09 Eight strategies for speculators in the sedan chair

A swaying broken sedan chair was huddled by several soldiers and walked through the Chenzhou street full of "revenge for the Western King". Zhao Kuo sat comfortably. This was the sedan chair of a merchant in Chenzhou, which was presented to the Shengku as a tribute. Zhao Kuo took it back for the general to use. It happened that last night and talked with Zhu Qingzheng and others about the situation in Guangdong that he slept late. Zhao Kuo was not in good spirits, so he did not ride a horse, but sat in a sedan chair for transportation.

In the sedan chair, this future gangster godfather had blood red eyes but no sleepiness. He tapped his fingers on his knees from time to time, planning his next strategy along the bumps of the sedan chair.

Among the 5,000 soldiers, only 3,000 can fight, and the rest is nothing more than labor. Because Yang Xiuqing's focus on the war was not in Guangdong, but in the north, so he was not given a female camp - this was just a lonely army, and he might not be able to come back.

The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, which started with snowballs, often played this trick. The famous Northern Expedition sent only 20,000 elite troops to attack Beijing, and there was no support. The reason for playing this way was probably because the old peasant princes of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom did not have strategic awareness and did not know the reason why they had to eat bread in one bite. Secondly, they started this way. They probably thought that when they shouted, the world responded, and fantasized that they repeatedly threw "leopards" and ate the "bads" of the Qing Dynasty.

The Qing Dynasty was so bad that it was so bad that the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom almost succeeded in the Northern Expedition. After surrounding the front and back, the people actually attacked Tianjin.

But this time, Yang Xiuqing sent Zhao Kuo's troops, who were completely different from the expectations of the Northern Expedition, probably because in order to defeat Xiao Chaogui, the disciples were wasting an opportunity to raid Changsha. If they were not mainly to destroy that "Brother Jesus", they sent 10,000 main force, maybe they would take Changsha down the first raid.

But now it has already alerted the enemy. It is impossible to defeat it with a surprise attack. Changsha reinforcements gathered, and the imperial envoy of the Qing Dynasty, Sai Shanga, had already entered the city and became the chief defense officer in Changsha.

Why do people enter? Because during war, the gates of such big cities are closed, and the soil and bricks are used to make solid stones inside. How can people enter and exit the city? They can only use ropes to enter and exit.

Zhao Kuo knew that in history, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom did not take Changsha at all. He siege for a long time, so he simply followed the river and attacked Wuchang, Anqing, and Nanjing in a row.

Now Hong Xiuquan and the others must think that they can take Changsha. "Now I have saved so many old soldiers for you. Maybe I can really take Changsha. In this way, even if my southern expedition army cannot attack Guangdong, I can still go back to Changsha. So there is more southern expedition that does not exist in history." Zhao Kuo sneered: "I am really in a mood like Brother Liu Bei who escaped from Cao's camp. I will never come back. If I can't defeat, I will surrender to the Qing Dynasty, haha!"

However, Zhao Kuo did not take this war lightly. After all, this was a cult, and the Qing Dynasty was a beast in clothes. It was possible that he would scatter himself if he surrendered.

In ancient and modern times, at home and abroad, any general who wants to surrender has a characteristic: finding more chips to increase his value. For Zhao Kuo, of course, it would be a big victory to let the Qing Dynasty know his great value.

How to survive and win? - This is a serious problem.

How to win? - Have an ever-winning army in hand and maintain logistics supplies and military resources.

How to win forever?——Military belief, military discipline, loyalty, plus Western weapons.

How to hold it in your own hands? - Only let them change the ignorance and superstition of thinking that the king of heaven is God. And if this cannot be done, they are always making wedding clothes for the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The Western powers not only do not recognize themselves, but also cannot guarantee their safety. The soldiers who are not loyal to Hong Xiuquan mutiny and kill themselves, or the friendly world that is unbearable to this cult can destroy the entire army, or the special envoy sent by Hong Xiuquan can also smash themselves into hell with a fucking poem.

Logistics and military sources, in this era, there is no other choice for the main force. Illiterate and ignorant farmers, representing the local economy, and the semi-black world.

These are your own strength, so where does the enemy's strength come from?

According to Zhao Kuo's memory, during the Tiandihui Uprising in 1854, there was no Hunan Army in Guangdong, and the Huai Army had similar forces. The Qing army was not strong. There were two forces that were powerful: one was the local regiment training power, and there were regiment training powers in various parts of Guangdong. These were armed forces built by local gentry using patriarchal law and Confucianism. The Great Uprising in 1854 was equivalent to their extermination.

Whether it was the generals, officials, soldiers, or those who could run squads, they were the social elites of this era - Confucian believers. In a word: The Confucian civilization of the Qing Dynasty.

Another fatal force is the Tiandihui's style of bandits without goal and no faith. Without faith and no goal, you don't know what you are doing. How can you talk about military discipline? At the beginning, the military discipline was strict and the uprising army that claimed to be against the Qing Dynasty and restored the Ming Dynasty to save the people often became a bandit army that burned, killed, looted, and was wiped out by the disappointed people in the local area by the army training.

This is also one of the war civilizations in China for thousands of years. The success of the king and the defeat of the enemy! It does not entirely mean the true nature of historians.

Thinking of this, Zhao Kuo vaguely saw an extremely terrifying opponent. This opponent is at least 200 years old. If not, he is even thousands of years old. He is the Chinese Confucian civilization under the Qing Dynasty, and firmly bound the people to the land and the huge iron chain under the feet of the rulers.

But this is definitely not to make the young master of the underworld sad, but to make him frightened!

He felt that he drifted to a barbarian desert island. As for how ignorant and painful these people were, he had no moral control at all. He just wanted to escape and had to face this iron wall. You should know that in Confucian civilization, when catching rebels, there was no good ending from ancient times to the present, there were fried, boiled water, and a lingchi, and a little sky lantern. The most comfortable thing was to behead his head!

When Zhao Kuo was executing military discipline, he lit the traitor sky lantern (poured with oil and burned to death). Thinking that if he failed, whether he surrendered to the Qing Dynasty, or if the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom saw the intention, what would happen to him be waiting for him, he couldn't help but tremble.

"You can't surrender to the Qing Dynasty at will. It's better to find foreigners to escape. At least they will be more civilized! In this era, people will be hanged at most!" Zhao Kuo gritted his teeth and said, "But that has to be hit on the coast! And I have to make a bunch of silver mountains, I can't go to the United States to build railways! My wronged soul cannot be laid on the sleepers of the American railway!"

"Then how should I act? This is a fucking enemy of a civilization!" Zhao Kuo's face twitched a few times and soon came to the conclusion that this is the "Eight Strategy in the Sedan" that is well-known in later generations.

General Principle - Fight against ignorance with ignorance!

First, destroy the main enemies, the elite class of the Qing Dynasty: officials, officials and merchants, landlords, scholars and other Confucians. These are the carriers and vested interests of civilization. With them, resistance will inevitably be one wave after another. This is a civilized counterattack;

Second, win over oppressed people who have clear and unspoken rules in society, and victims will be launched, including poor people, small merchants, members of the Tiandihui Gang, etc. These are allied forces, which can provide taxes and military sources, but because of their illiteracy and ignorance, they can only be used for untrustworthy!

Third, we must cultivate our own elite class. These people must have common interests with them and have sufficient social influence to influence the people under the leadership. Such people do not have this civilization for the time being, and it seems that they can be found from the knowledgeable and profit-oriented business class;

Training the army - just build an army that is not afraid of death to escort me Zhao Kuo to the beach. As for the modern army, it is a delusion to this barbaric country where 90% illiterate one.

Fourth, the faith of the army cannot be lost. The army without faith is just a mob and has no dedication. In this ignorant era, we can only seek religious beliefs, and we can directly use believers as a source of wealth! As for the most advanced beliefs such as communism, it is too far beyond the times, so let's talk about it later.

Fifth, the heaven and earth are nationalism at heart. This big banner can confuse many people and use it! This is also the source of troops!

Sixth, nationalism should be under faith, and God commands the nation. Otherwise, first, the military discipline cannot be maintained, and second, my Zhao Kuo's power may be lost.

Why could Cromwell, a 17th-century British man, defeat the British king's army? He recruited soldiers from ordinary peasants with devout religious beliefs, which made his army both brave and disciplined in combat. After winning the battle of the Marston Wastelands (July 2, 1644), he was known as the "Iron Cavalry Army". These poor (low class) + idiots (firm faith) had extremely powerful dedication, and their combat power was much higher than that of the king's army.

Seventh, it is necessary to establish a base area that is rooted in the village, provide base areas and reserve troops so that Zhao Kuo can escape after failure or replace the wealthy soldiers who are unwilling to fight to the death after becoming rich.

Eighth, to tempt the vast majority of civilians, slogans are not enough. After all, 90% of the people are illiterate these days. You are talking about everything and people don’t understand them. If you want to deal with them, they can only give them practical benefits. So, it is better to use other people’s money to treat them? Distribute the property of officials and landlords to the poor! If you take it, you will fall in love with me! What is "the people can use it, and they cannot use it, and they cannot use it, and they cannot use it." This is a bullshit! This is a gold on Kong Laoer’s face! Since ancient times, this has been the operation of "the people can use it, but they cannot use it." Fight against ignorance!

After thinking about it, Zhao Kuo slapped his forehead, "Oh, isn't this some of the most advanced organizations in the future? It's a way to fight the local tyrants and divide the land."

But thinking about it, I can only do this, because Zhao Kuo has nothing in his hands. The landlords in that era were much more dangerous than before liberation. They were all respected and could directly organize team training. They were the mortal enemy of all the rebels in the Qing Dynasty.

Is it unhappy for me to stop this kind of person?

However, Zhao Kuo still felt that it was much more difficult to do this than later generations, because most people were illiterate and believed that the emperor would eat fried dough sticks every day, bite with his left hand and bite with his right hand. This is very difficult to promote.

There is also the elite class. With Zhao Kuo’s historical knowledge, Western learning has only emerged after the Japanese defeated China. What’s even more ridiculous is that Japanese regard "Haiguo Tuzhi" as a textbook!

"Haiguo Tuzhi? Who wrote it?

Wei Yuan, the Qing minister!

Unfortunately, after the writing, no one was interested in the Qing Dynasty. When the Japanese found the goods of Japanese Chinese cargo ships because they were closed to the country, they found three sets of "Haiguo Tuzhi" that were regarded as treasures and published crazily. For a moment, if the Japanese upper-class people met, they would not say: "Did you read "Haiguo Tuzhi"?" You are the shogunate faction of the country bumpkin.

It can be imagined that it is difficult to promote the culture of the Qing Dynasty at this time. Confucianism is all elites, but the Qing Dynasty is their own mortal enemy. The foolish people are all illiterate and extremely ignorant, and they can only be used as tools. If they are not done well, they will backfire themselves. There is no merchant class at all, and they cannot find a suitable and powerful elite class alliance.

The fastest and most efficient one is Hong Xiuquan and his friends who are good at dancing the gods.

But Zhao Kuo certainly didn't want to do this, because he also wanted to take political refuge. He was so good at fooling ignorant people, but foreigners were not so good at fooling them.

Just as he was thinking, Zhao Kuo heard the little Ding Zi in front of him scolding the passers-by: "Get out, general's sedan! Get out!"

Zhao Kuo smiled. Every time he saw Xiao Dingzi, he seemed to see the young drug lords who were straddling the ak47 slanted in the Burmese Golden Triangle.

He slapped his head and found a group of people who were best fooled and assimilated.

The Boy Scouts of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.

These children are between 11 and 15 years old. Not only do they firmly believe in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, but they are brave enough to fight to the point of being fearless of death. It is a waste of life. Chen Yucheng, the famous generals of the late Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, and others grew up from this group of people.

He even thought of a famous army in history - the Turkish Sultan's Imperial Guard!

This is the elite standing army of the Ottoman Turkish Empire in the 14th to 19th centuries. It was established by Sultan Murad I in 1363 (some say it was first established during the Orhan administration period in about 1330). A special conscription system was formed in the 15th to 17th centuries. Every five years, minor men were forcibly recruited from conquered Christian nations in the Balkans. They were often young slaves purchased from pagan (Christian) societies, and they were assigned to Ottoman military feudal families. They even lived in palaces, lived for several years, learned Turkish languages, scripts, customs and conversion to Islam, gradually assimilated from a cultural perspective, and then sent to Istanbul. Edirne's specialized school received military training and religious indoctrination to cultivate the spirit of loyalty to the Sultan, and then added to the army.

This group of warriors who have lived with Sudan since childhood have no one except Sudan. They firmly believe that all the beliefs that Sudan instilled in them are naturally fearless and willing to die when fighting, and are ready to die. They are definitely a super trump card in the hands of Sudan.

"Stop the sedan chair! Go back to the meeting hall and see the East King!" Zhao Kuo shouted.

Yang Xiuqing was a little strange. Zhao Kuo said that because he wanted to attack Guangdong with great fanfare, children who were flexible and unattended by the Qing soldiers needed to slap flags everywhere, brush slogans, and sneak into reconnaissance.

It is not difficult to have children, because fighting is not as powerful as adults. Although it is as brave as adults, it is definitely not as elite as adults.

He finally got 200 children, because Nanzheng was a bit dangerous, and Yang Xiuqing gave him all orphans.

Before joining the army, it doesn't matter if you kill someone and set fire to you.

A few days later, Zhao Kuo specially inspected the 200 children sent over and patted the short and thin little black head in the front. Zhao Kuo narrowed his eyes like a snake, and felt proud: "Why am I so much like the leader of the group of children and pickpockets in later generations?"

Wei Yuan (1794-1857), whose original name is Yuanda, his courtesy name is Moshen, is from Jintan, Shaoyang, Hunan. Wei Yuan is 21 years old

At that time, his father Wei Banglu was transferred from the local area to the capital to serve as an official, so he followed his father to Beijing. He had close contacts with patriotic patriots such as Lin Zexu and Gong Zizhen and often discussed current affairs. Because Wei Yuan was full of vitality and had extraordinary thoughts, he was very unsatisfied in the field of fame and reputation. Most of his life he spent as a guest and writing.

Wei Yuan's works are prosperous, in addition to "Haiguo Tuzhi", and also written "Shengwu Records", "New Edition of Yuan History", "Drafts of the Qing Yezhai Poems", "A Collection of Poems of Gu Weitang" and "Mogu".

Before the outbreak of the Opium War, Lin Zexu was appointed as the imperial envoy to Guangdong to ban smoking. In order to understand the situation in foreign countries, he organized a team to translate foreign newspapers and books. He presided over the compilation of the book "Sizhou Zhi", which recorded the geography and history of more than 30 countries on five continents in the world. Later, Lin Zexu sent all the information of "Sizhou Zhi" to his friend Wei Yuan. Wei Yuan wrote "Haiguo Tu Zhi" based on the "Sizhou Zhi".

In 1840, the Opium War broke out. Due to the failure of the war, Wei Yuan was filled with grief and patriotism. In March 1841, he angrily abandoned his pen and joined the army, joined the governor of Liangjiang, and joined the governor of Liangjiang. The general Yuqian of the resistance general, went to the Dinghai Front to conduct the war. In 1842, he wrote the 50-volume "Haiguo Tuzhi". Why did the author compile this book? Wei Yuan explained it very clearly in the preface of the book "Haiguo Tuzhi": "Why is this book written? It says: It is made by using the barbarians to attack the barbarians, and it is made by using the barbarians to create barbarians, and it is made by using the barbarians to control barbarians."

This means that the purpose of writing books is to understand the "barbarian feelings", help people learn their "long-term skills" to resist foreign aggression and boost national prestige. This gives those stubborn people who are arrogant, regard advanced Western science and technology as "strange skills and lewd skills", and blindly exclusion, and hit a fierce palm. Wei Yuan pointed out in "Haiguo Tuzhi": "Practical things are strange skills rather than lewd skills." To deal with foreign invaders, they cannot "give away their strengths and be willing to harm them", but must "stop their harms and learn from their strengths". Only "those who are good at learning from the four barbarians can control the four barbarians."

From 1847 to 1848, Wei Yuan added the "Haiguo Tuzhi" to 60 volumes and published it in Yangzhou; by 1852, it expanded into a hundred volumes. The book has reached as many as 500 volumes. This is the earliest masterpiece in modern Chinese history written by the Chinese people on the introduction of the situation of countries around the world. In addition to the "Four Continents" as the basis, the 100 volumes of "Haiguo Tuzhi" has cited 14 historical records of the past dynasties, more than 70 works by Chinese and foreign ancient and modern schools, and there are more than ten memorials and some personal knowledge. It should be noted that the historical materials are also written by foreigners. Among them, about 20 works such as "Foreign History" by the British Malisson and "Geographical Preparation" by the Portuguese Magis.
