Chapter 67 The Stupa Listening to Sutras
Mr. Liu was not vague, so he agreed immediately and took me to stroll in the city of Wudi.
As I expected, the ghosts we met along the way would hide far away when they saw him, just like a rabbit seeing a tiger.
"Old man, are you also a ghost immortal?" I couldn't help asking.
The old man smiled and shook his head, "Yes, not."
I didn't dare to ask, is this thing, is it, is it, how can it still come out?
The old man seemed to see through the question in my heart, "I was originally a willow tree that became a spirit, but later I suffered a disaster and my body was destroyed. Then I came to the city of Wude Death. The plants, trees, sand and gravel were not in the six realms of reincarnation. If I had to say what I was, then I might be a demon."
"Sorry, old man, I mentioned your sad past." I quickly apologized.
Unexpectedly, Mr. Liu just shook his head, "There are fixed numbers in life and death. It has been about two thousand years since I came to this city of Wude Death. If I can't even figure it out, then I will be in vain."
If I were not in the state of soul, I would definitely go to the waist when I heard what he said. It has been two thousand years since I came to the Wude City. Then what era would he have to be?
I remember hearing from Sister Xiaoyao that plants, trees, sand and gravel can also practice, but just enlightenment will take a long time, and trees can be as few as hundreds of years, and most as many as thousands of years.
For trees, enlightenment of spiritual wisdom is just the beginning of practice, because they themselves do not have spiritual wisdom.
In fact, there are a few immortals in the Outer Hall, except for the fox, yellow, white, and willow, and the like, Mr. Liu, who can be classified into the Five Elements Immortals in the Outer Hall, but there is basically no tree immortal in the Outer Hall.
"Old man, why don't you become a horse fairy?" I asked curiously.
"When people get older, they don't like to move anymore. They can't go to other people to eat and live for free." Mr. Liu smiled and shook his head.
Although I didn't ask, I didn't believe it. The intuition told me that he was definitely not going to the court because of this reason. So why is it because of it? I look down on the horse hall?
It’s right to think about it. His Taoist practice for thousands of years is not as good as his general leader in the Mama Hall, but there are few people who are the leader of the Five Elements Immortals.
People often say that they are full and warm and think about lust. To put it bluntly, they are full and full. With Mr. Liu here, my life safety is guaranteed. Looking at the ghosts coming and going, I can't help but feel sad.
I was actually dead. In just one day, I completed the transition from a living person to a dead person. From then on, my relatives, friends, games... everything I am familiar with will be far away from me.
The more I think about it, the more sad I feel, but ghosts don’t have tears, so my facial expression becomes very exciting.
"Young man, are you sad?" Old Master Liu keenly noticed my changes.
There is nothing to hide from this thing, I readily admit it.
"Life and death, slowly you will find that compared with the years that have almost no end after death, the time of living is simply too short. This is the reason why life is short."
"It is actually very rare to be able to practice, because only practice can lead to birth, old age, sickness and death, resentment, love and separation, and seeking, and the eight sufferings and eight difficulties of the five evils. In the years of slightest years, there are almost no one who can embark on the road of cultivation with a human body. More are mountain spirits, wild monsters, monsters, and monsters, and you will gradually get used to it."
The old man said to me earnestly, and directly put forward the big truth.
At this moment, I was really crying and crying. "Old man, my thoughts and awareness can't keep up."
The old man smiled without saying a word, and pointed to the front.
I looked over and saw that the number of ghosts in front of me was obviously smaller, and the ghosts coming and going didn't look so fierce.
"Is this?" I don't understand why this change occurs.
"The sutra listening institute is about to arrive. Ghosts with heavy resentment generally do not come here, and those good ghosts influenced by Buddhism are unwilling to let them come over to disturb the purity of Buddhism." The old man said.
So that's it. I suddenly realized that it seemed that the best place for ghosts without resentment was to come to this sutra-listening site. Of course, if they have the fate of Buddha and are not killed on the road.
After all, not everyone can be as lucky as me, and have experts to help me.
Later I also realized that the atmosphere of the Wude Death City is not unreasonable. Most of the people who have no resentment have been killed, and those who can practice are all those who are awakened by evil spirits.
It is not necessary to say how low the possibility of a traitor and evil person is. Over time, there will be a group of crows here, with only black ones.
Suddenly, I remembered Shen Hongdie whom I met without roots. Although I had only met once, she left a deep impression on me.
"Mr. Liu, do you know a girl named Shen Hongdie? Her family lives in Tuhua Garden, a rootless land." I asked.
Mr. Liu's smiled expression froze and then returned to normal, but I still caught it keenly. He shook his head, "Old man, I haven't left the Wudi City for a long time. I have only heard of the rootlessness and have never been there."
I hesitated for a moment and did not choose to continue asking questions. Mr. Liu was very likely to know Shen Hongdie, at least he had heard of it, but for some reason, he could not say it out. Since this is the case, there is no need to ask questions.
What he didn't plan to say would probably be useless if I asked. If I was unhappy to ask him, the consequences would be even more unimaginable.
The old man quickly turned the topic elsewhere. I knew it in my heart, so I followed him and walked while talking. Soon a huge building appeared in my sight.
It was a pagoda dozens of meters high. Through the window, you could see the monk chanting the scriptures inside. At the top of the pagoda, there was a shiny ball. After reading Journey to the West, I guess it was a relics.
Around the pagoda was a circular square, with some ghosts sitting scatteredly. They all put their hands together. The closer they were to the pagoda, the more peaceful the expressions they were. I vaguely saw that there was a faint golden light on the ghosts in the innermost circle.
The edge of the square is like a dividing line. The ghosts outside are standing and listening to the scriptures. Their expressions change from time to time, sometimes happy, sometimes fierce, sometimes confused, and sometimes relieved.
Some ghosts seemed to have had an epiphany, and took a step forward to the square, sat cross-legged, closed their hands, and closed their eyes.
Some ghosts in the square will move forward themselves, and of course, some will stand up and leave the square.
Standing here, I could already hear the sounds in the chanting site. The chanting of the chanting is Sanskrit version. I don’t know which one it is. However, in my soul state, I am very sensitive to the chanting of the chanting. Although I don’t understand, I feel very comfortable all over. The fatigue caused by running away was gradually easing.
"We are here?" I came to the edge of the square and said to Mr. Liu in a low voice, "The other ghosts are listening to the scriptures carefully, and I am really embarrassed to make noises loudly."
"Try walking forward, maybe you can go in." Mr. Liu said, walking into the square first.
I hurriedly followed me. Following him in this terrible place was the only thing that could give me a sense of security.
I walked into the square and felt no discomfort. On the contrary, as I approached the pagoda, the chanting sounds in my ears became clearer, and the feeling of comfort became stronger.
Mr. Liu looked back and saw me following me in, but he smiled happily the next moment.
"Okay, okay, you deserve to be a destined person." Old Master Liu said three good words in a row, then turned around and walked forward quickly.
I didn't feel any discomfort, so I followed behind. Unexpectedly, when we walked, we walked directly to the bottom of the pagoda, and Mr. Liu sat cross-legged in front.
There was only Mr. Liu in an arc, and I had a new understanding of him.
He sat down cross-legged and then folded his back together. When his eyes closed, he shone golden light behind him, and a lotus flower faintly shined above his head.
I was stunned for a moment, but I quickly realized that I sat next to Mr. Liu, and everyone else was sitting. It was too abrupt for me to stand alone.
What I never expected was that when I sat down, my body slid forward uncontrollably, and appeared in a position that was even more forward than Mr. Liu.
This is nothing. My body turned around by itself, and turned from facing the pagoda to facing the ghosts who listened to the sutras.
The next moment, including Mr. Liu, all the ghosts opened their eyes and looked at me within my reach.
I was so embarrassed that I wanted to turn around, but for some reason I couldn't move. Fortunately, they just glanced at me and quickly closed their eyes again.
Mr. Liu smiled at me meaningfully and closed his eyes.
I also wanted to close my eyes, but when I thought of so many ghosts sitting in front of me, I couldn't close my eyes under the psychological effect.
In desperation, I had to give up and listen to the scriptures with my eyes open.
"The incense burner suddenly burst into tears, and the Dharma realm is intoxicated. All Buddhas will hear it from afar, and auspicious clouds will be formed everywhere. Sincerity will be strong. All Buddhas will appear in their bodies. Namo Xiangyun Gai Bodhisattva Mahasattva..."
The previous scripture has ended, this one is in the Chinese version, and this one is the fragrance of praise at the beginning of the scripture.
When I was reading the Ksitigarbha Sutra, I was very familiar with this passage, but unfortunately I didn’t memorize it.
As the sound of chanting scriptures came from the pagoda behind me, I subconsciously started reading in a low voice.
After becoming a ghost, my memory seemed to have improved. The scriptures and verses that I could not remember were gradually becoming clear in my mind.
"The fourth meeting of Huayan, the Yamatian Palace, countless Bodhisattvas come to collect and chant verses and praise the Buddha..."
When the verse of Bodhisattva Juelin sounded, I suddenly felt that this scripture was a bit familiar.
"Calm your head and your heart is pure, the endless Buddha's great compassionate master, the fragrant clouds in the southern world, the fragrant rain, the flowers and flowers rain..."
When this passage of the scripture appeared, I had completely confirmed that this was the original vow of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
