Chapter 15 Abandonment
Caesar pulled Annick aside and whispered.
"So, are you interested in joining us? When the Son comes, he will restore the glory of the Father. Then it is not impossible to make you a follower of God."
Feeling lustful, Annick took a few steps back and looked at the old man in front of him with vigilant eyes.
"Do you have to pay dues? I don't have any money."
Seeing Annick's attitude, Caesar shook his head and said: "Vulgar, our membership fees are purely voluntary. The biggest expense is the food expenses of the orphans outside the door. Our teachings require simplicity. Are you still worried?"
Will I cheat you out of money?"
Annick asked in confusion: "Then how do you make money? You can't even take care of these dolls by yourself."
"Senior, this kind of extraordinary organization that voluntarily accepts government supervision will receive a stipend every year." Matthew interjected to make Annick understand.
So it turns out that it was a ploy by the xx Arts Committee to defraud the Kingdom of Bruguet of subsidies?
Caesar's face turned ugly when he heard this.
"Are you thinking of something rude? They confined us to Iron Cauldron Lane, so they naturally had to pay us, otherwise we would have gone out to preach."
Being a loser again, Annick shook his head.
"Snapped."
The main door of the hall, or church, was violently kicked open, and a middle-aged man walked in carrying two huge sacks, and a bundle of firewood in his hand. The weight of several hundred pounds was as heavy as the air in his hand.
The middle-aged man put the thing in his hand on the ground and looked at the three people. His face was silent, his eyebrows were like swords, and his eyes were like candlelight. He was a very dignified man with a sense of oppression.
Very strong, Annick concluded in his mind,
The middle-aged man looked at Caesar and said.
"Bush, are you deceiving people to join us again? Forget it, let's just let that damn nihilistic faith in the Holy Father end here."
"Pfft." Annick couldn't help but laugh. His real name was actually Bush.
Bush blushed and said, "What do you mean it ends with us? Could it be that the faith that has been passed down for thousands of years ends with you and me?"
"There are only two or three old men like you and me, a middle-aged extraordinary person. I will send you away. After these people outside raise you up, will Dawn Morning Star still have a future? Our extraordinary inheritance will be ended."
Many people looked at him in shock and asked in a hesitant tone: "Claude, you don't want to be Caesar? Don't you want to take over my position as leader?"
Claude smiled bitterly and replied: "Caesar? A dying association, what hope does it have to stay here? Of the twenty people in our class, I am the only one who has been promoted to extraordinary. You old men are still awakened in your fifties and sixties."
, I still want to become a demigod, and I don’t want to be stuck in front of a spiritual person all my life. Let me go. After sending you old men away, let’s disband this group of brats after they’ve been raised.”
Bush didn't say anything for a moment after hearing this. He smiled bitterly, shook his head, and said to Annick and the others.
"The two police inspectors will be here today. I am a little tired today. Don't worry, such a sluggish association will not cause any trouble."
After Bush finished speaking, he slowly walked up to the second floor, looking like he had aged ten years in an instant.
Claude pointed to the door and said, "Let me give you two a gift."
Annick declined his offer,
"No, come back next week. Let's go, Matthew."
"Okay senior, goodbye brother Claude."
"Well, goodbye, I'll leave this place to you."
Annick felt that this conversation had a bit of meaning, but he didn't think about it in detail.
The two of them carried large and small bags back to the entrance of Iron Cauldron Alley and stood outside the brick wall. Annick remembered that he was already a superpower and tried to see if he could release magic power through the air.
"Ma Xiu, stand at the back, this wall will move."
Ma Xiu stood back obediently and said, "Senior, that's all."
Annick placed the ancient book he was holding in his left hand on the ground, stretched out his palm and pointed it at the wall half a yard away.
Closing his eyes, Annick felt Peng Bai's magic power rushing from his mind to his palms.
"Boom."
Surging magic power surged out of Annick's left palm, and then the leather glove in his hand was torn apart by the outflow of magic power, and exploded into pieces in the air.
"Boom."
The brick wall spread out after receiving the magic power, and soon the passage leading to the tavern was revealed.
"Let's go, Matthew."
Annick picked up the ancient book and pretended that his mistake just now did not exist.
"Okay senior."
After the two of them packed the purchased items, they drove the carriage back.
Matthew was humming a song while holding the reins, and Annick closed his eyes to regain his energy.
"Hey, are you here to complain?" Matthew's surprised tone sounded like a silver bell in his ears. Annick opened his eyes and had already returned to the office building of Section 9. A scene stopped in the courtyard.
A blue-painted carriage with a sword and saber emblem painted on it.
"It's just a carriage. The other party is not a fool. I think they are here for peace talks. Matthew, just park the car and we can go in normally."
Annick came to a conclusion and calmly directed Matthew back to the office.
Merlin was sitting in his office making coffee and chatting with people. The person he was chatting with was a man wearing a blue uniform. He was holding a cane. His uniform was neatly maintained and his leather shoes were neat.
It is polished and polished, giving people an elite feeling.
Arthur, who had had a little conflict with him a few days ago, stood obediently behind the man, holding two paper bags in his hands, the same ones that had been opened on the coffee table.
Annick knocked on the door and asked, "Why are you two here today?"
When Merlin heard this, he stood up and introduced: "Section Chief, our neighbor is here as a guest. This is Captain Poole, who is here to congratulate you on taking office."
Don't reach out to hit the smiling person. This is the same no matter where you are. Hearing this, Annick hurriedly put down what he was holding, stretched out his hand and shook Poole's hand.
"Welcome, welcome. I had a little misunderstanding with your captain a few days ago. I hope the misunderstanding will be resolved after today."
Poole stood up and shook hands with a smile. His hand was not very strong, it should be an ordinary person. Poole smiled and replied:
"Of course, my incompetent brother-in-law has made a few people unhappy. I have already taught him a lesson. This time I specially brought four cookies to apologize to the four of them."
Cookies? Are they the ones placed on the coffee table? Annick looked at them and saw that the packaging was very nice and the fragrance was good.
