30 Destined to pass by: Hong Xiuquan and Luo Xiaoquan
Never seen this person before, but Zhao Kuo recognized who Luo Xiaoquan was at a glance!
A group of people outside the door were dressed in Chinese farmer dress and held a hat in their hands, but one of them was a blonde and blue-eyed foreigner!
As he jumped over the threshold like a leopard, Zhao Kuo rushed into the group of farmers who were disguised as a soldier, knelt on the ground with his legs, hugged Luo Xiaoquan's thighs, tears in his eyes, and shouted: "God has mercy on us, the lost lambs! You are here! It proves that he has not abandoned us, the poor people!"
While rubbing his face with Luo Xiaoquan's thigh, he looked up secretly.
Zhao Kuo believes in God? That's nonsense!
But the acting skills of the underworld boss Zhao Kuo are not worthy of it.
In fact, any successful gangster brother has the strength of a movie emperor, because he emphasizes open and secret struggles, and is the most bullying of the weak and afraid of the strong, and diplomacy. When facing government and other powerful forces, he can act intimate or tremble, but when facing damn competitors, he looks arrogant or smiling, and when facing idiots and idiots, he looks fierce or pretends to be stupid. In short, one person has a thousand faces and the most despicable group of people.
Later Nobel Prize winners and Thomas Schelling, who studies game theory, once said this famous saying in his award-winning masterpiece "The Strategy of Conflict",: The game of the underworld is most similar to the strategies between countries.
(Author’s note: The book has a Chinese version, you can order and study it.)
Sure enough, this pious cry and real tears made the blonde and blue-eyed foreigner immediately burst into tears. He touched Zhao Kuo's headscarf, looked up, and shouted in extremely skillful Chinese: "Thank you, Lord! Let me find these lost lambs!"
Although Luo Xiaoquan had no power or power, he was a great figure influencing China in the 19th century.
Because he almost baptized the king Hong Xiuquan!
When Hong Xiuquan, the idiot scholar who lost his name, was working as a private school teacher at home in the 1840s, while relying on his own emotions and "delusional dreams" (who saw a black bearded god and killed the black dragon, he was a cult who died writing books and spreading him to him, someone in Guangzhou noticed him.
This is Luo Xiaoquan.
Some people in Guangzhou learned that he had read Liang Fa (a Qing Dynasty man, a handicraft, who had little literacy and a Protestant, published his own booklet about Christianity. For this reason, he was imprisoned for one year, and all his property, including houses, were collected by the Qing government. The most terrible thing is that because this person's knowledge and theoretical level were too low, the booklet was full of errors. But the problem was that the booklet was collected by someone who went to Hua County to take the exam, and began to study it under the blow of continuous failures!) and he was already religious and preached, and some of his friends (Feng Yunshan) were doing missionary missions with him. This incident reached the ears of members of the Guangzhou Han Association, and members of the Han Association were working with Luo Xiaoquan.
When Luo Xiaoquan came to China, he was still a young man in the countryside. He came to China from Tennessee, the United States under the inspiration and invitation of the famous Guo Shili (see the note later).
This person was the first foreigner to come to Guangzhou after the Opium War from 1839 to 1842.
He lived in the outskirts of Guangzhou, dressed in the Qing Dynasty, built a small church with a bell and learned to speak Hakka. As a young man in the western region who was a fledgling and spanning the Pacific, he attended Guo Shili's Han meeting and gratefully accepted a small reward paid to him by Comrade Guo Shili.
Luo Xiaoquan was from the Protestant Baptist Church in the United States. They believed that the convert and piety of believers were seen in the process of baptism.
(Baptistchurches, also known as Baptist Church, is one of the major Christian Protestant denominations. He was in the first half of the seventeenth century.
They fooled Hong Xiuquan and should go to Luo Xiaoquan to ask for future salary!
The idiot scholar Hong Xiuquan really did this!
We think about it and know that God cannot give you food. A scholar who survives by teaching a private school. In Guangzhou, where you are not familiar with life, a stable salary is so important for him to support himself and his family (Hong Xiuquan had a wife and family at that time, so how could he support his family if he didn't teach?). No matter how pious you are, hearing the message of this unexpected fortune would only be a surprise.
So this unlucky guy was fooled and went to Luo Xiaoquan to ask for money.
But this only shocked and disappointed the servant of God: Are you fucking asking me for money before you baptize?
To you, is money or God important?
As a result, the baptism was postponed and the two quarreled.
Maybe Luo Xiaoquan just asked, and asked with some distrust, but Hong Xiuquan, whose self-esteem was frustrated by the imperial examination, could not stand the doubts even after all.
This is normal.
The arrogant Hong Xiuquan couldn't stand being suspected of being a liar who cheated money, so he left Guangzhou angrily - thinking about it, this elder brother got up and smashed all the statues of Confucius in his family because of a dream. He was a scholar! Then he began to rebel! How proud is he! How strong is his blood? Or in other words, he firmly believes that he is the only desire to make him gain self-esteem, becoming the only pillar for his failure to survive. Without this, he would either go crazy or commit suicide! How could he be suspicious of an American priest in Guangzhou!
The only time Luo Xiaoquan mentioned this in history was that he said, "Before I was completely satisfied with Hong Xiuquan, Hong Xiuquan decided to leave."
Before being completely satisfied - it was already explained that the trust crack appeared between the two at that time, but the problem was that Comrade Hong Xiuquan was so angry that he didn't plan to repair it at all!
From Hong Xiuquan's reaction, it can also be seen that this scholar who jumped into the trap of his smart Chinese compatriots with Luo Xiaoquan was so angry: After leaving Guangzhou, he did not go home at all, but went west to find his buddy Feng Yunshan! What else can he do besides spreading the teachings he received in his dreams?
He was a poor man, so he borrowed some money from Guangzhou and carried all his belongings on his back.
The most valuable thing is his most cherished demon-slaying sword, and the sword sheath is engraved with the word "Quan" given by the black beard God in his dream.
He couldn't even afford the ship, so he hiked north along the river and bought the most humble food on the road to satisfy his hunger.
And the biggest danger he faced was not hunger, but bandits.
How chaotic was Guangdong at that time? A bandit killed county officials and entourages and occupied a county with stolen seals for several months. This plot in later novels is a completely fucking reality in Guangdong.
When in Meizixun Town, the junction of Guangxi, Guangdong, the future "king of heaven" was once robbed by bandits dressed in anti-smuggling patrols wearing official uniforms.
Hong Xiuquan, who was robbed, "petitioned" to the prefect of Zhaoqing, but people said that Mei Zixun was not his jurisdiction, but this former scholar also helped Comrade Hong Xiuquan with a friendly support of half a tael of silver. With this little money, Hong Xiuquan finally had the money to take the boat.
During this arduous journey, Hong Xiuquan wrote anti-poems for the first time and used "I".
He wrote a poem on the wall of a small temple on the side of the road:
I am the king of heaven in Gaotian, and you are the monsters on the ground;
Confusing God's children, he is so arrogant that he dares to be worshipped.
God sent me to the mortal world, where is the devil's trick?
I am not merciless in the Heavenly Army, and the demons are about to leave.
See if you see it, judging from the talent shown in this poem, we have to say that Comrade Hong Xiuquan failed the exam and was simply a brilliant way of heaven!
This is a fucking limerick! If you can get into the imperial examination with this level of poetry, you may be afraid that Zeng Guofan and Comrade Li Hongzhang will rebel! The dark side of the imperial examination will be!
But it was because of the lack of IQ as a Confucian imperial examination level, and because of his smart Chinese compatriots, he was unable to submit to God, and finally drove this poor man crazy and became the supreme king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in the decay of the Yangtze River Basin.
In history, Luo Xiaoquan, a devout missionary who failed repeatedly
"No matter what you call them - bandits, thieves, patriots, or Christians - their careers are unparalleled until now," commented on the Taiping Uprising, published on September 17, 1852, when he said of the Taiping Uprising, "It is unquestionable that God's hand is inserted into this great movement."
When the missionary Luo Xiaoquan in Hong Kong relaxed his hand, the North China Newspaper that he was reading almost slipped to the ground. "Hong Xiuquan"! The moment he reached out to grab the newspaper, the name jumped into his eyes, making him feel bright.
In history, no matter what happened between Luo Xiaoquan and Hong Xiuquan, it was definitely not an unsolvable crack of deep hatred. Luo Xiaoquan finally went to Nanjing and was treated with courtesy. Although he was frightened by the scene in front of him, he began to "slander" the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom crazy.
But he was once the teacher of the King of Heaven, and everyone knows this.
All the guys in Guangxi know that before raising troops, the King of Heaven had once looked for a foreigner from Guangzhou, Luo Xiaoquan!
That's enough!
What Zhao Kuo needs is such a thigh.
Of course, Luo Xiaoquan and Gordon, who was famous in later generations, were actually "stupid donkeys" in their superiors. Such guys who are just crazy about speaking up for justice and don't care about anything except his own moral values. In Chinese and Western civilizations, they are actually fucking unpopular, and they are all hit or excluded.
Of course, Zhao Kuo also disgusted with such stupid ass, but he didn't care.
This is just a springboard.
He was a springboard for his army and diplomacy.
So he hugged Luo Xiaoquan's thighs in tears and shouted: "This is the teacher of the Heavenly King!"
