Chapter 137 Interview in the car

On September 4, 1886, in the Iron Age, the three Annick brothers were sitting at home having breakfast.

"Irina, has our brother been stupid recently?" Irina asked while chewing a bagel.

"Why do you say that? I think he is pretty good."

There is no such thing as Annick completely treating her as two younger sisters. Thinking of the nearly fifty pounds she earned for nothing yesterday, she feels very happy. Whatever happens today, she will probably face it with a smile.

"Dong dong dong." There was a rapid knock on the door.

"Brother, your little lover knocked on the door so early?" Irena said with a hint of resentment in her tone.

"What a little lover, I was tricked." Annick said as he walked through the door.

When he opened it, he saw a woman with short blond hair and glasses standing at the door, holding a pen and paper in her hand.

"I haven't seen you in many days, so here's a surprise."

"Bang!" There was a heavy door slam.

"What, brother, who is outside?" Irena could have seen her brother being as angry as a volcano erupting, and his face was as red as a pig's liver.

"You're a fool, don't care." Annick decided to continue eating his bagel.

The knock on the door came every three or four minutes, and after about four or five times, it finally stopped.

"How's your tutoring going? I'll give you a chance to get a scholarship." After being quieted, Annick finally remembered the enrollment of his two younger sisters.

"Scholarship?" Sister Irena asked in unison.

"Yes, for the scholarship to Eggsburg University, you only have to be responsible for getting into the top ten in the women's group in the entrance exam on the 10th."

Sister Irena looked at each other.

"My beloved brother, are you too confident in your two local sisters?" Irina asked.

"There are still five days left. I'll fill out an application form for the entrance exam for you in the afternoon." Annick didn't care so much. He definitely couldn't give up the chance of admission.

"Soak the bowl in the sink after you finish eating. I'll send you to the cram school and wash it when you come back." The three brothers and sisters packed up their breakfast and prepared to go out.

Squeaking, Annick opened the door a crack and stuck his head out to see if the annoying Rita was gone. He had blackmailed himself so fiercely in the daily newspaper. Fortunately, his two sisters at home didn't read.

After looking around to make sure no one was there, Annick and his sister quietly left the house.

"Brother, who was that just now? Do you need to be so afraid?" Irena asked.

"An annoying tabloid reporter who does everything possible to undermine your second brother." Annick summed up Rita's identity and behavior in extremely capable language.

On the side of the road, Annick stretched out his right hand, making a fist with four fingers and pointing his thumb upward. This was a sign to take a taxi. There were only a few days left, so Annick decided to take a taxi to the cram school to create a better environment for his two younger sisters.

"Get in the car." Annick stopped a carriage and urged the two sisters to get in. Suddenly, he felt his left arm sink, and a heavy object seemed to be lifted up.

"Let go of Rita, I still have something to do." Rita grabbed Annick's arm like an infant ape.

"No, I won't let you go until you give me some inside information. If there's no big news, the editor will fire me."

Rita stuck to her arm like a dog-skin plaster, and Annick couldn't shake it off no matter how hard she tried.

"Is this guest still leaving?" the coachman couldn't wait any longer and asked directly.

"Let's go, right away." Annick could only reply.

"You pay the fare. I'm free to answer questions on the bus. I'm busy when you get off the bus."

"Okay." After hearing this, Rita put down her arms decisively and jumped into the carriage.

"I am Rita, a reporter from the Eggsburg Daily News." Rita did not regard herself as an outsider and shook hands with Irena and Irina on both sides.

Annick sat alone across from him, and three girls sat in a row across from him.

"Won't you introduce yourselves?" Rita's familiarity made her completely careless about other people's feelings.

"I am." Irina was interrupted by Annick before she finished speaking.

"You're not here to interview me? There's no need for my two sisters to get to know you."

"That's right, precious time can't be wasted. What's the inside story behind your suspension last month?" Rita took out a pen and paper and prepared to write it down.

"There's no inside story. If it's the Sol family's kidnapping case, I suggest you interview me." Upon hearing this, Annick immediately realized that this was a trap.

"The people at the shipyard said there were gunshots at the scene and no one was killed or injured." Rita seemed to have done some research.

"I still say what I said, you can ask the Sol family. I've been suspended, but you can't let me be fired." Annick still chose to remain silent.

"Why should I come to you if I can get in touch with the Saul family? If not, I'll be relying on you if you don't give me some important news today." Rita resorted to desperate measures, and the effect was outstanding.

"As long as it's big news?" Annick suddenly thought of Emma and tricked her!

"It's best to be exclusive." Rita said aggressively.

"Absolutely exclusive. Many people don't know it now. It's a bomb." Seeing that he had taken the bait, Annick continued to confuse him.

"What kind of bomb news?" Rita stopped writing and asked.

"I said it was a bomb message." Annick deliberately did not explain.

"Huh?" Rita tilted her head.

"My brother probably means that there is really a bomb." Irena explained.

"Bomb? Why don't I know where it exploded? Has the information been blocked?" Rita asked questions like a barrage of questions.

"There were multiple bombs placed in front of important institutions, but they didn't explode. Is there any more inside information?"

"More insider information?"

"I think the lady who worked with us to investigate the serial murder case early last month has more information." Annick didn't point it out. Even Rita should have known what he was hinting at.

"You mean Emma Granger? I understand, the driver stopped the car." Rita immediately jumped out of the car to find Emma.

"Wait a minute, Chefeller."

"Ah, I almost forgot, no need to look for it." Rita grabbed a handful of coins and put them into Annick's hand. The coachman immediately jumped out of the car after he stopped.

"Is this where you are, sir?"

"Continue to go to cram school, the sooner the better." I decided to avoid this crow's mouth, the sooner the better.

Annick sat in the carriage and counted the coins in his hand. He was tricked again. It turned out to be five farthings less than the fare. He must block this unscrupulous reporter.

"Study hard and don't think too much." Annick now has personal experience with parents before the college entrance examination.

I looked at my pocket watch and saw that it was 8:30 in the morning. It was still time to take a bus and carriage to the black market. I had the 500 pounds in mind.
