23 There are no atheists on the battlefield

"Master Lu, please rest." His subordinate pulled a chair and helped the man who was trembling and trembling as he walked with great care. The man seemed to have just crawled out of the blood bucket and was baked on gunpowder. It turned out that the yellow military uniform had turned red and exuded a pungent smell of gunpowder.

As soon as his butt leaned against the chair, his whole body seemed to be limp. He gasped and looked at his hand that was covered in blood. There was still blue veins swelling up and clenched the steel knife that was cut with many gaps in the blade. He let out a long sigh, as if he had used all his strength to put his index finger away from the handle, and then his middle finger, one finger after another, and with a click, the knife fell from his hand to the ground. His right hand, which was bent with five fingers, was trembling violently in the air, and it was so painful that he couldn't even clench his fist again.

This person was Zhu Qingzheng, the Taiping Army who led his troops to attack the gap. He was sitting in the bedroom in the back hall of the prefect of Shaozhou.

He started from the Taiping Army camp and rushed into the gap, ruthlessly chasing the Qing Dynasty's defeated soldiers, and ruthlessly storming the yamen, completely occupying the center. He didn't know how many enemies he had cut down, but he only knew that the pain in his body had already made half of his body twitch and numb.

There were bird gunshots, shouts, and screams in his ears, but he didn't want to ring at all, and his vision gradually blurred. He just wanted to sit on this chair and feel the most comfortable position. He could fall asleep with his head raised.

"Master of the brigade, please drink a little water?" A soldier handed a glass of water to the Taiping general in front of him with respect.

"Water? I'll take a break." Zhu Qingzheng was so tired that he couldn't open his eyes. He squinted his eyes and said vaguely.

The subordinate was stunned for a moment, but quickly turned around and took the water away with breath. But as soon as he turned around, he heard a loud noise behind him. When he looked back, he was stunned.

Zhu Qingzheng, who couldn't even open his eyes just now, suddenly turned over and fell to the ground. Because he had no strength to stand up, he slid down the chair and knocked over the chair. He knelt down on his knees, and his right hand, which was like claws in the air, was suddenly clenched together by his left hand. He closed his fists and put his fists on his chin. He closed his eyes and shouted, "God! Thank you for giving me the victory and glory today! Thank you for taking care of me!"

"There are no atheists on the battlefield!" This sentence is a famous saying by a British military priest on the European battlefield.

No matter how brave the soldier is, no matter how firm the atheist belief is, it is another thing on the battlefield.

Here you are just an ant.

You will die at any time, and you are brave and you can't stop bullets, spears and big swords.

Many of the things I see here are luck that cannot be mastered by humans or unknown.

Therefore, soldiers are often extremely superstitious in wars. Needless to say, the Taiping Army, illiterate and ignorant new soldiers went up to the battlefield twice, one more pious; that is, the Qing Dynasty, when the generals went to the temple before going to war, they would worship the gods every day, until they did not work, and the soldiers believed in everything.

(Author’s note: This capitalist priest has historical limitations and class limitations. I don’t know that there will be a ideology that represents the direction of historical development and the final outcome of mankind in the future! Everyone should look at it with a critical perspective.)

But Zhu Qingzheng is different from those illiterate who know nothing except farming. The more people know, the harder it is to fool them.

His family tradition is to pretend to be a god and jump into a great god, and to travel around the world, you don’t believe whatever you say.

Just like Buddhism, I promote the gods and Buddhas all over the sky to the foolish village girls. There are all kinds of Bodhisattvas and Arhats in the temple, and I deceive you to pay for money. However, in the Confucian believers at that time, it was difficult for these people to read poetry and books. Buddhism changed its face and claimed that we are the Godless religion and worshiped the great wisdom of the Buddha. (The authentic Buddhist doctrine is indeed the Godless religion, and I am afraid that many friends will be surprised. But monks of all dynasties have been rich people, and they will not be able to get these real estate and incense money without playing double-faced things.)

The distorted Bible of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom is not good, but Zhao Kuo can fool him Zhu Qingzheng.

First, Zhao Kuo said one by one, which would definitely make you stunned; second, he felt that Zhao Kuo, the superior of the government, was hard and simple, and deserved respect; a very important point was that after the start of the southern expedition, Zhao Kuo showed a striking military talent.

When I was following Hong Xiuquan and the others, Zhao Kuo was just a normal general from Xiao Gui and Cao Sui. He never pointed at war. If you say you can fight, I will resolutely follow the order.

What is war? War is an art.

All war artists are innovators. For example, Yang Xiuqing and others have developed gunpowder cave siege, rapid construction of floating bridges, and rapid marching methods in land and water. This has made the subordinates admire him very much. Zhao Kuo is very weak in this regard, and gives people the feeling that he is following the generals who are following the leader.

But as soon as he left the Kingdom of Heaven, Zhao Kuo became a different person. For example, when he arrived at the city of Shaozhou, Zhao Kuo ordered the digging of double-layer tunnels. This creativity shocked the soldiers who attended the military meeting at that time and did not close their mouths for a long time. After thinking about it, they could only admire them, because if this succeeded, it would almost mean that the first wave of defense of the defenders could be destroyed in an instant.

Zhu Qingzheng and some of the generals carefully selected by Zhao Kuo also followed the Qingmao Group to listen to his teaching. The geography was really incredible. Zhu Qingzheng realized that he was completely a frog in the well before, and he added three points to his respect for Zhao Kuo, thinking in his heart that this might be a real sage.

If you convince the other person, you will naturally start to believe the other person's words.

Zhu Qingzheng began to study the Bible that he felt was not very convinced. Before the death battle today, he prayed devoutly for the first time. It seemed that from that moment on, he was not fighting alone, but they were fighting - him and the God above his head.

After achieving great success and glory and life, he had been lying on the chair and half asleep, and suddenly seemed to hear God talking to him (in the hallucination that probably belongs to religious people, I think of a specific beauty every day, and maybe I could suddenly see her smiling at myself in bed at night). He was shocked and knelt on the ground with all his strength, and was already in tears.

From this moment on, he was bewitched by Zhao Kuo and became a true believer.

But he didn't know that his mentor Zhao Kuo actually didn't believe in anything at all. And he was not a sage, he was just a gangster brother in his previous life.

At this moment, a Taiping soldier ran into the door and clasped his fists at Zhu Qingzheng who was kneeling on the ground and said, "Report to the brigade commander, we have caught a group of Qing soldiers robbing the house in the city, but they said they know you."

"What's the name?" Zhu Qingzheng waved his hand and asked the man to help him up, but he couldn't get up at all.

"Zhang Sande, he said you know."
