55. Antique Clock

Hans was very satisfied with a set of nearly 90% of the new electrical appliances.

Li Du asked: "How much income can you get?"

Hans patted the white refrigerator and said, "I bet it can sell at least 4,000 yuan. If you find a suitable buyer, it will be fine to sell 5,000 yuan."

After hearing this, Li Du was disappointed: "So few."

Hans widened his eyes: "Hey, man, do you really think you are the Son? Do you think you are Jesus' fucking brother? We only invested four hundred yuan, four or five thousand yuan, a lot of income!"

"I think this is very rare."

"Big brother, then if I told you that we didn't even let the warehouse that earned 400 yuan in the past be spared, would you feel better now?"

Phoenix had some grocery stores, but Hans dragged the appliances back and sold them to Kevin, the owner of the flagpole city.

"That's how relationships come about," he explained.

The old man Kevin immediately smiled when he saw the appliances they brought. He patted Hans on the shoulder and said, "Thank you, guy, where did you get these good goods?"

"Phoenix."

"OK, thank you for remembering me, an old guy from such a distance. I will give you a satisfactory price, a full set of 5,000 yuan, right?" Kevin said.

This price is indeed possible, reaching their expected price.

Hans did not bargain and shook hands with him and said, "No problem, but it's still the same rule. Please give us a meal of roasted lamb."

Kevin laughed: "I guess you would say that, come with me quickly. My nephew slaughtered a few sheep yesterday, and I left some lamb chops."

After having a hearty meal of grilled lamb chops, they were about to prepare for Jerome's auction after they returned.

Jerome is an ancient mining town located 60 kilometers southwest of Flagstaff City, close to the side of Cleopatra Mountain, and is quite famous in Arizona.

The town’s reputation comes from its long history and internal sliding prisons. It is almost the same age as Arizona, and it is one of the first areas to benefit from this state.

Jerome used to produce iron ore and copper ore, but unfortunately after half a century of digging, all of these ores were mined and then people moved away.

Compared with its heyday, the town now has less than one-ten population, so it also has the nickname of a ghost town, with many gloomy empty houses inside.

The town is built on the hillside, surrounded by rugged mountains, with many ups and downs on the streets and many stairs in the houses.

Walking up there, Hans smiled, “Does this remind you of a childhood game?”

Li Du asked: "What game? The games we played in our childhood may not be the same."

Hans showed a sudden expression and said, "Yes, our childhood is at the two opposite points of the earth, climbing the hill and ladder."

"What?"

"Climbing the hill and the ladder, this is what I'm talking about in my childhood game," Hans said.

Li Du shook his head: "I don't understand, I haven't heard of it."

Hans wanted to explain, but they had already arrived at their destination, an old warehouse company that had been around for a while.

Seeing the company's signature, he got to the point: "As you know, Jerome is a place full of history, so if you have good luck, we can get some antiques from a hundred or two years ago here."

This is their goal. According to information provided by Andrew, there are a batch of old antique clocks hidden in the auction warehouse.

The warehouse company is called Hongyan Warehouse Storage Co., Ltd., which had three or four hundred warehouses at its peak. It was the largest company Li Du had ever seen, but now there are less than fifty warehouses in operation.

There are many warehouses to be auctioned this time, with twenty-five ones.

Hans said that the warehouse company was about to go bankrupt, and they would accumulate a batch of warehouses that had not been renewed and then auctioned them together instead of renting them out.

Li Du nodded. Fortunately, his control over Xiaozhu has increased a lot, otherwise he would not be able to read these warehouses at once before he was released.

It is still impossible to read it at once, but the first time he was looking for antique clocks, which was a purposeful search, so it would be easier.

Ten of the twenty-five warehouses are mini warehouses, and fifteen are small warehouses with small areas, while antique clocks are relatively large in size and several are together, so it is not difficult to find.

He controlled the bugs to fly and fly inside, quickly searched, and soon found these clocks in a small warehouse.

What made him happy was that these clocks were packed in wooden boxes, and the outside was wrapped in several layers of kraft paper. They were well preserved and were not easily discovered by treasure pickers during auctions.

Li Du counted and found that there were fifty or sixty boxes in total, most of which were empty, and only nine boxes had clocks.

They should be of mass production type, with similar styles, all in nanmu, gilded on the outside, Roman numerals on the dial, and enamel patterns with red, blue and white colors intertwined on the dial, which looks very exquisite.

When he found these clocks, he recorded the number of the warehouse. This was warehouse No. 240, which had many wooden boxes inside, and some linen and raw cowhide were placed at the door, which was easy to find.

Li Du guessed that the boxes were all antique clocks and clocks in the past, but most of them were sold, leaving these nine.

It just so happened that these nine were left for him, but he could not judge the specific age or model of these watches, so he didn't know how much they were worth.

Finding the clock and completing the task, they return to the center of the town to start solving the problem of food and accommodation.

Hans seemed extremely familiar with the whole of Arizona. He took Li Du to Jerome State Historical Park and said, "Take you in a luxury house tonight."

Li Du said in surprise: "There is a mansion in the historical park? We won't sleep in the park, right? Wouldn't that become a homeless man?"

Hans said confidently: "Follow me."

After driving around, a large mansion appeared at the end of the road with a sign hanging on it saying 'Jimmy Douglas' yard'.

"Jimmy Douglas was Jerome's first mining tycoon. This house was built in 1916 and witnessed the most glorious time here," Hans introduced.

"Douglas never married for life and had no descendants. Before he died, he donated the house to the country and changed it to a historical and cultural hotel."

The house was big and there were many houses. The two of them booked a presidential suite, which cost only 155 yuan a night, and they could get one day off for orders for three days.

After putting down their luggage, they went for supper, which was naturally Hans arranged.

Hans asked, "You are not afraid of acrophobia, are you?"

Li Du nodded and said, "Of course, what's wrong?"

Hans didn't answer, and the answer soon emerged: they entered a park called Audley Hydefrem, where restaurants were hidden in the valley.

The restaurant they entered was built on the mine, with transparent tempered glass on the floor. Looking down, it was a bottomless mine cave!

"This is one of the most stylish restaurants in Arizona, guess how deep the mine is?" Hans asked.

There are incandescent lamps on all four walls of the mine, but Li Du still couldn't see the end of it, so he shook his head and said, "It's hard to guess."

Hans said: "1910 feet, 650 feet taller than the Empire State Building!"

Li Du exclaimed: "Who came up with building a restaurant in such a place? What a crazy and genius idea!"
