what you are doing in England? Get over! Do you want to die... or do you want to see your friend die?" Bartley shouted, and the gun swayed back and forth on Penia and Shazzo.
Penia was very scared and glanced at Xia Zuo. She had heard about Xia Zuo and might be able to save her.
Xia Zuo gave Penia a helpless look. The other party was holding a gun. Xia Zuo might have a chance at close range. At this long distance, unless he had the combat strength of a fighter and could turn on the shield, it would be very dangerous to take action.
Penia felt her legs trembling and began to walk towards Bartley step by step.
She knew that Bartley's purpose was not to kill her, but to capture her, but it was already possible to imagine how fate was to be captured. Peña was very scared, but she didn't turn around and ran away to recognize her and was arrested.
"Very good, Miss Peña!" Peña walked to Bartley with trembling, and Bartley raised his hand and hit the back of Penia's head.
Bang!
Penia fell to the ground and fainted.
Bartley hugged Penia and leaned over and slowly placed it on the snow. Penia was very precious to him, and it would be bad if it was injured.
Just as Bartley put Penia down, his body leaned against Xia Zuo. At this moment, Xia Zuo reached his left hand to his back, took out a silver-white silent gun from inside, took out the bullet from his pocket with his right hand, pulled out the magazine, and pressed a bullet into the magazine.
The whole action was completed in one go, and Xia Zuo brought his cool and excellent quality to the extreme.
When Bartley stood straight and looked back at Xia Zuo, Xia Zuo stood there in his pocket with his hands in his pocket, and there was no change.
"Can I leave?" Xia Zuo asked quietly.
"Let's go? I'm so sorry, little sir, I admire your courage very much, but it's useless to pretend to be calm. You saw something you shouldn't see!" Bartley smiled faintly, not looking like a kidnapper at all. After saying that, Bartley, who was holding a gun at Xiazzo, slowly approached.
The fastest way to kill Xia Zuo is of course fired, but the gun has a sound, which will attract British City Guards. Bartley just wants to kidnap Peña away quietly, not wanting to cause too much trouble.
"You want to kill me?" Xia Zuo raised his eyebrows and asked.
"What do you think?" Bartley approached step by step.
"I think...you deserve to die!" Xia Zuo smiled and showed a mouthful of white teeth.
Just as he spoke out his last sentence, with a "pop", a hole was broken in the pocket where Xia Zuo's left hand was. Almost at the same time, there was a blood hole in Bartley's chest, but his entire back completely exploded, and the broken bones and blood sprayed on the snow behind him, dazzling red.
This shot hit Bartley in the heart.
Bartley froze on the snow a few steps away from Xia Zuo. The expression on his face seemed to be frozen. When he loosened his hand, the musket fell on the snow. Then he fell heavily and disappeared.
Xia Zuo used not ordinary muskets, but a silent gun that could fire black powder bullets, but it was much more powerful. The moment he was shot, he died.
"Uncle!" Xia Zuo cursed, but did not look at Bartley again. He didn't even go to pick up the musket and walked directly to Penia.
As the night grew deeper, there were not many pedestrians on the road, and there were no one in this remote alley, so Xia Zuo was not very worried yet.
"Hey, wake up!" Shazzo patted Penia's face.
Penia did not wake up.
Xia Zuo immediately grabbed a few handfuls of snow on the ground and touched Penia's face twice.
With a moan, Penia woke up by the cold. Penia's eyes were a little confused at first, and then jumped up, and she remembered.
"Shazo, where is that guy?" Penia asked nervously. She didn't know what was going on.
"Here, we're dead, let's leave here soon." Shazo tilted his head at Penia.
At night, the moonlight was hazy and there was no one on the street. Peña and Shazzo, who had been walking around for a long time to avoid trouble, finally embarked on the way back to the college.
"Penia, don't you want to say anything to me?" Xia Zuo asked casually with his hands in his pockets.
"Say...what do you say?" Penia seemed to have not recovered yet.
"Why do someone kidnapped you? What does it have to do with your father? Also, why are you going to that black store? Don't deny it, I've also gone to that store, just twenty minutes before you came out." Xia Zuo's several questions made Peña completely silent.
"Why don't you say anything? I don't want to say it." Xia Zuo pretended to be a little angry.
Penia walked beside Xia Zuo, looked up at Xia Zuo's side face, and asked hesitantly: "Do you like Spain?"
"What a strange question, why did you suddenly ask this?" Xia Zuo was puzzled.
"Do you like it?" Penia asked again, as if this was important.
"I don't like it, you don't know. I'm here in South America and Spain... they are invaders." Xia Zuo said truthfully.
"That's good, I don't like Spain either." Peña showed a relieved expression, paused, seemed to have made up her mind, and looked at Xia Zuo and said, "You can't tell others what I told you today, okay?"
"Hmm, no problem!" Xia Zuo nodded indifferently. He had no problem spreading gossip.
"You remember my father?" Penia asked.
"Remember, Jose Saint-Martin, the sheriff of Port de Ceado." Charzo nodded. He had always had a good memory, although he had only met Jose at that time.
"My father..." Penia took a deep breath, stopped and looked at Xia Zuo and said, "It is the leader of the Resistance Army, who is leading the Resistance Army to fight against the Spanish colonial army."
"Wow, so that's how it is." Shazzo, who stopped with Penia, exclaimed. He suddenly understood why the people from the Royal Spanish Navy wanted to capture Penia? Needless to say, they must have heard that Jose had a daughter in Britain and wanted to tie him up and threaten Jose.
"Yes, so the Spanish people want to capture me." Penia moved forward again, with a little worried expression.
"Is no one protecting you?" Xia Zuo asked, how could the daughter of the leader of the rebel army be unprotected?
"At the beginning, there was an accident three months ago and they were all dead." Peña lowered her head in disappointment, looking a little anxious to cry.
"I'm sorry!" Xia Zuo shrugged and apologized.
"I'm fine." Penia sniffed, looked up and smiled barely.
"Then you go to the arms dealer..." Xia Zuo asked again.
"I want to buy a batch of weapons, and send them to South America through cargo ships. I didn't have to do this, but the person in charge of this matter was missing. It probably has been..." Peña did not continue, but it was obvious that the Spanish Navy sent a lot of people to the British city.
"Buying weapons requires a lot of money. Do you have money?" Xia Zuo asked.
"Yes, the money has been with me. I originally said that I would pay for it when I shipped it, but it was already two months since there was no news, so I took the initiative to look for it, but... it was not agreed..." Peña said.
"Not negotiated? Why?" Xia Zuo asked again.
"I want five hundred long muskets and twenty cannons, but... my money doesn't seem to be enough." Peña was worried.
"How much did you bring?" Xia Zuo asked casually.
"...30,000 gold." Penia hesitated for a moment before saying.
