Chapter 32 Banks

Annick got off work on time at five o'clock in the afternoon. The nearest national bank near the port is on Birch Street near Warren Street.

Annick went home and changed into casual clothes. After washing his face with cold water, Annick walked towards Birch Street.

The bank in the port area is a four-story white building with four white marble pillars erected on the front of the bank. Blue tiles cover the main building.

The main entrance of the bank is a double glass door. Annick walked into the bank and looked at the pocket watch on his chest. It was five twenty in the afternoon.

There is a middle-aged man standing next to the front of the hall wearing a black uniform and holding a wooden stick in his hand. He seems to be a bank security guard. There are windows for deposits, withdrawals, and other businesses in the hall. It may be that the workday is about to get off work, and there are no windows in the hall.

Not many people.

No one was even queuing up at the deposit window. The only people withdrawing money were three or four men in formal suits and two or three women in ruffled and lace skirts.

Annick walked to the deposit window and knocked through the thick glass. Behind the window was a female teller holding a newspaper and reading attentively.

He had short black hair and sparkling eyes. After hearing the sound of knocking on the glass, the little teller hurriedly put down the newspaper and showed his iconic eight-tooth smile.

"Hello sir, are you here to make a deposit?"

"Yes."

"Have you had a passbook before? This is the first time you come here today."

"No, get me a new one."

"Okay, sir, please provide the certificates issued by government agencies, such as military officers, soldiers, police officers and other related certificates or civil servant certificates."

"Is this okay?" Annick said and took out his police ID.

"Okay, wait a minute." The teller took it, looked at the ID carefully, and compared the photo with Annick himself.

"Chief Annick? It's hard to believe you are only 21 years old."

"Maybe I'm too developed, is that okay?"

"Oh, of course, please wait a moment." The teller took out a small book with a red cardboard cover, opened it and placed it on a special small typewriter, and then typed out the information on the certificate.

After about two or three minutes, the teller finished typing. He raised his head and said to Annick.

"How much did you save this time?"

"About 150 pounds."

After finishing speaking, Annick took out the envelope from his pocket, took out the 15 ten-pound notes in the envelope, and then handed them to the teller through the hole in the counter.

The teller took the banknotes and carefully looked at the discolored ink and the anti-counterfeiting standards on the banknotes one by one. Then he felt the paper with his hands, and after counting, he put the money in the drawer.

"Confirm receipt of 150 pounds. Sir, please write me a withdrawal password, six digits." The teller handed over a piece of white paper and a pen through the hole.

Annick wrote the passwords he commonly used on Earth on a piece of paper and handed it over.

The teller looked at the paper, then took out something similar to a ledger, and replaced it with a large typewriter.

He knocked on the bank book and ID. After about five minutes, the teller handed Annick his ID and a red passbook.

"Please accept it and hope to come back next time. It takes two weeks to deposit and withdraw the passbook in state-owned banks across the country, but it can be deposited and withdrawn in Kailange area after one week."

After Annick accepted his ID and bankbook, he was about to turn around and leave. Unexpectedly, at this moment, four men wearing black hoods rushed into the hall.

The leading man took out a sawn-off double-barreled shotgun from his cloak. The other two men took out a revolver. The last man looked nervous and took out a pocket tremblingly.

Just as the security uncle was about to say something, the leading man hit him with the butt of his gun, causing the uncle to stagger and fall down.

"Boom." The double-barreled shotgun made a dull but loud sound, and a stream of black smoke emitted from the muzzle. "Ahhhhhhhhhh," screams echoed in the hall.

"Don't move, put your head in your hands and squat down next to the nearest wall. We are just people who have been squeezed by the dirty government until we have no choice. We are here today just to get back the property that originally belonged to us, and we will cooperate honestly.

Yes, I guarantee your safety and will not touch a penny of your property. If you are disobedient, I can only let you and the shotgun bullets in my hands test which one is harder." The leading man jumped on the counter and shouted loudly.

With.

Just as the female teller at the deposit window was about to call out to Annick, Annick made a shushing gesture with her hand and blinked crazily at her.

After receiving the message, the female teller immediately knew what it meant, and followed the robber's instructions and squatted down against the wall with her head in her hands.

Annick and the remaining two people holding revolvers among the seven or eight guests in the hall were driven into a corner. The leading robber shot and broke the lock of the safe door leading to the counter. There were three counter ladies and a

The middle-aged man squatted inside and shivered.

"You also go out and squat with the customers. Where is your manager's office?"

The leading man pointed a gun at the middle-aged man. The man pointed to a wooden door at the back, then was kicked by the robber and staggered out of the counter.

"Why are you standing there, come with me." The leading robber seemed a little annoyed by the slowness of the robber holding the pocket, and shouted loudly. The two of them smashed open the wooden door of the manager's room, and there was a loud noise and the sound of various objects hitting the ground.

, and then there was a gunshot.

The ladies at the counter next to Annick were shaking even more. A disheveled middle-aged man was driven out of the room and slapped on the face. A red palm mark appeared on the left side of his face. The leading robber took

He pointed the gun at the manager and said.

"Where are the bank vaults and safes? The key is with you. There should be deposits accumulated over the weekend that have not been transferred on Monday. Take us there, otherwise your head will explode."

The man was trembling, and he took out a bunch of keys and handed them to the robber, "They are all here, take them, don't kill me."

"Fuck you, there are so many keys. How do I know which key corresponds to the more valuable things in the safe? Come in with me." The robber did not take the key, but cursed.

"No, if I open the lock for you, I will be assisting in the robbery. Even if I am not held accountable by the police afterwards, I will be fired from the bank," the manager replied.

"Haha, if you don't take us to unlock the door now, your brain will blossom immediately."

The robber put a gun to the manager's head, and the middle-aged man was forced to stand up and walk to the vault behind the bank.

"Keep an eye on them. If anyone makes any move, you'll be welcome." The leading robber shouted to the robber guarding the hostages.
