Chapter 1 Meishan
In the fourth year of Emperor You's reign in the Song Dynasty, Renchen passed.
Fifty-seven years have passed since the uprising of Xiaobo Li Shun, King of Western Shu, and the phenomenon of tea and salt theft has become common again.
In the aftermath of the uprising, Sichuan gained a reputation as "Sichuan people are difficult to govern". Sichuan became a place where the imperial court was herding sheep and left to fend for itself. All policies and management were very lax. It was very different from the Central Plains and became an administrative special zone.
Fourteen years ago, the Party-controlled areas in Bianzhou of the Song Dynasty rebelled, and Xixia was founded.
It was also that year that a noun clique appeared in the Song Dynasty court.
Twelve years ago, Ouyang Xiu wrote "On Clique", which consolidated this view, also lifted the veil of the tenderness of the Song Dynasty's imperial struggle, and clarified, theorized and modeled the issue.
Eleven years ago, the Song-Xia War began, and the Song army was defeated in Haoshuichuan.
Ten years ago, Xixia, with the power of great victory, counterattacked the Song Dynasty. The Song army resisted in Dingchuan Village and was defeated again.
With the national crisis at hand, the Khitan people also began to take advantage of the situation. Fu Bi sent an envoy to the Khitan to negotiate an alliance and promised to give him one hundred thousand taels of silk and silver.
After long negotiations, the peace agreement with Xixia was finally reached eight years ago.
The Song Dynasty recognized Xixia and gave Xixia 70,000 taels of silver, 150,000 bolts of silk, and 30,000 jins of tea every year.
In just a few years, in addition to external troubles, there were also internal worries.
Wang Lun, Zhang Hai, Guo Miaoshan, Jinzhou people, Guanghua army, Guiyang barbarians, Wang Ze... riots occurred one after another.
Four years ago, the Yellow River burst its banks at Shanghukou.
In the court, the shadow of the failure of Qingli's New Deal has not yet dissipated, and disputes have arisen over the river management strategy. The order has been changed three times, and the decision has been delayed for a long time.
Later, because Zhang Yaozuo, his relative, was dismissed from his post, the imperial strife arose again. Song Xiang and Wen Yanbo successively resigned from office.
This year, after many trials, Nong Zhigao finally revealed his true colors and established the Great Southern Kingdom.
The imperial court couldn't bear it anymore and sent Di Qing to attack him.
Just this year, many customers from official stores in various prefectures on Kui Road fled, and the government issued a law to rectify the situation.
Fan Zhongyan, a great Confucian of his generation and a model of human ministers, passed away suddenly with a heart of concern for the country and the people, and with many regrets and regrets.
Also this year, the imperial court ordered Wang Yaochen, Wang Shouzhong, Chen Xu and others to compare the Qingli calendar. In the fourth year of Emperor You's reign, the world's wealth came in and out, including gold coins, silk ribbons, salary and grains, etc., and they were all consumed together. By the first year of Emperor You's reign, , entering one hundred and twenty-six hundred and twenty-five thousand nine hundred and sixty-four, and leaving the rest.
…
At this time, the Yangtze River was not called the Yangtze River, only "Dajiang" or "Jiang". Going west from Jianglingfu, passing through Xiazhou, passing the Three Gorges, and crossing Kuizhou, the Yangtze River entered the Minjiang River section.
The Minjiang River then passes through Luzhou and enters Jiazhou, then changes its direction to the north.
There are several small rivers flowing into Jiazhou.
The water color of one of them turns blue and green in autumn and winter, and the color is pleasant. The bamboo forests on both sides are verdant, so people call it the "Glass River".
Continuing uphill along the Glass River, you can see a low mountain lying next to the river. The mountain is low and looks like a toad. This mountain is also called "Toad Mountain" because of its shape.
On the side of Tooyi Mountain, there is a small town named Meishan City because of its eyebrow-shaped mountains. This is the place where Meishan City is located, the transit point between Jiazhou and Chengdu Prefecture.
It is just 160 miles away from Jiazhou and Chengdu. It is an excellent water transportation hub.
The place is not big, but it is very prosperous. The entire Meizhou has 30,000 households, and the prefecture has 5,000 registered households.
The jurisdiction of the Song Dynasty was divided into Lu, Fu, Prefecture, Army, and County. According to the population and prosperity, it was divided into Chi, Ji, Wang, Jing, Shang, Zhong, and Xia.
Among them, Chi and Ji are mostly capital cities and important towns in the world. Although Meizhou is located on the border, it has four counties under its jurisdiction, namely, three counties and one county. It ranks fourth among the twelve prefectures on Yizhou Road, and Xun is Shangzhou.
The end is prosperous.
If you go ashore from the South Gate Pier and pass by the Ye Pavilion, you will see fields and lotus root ponds on both sides of the city suburbs. This is a legacy of Li Bing's water conservancy. It is the time when the lotus flowers are in bloom, and the pastoral scenery is really beautiful.
Meizhou lotus root is famous all over the world.
There is often a circle of taro fields around the farmhouse, and the variety is usually the red-billed taro produced locally.
The products here are abundant, and the red-billed taro tastes average, so not many people eat it. However, the leaves of this taro are similar to those of the canna, with red edges and green hearts, which is very cute.
In addition to relieving drought, people actually use it as greening.
There is a stone bridge in the south of the city, which the locals call Nanqiao. After passing the Nanqiao, you will see the low earthen city wall.
After the Song army entered Shu, only four cities were preserved. Meizhou City was located near the southwest border and was considered a survivor.
There is a gatehouse on the city wall with three large characters "Civilization Gate" on it.
Entering the city from Wenming Gate, a straight bluestone road extends to the north, and the houses on both sides of the road gradually become denser.
Close to the base of the city wall, not far from the right hand side, there is an official pavilion called Zhaigui Pavilion. There is also a pavilion behind the pavilion, which is Kuixing Pavilion, where Meishan Station is located.
On the left side of the main road is Shuyuan Tower, from which you can enjoy the view of the Glass River.
There were many festivals in the Song Dynasty. On February 2 and March 3, there was a flower market and a silkworm market. People from both urban and rural areas gathered here, men, women, old and young, and it was very lively.
Continuing northward along the stone road, there is another small stone bridge lying across the stream. The name of the bridge is "Tongjin Bridge", which means that if people in the city can get out of this bridge, they have to go to the dock and take the waterway to Dajin.
After passing the Tutu Temple by the bridge and walking a few hundred steps, you arrive at the core area of Meishan.
First there is the Confucian Temple and the Academy on the east side of the road, and then Meishan Academy.
Behind the academy, on the hill to the east, there is a large palace building, the shape and exquisiteness of which is the Wenchang Palace, the crown of Meishan.
To the west of the road is the most prosperous commercial area, with rows of shops of various colors and numerous signboards.
There is an alley among them, which is the Meishan distribution center for the textile industry, the most important industry in Sichuan, called Shaxing.
These large commercial houses and stores dealt with large merchants from Jiazhou Prefecture and Yizhou Prefecture. They belonged to the noble community at this time and were also the residence of the local upper-class families, the so-called "Jiang Qing" family.
This is actually a folk custom, and of course it is the lingering embers of the clan system. The state does not promote it, but the people cannot prohibit it, both in the north and the south.
The Jiangqing family has been intermarrying for generations, and even if their surnames are wealthy, it is difficult for them to marry Qin and Jin.
There is no place for small traders and the lower class to go. Continuing northward along the stone road, there are two consecutive intersections, making the main streets and city wall structure of Meishan City look like the word "Yong" with a square opening.
At the two intersections, there is a high platform with four sides at the bottom. There is also a building on the platform. The building is covered with green tiles and has cornices facing each other. It is regarded as the landmark building of Meishan Town, Daqing Tower.
The two Daqing Towers are official buildings with bells and drums on the upper floors and are not open to the public on weekdays.
However, due to the open terrain downstairs, which provided shelter from the rain, it became a natural and convenient place. Therefore, together with the street between the two buildings, a market spontaneously formed in an unknown year.
Small traders covet the shade, coolness and convenience here and like to gather here. Residents also like to exchange information and gossip here.
Meishan is a Fukuo County, so there are two government offices, the state capital and the county capital, both of which are located at the junction of high-end commercial areas and ordinary commercial areas.
Continuing to the north, on both sides of the stone road, there is Huoshen Temple and Jiexiaofang on the right, and Yuqing Temple and Dongyue Temple on the left.
Connecting to the city wall and further north, you will reach the Beijiao Campus.
The residents were busy coming and going, the vendors were shouting and selling, and they were all busy with food and clothing for the day. They didn't notice a child coming from the north alone, and now he was standing at the street corner in a daze.
"The old man is so trustworthy! I'm still a child!"
It has been five years since I came to this world.
In his previous life, oh no, I should say his future life, he was an orphan who grew up in a village eating the food of hundreds of families.
The village where he is located is a relatively isolated small village in the 21st century.
However, the folk customs are kind and honest, and he is indispensable for his food. Since he was a child, he also learned the skills of self-reliance from the villagers.
He likes to read, but there are not many extracurricular books for him to read in the village. However, many old people keep some old books with yellow paper. He is not picky. It turns out that he is obviously an engineering dog, but he has developed a liking for ancient literature and reading ancient books.
.
If I had to find another hobby, it would be watching documentaries.
After graduating from university, he was admitted to the civil service system of Meizhou City and worked as a clerk in the government office. After working there for only two years, he paired up with an old comrade and started poverty alleviation work at the grassroots level in rural areas.
His achievements were outstanding. Based on his own strengths, he piloted intangible cultural heritage projects in several towns and villages, and became like family members with the local intangible cultural heritage inheritors.
Thanks to his dedicated efforts, various intangible heritage businesses have become quite impressive. Old comrades privately revealed that the superiors are planning to promote him to the position of Director of the Poverty Alleviation Office, a legitimate position.
He was happy, not for his own achievements, but to celebrate the effectiveness of his ideas, so he got himself a bottle of wine from a small wine shop in the village, and accidentally ran to the opposite side of the Qingyi River Giant Buddha in Jiazhou. After getting high, he acted like a drunken maniac.
, shouting that I wish I could have been born a thousand years earlier. Then...
