Chapter 81 The Inscription and the Primary School

Chuncheng is an important city in China's automobile industry. Among Lin Dawei's college classmates, five or six of them worked in this city. Among them, they had the best relationship with a classmate named Zhang Jiahu. The Santana he drove when he returned to his hometown during the Spring Festival was borrowed from him.

Du Qiu called his father on the evening of April 18 and contacted him to borrow a car. He took a plane to leave the capital early the next morning. When he arrived in Chuncheng at half past 9 o'clock, Zhang Jiahu was already driving at the airport waiting for him.

"Brother Hu, you are so kind. I'll just go and get it myself."

As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together. Zhang Jiahu, like Lin Dawei and Wang Changan, are both generous and enthusiastic people. He smiled and said, "Dawei said you just came back from the United States and were tired. I happened to be idle and had nothing to do, so I came here and have a ride."

Zhang Jiahu himself does not have a private car, but he works in a car factory and can borrow any kind of car. The last time he borrowed Santana, and this time he borrowed an Audi 100, which has improved a lot.

Around 1995, the tariffs on imported cars in China were very high, with a displacement tax of 150% above 3.0 and a displacement tax of 110% below 3.0 and a price of 110% below 3.0 and a price of mercedes-billion yuan. Even if you can afford it, there is no need to spend that money. Therefore, the Audi 100 is almost the only high-end car to choose from. Du Qiu doesn't like its old-fashioned shape, but he does need a better car to carry it in China. So on the way out of the airport, he asked: "Brother Hu, how much does this car cost?"

"It depends on what model you buy. The price of 4 cylinders is 300,000, the price of 5 cylinders is 400,000, and the price of 6 cylinders is 580,000. The specific price of each place is different, but it is almost the same." Zhang Jiahu, like Wang Chang'an, moved from a low-paying and tiring technical department to a well-off sales department, and promised: "I am very familiar with the dealers in Sanjiang Province. If you want to buy it, I can help you with an internal discount."

"Thank you, Brother Hu. I'll call you first when I buy it."

Du Qiu sent Zhang Jiahu to his workplace and made an appointment to return the car after three days. Then he bought some food, drinks, medicines and maps necessary for outdoor hiking in Chuncheng, and found a shrine shop to buy some incense and candles. Then he called Heping Village to tell Du Cunzhi that there were temporary business matters that needed to be dealt with and then went back to his hometown after three days.

After preparing everything, Du Qiu drove to the deep mountains alone, preparing to find the remains of his uncle and take them back to his hometown for burial.

In 2011, the scientific expedition team found only a small part of Du Qiushi's remains. Therefore, before crossing, Du Qiu and his father Lin Dawei once walked back and forth between Heping Village and the pool based on the satellite map provided by the scientific expedition team. He planned to find all the remains as much as possible. However, the underground river was hidden deep and twisted, so he could not go down to explore. He returned empty-handedly, but he also remembered the geographical location of the pool.

The water pool is less than 30 kilometers straight from Heping Village, but the mountain road is winding and it takes about 80 kilometers to walk. The mountain is steep and inconvenient to walk. Therefore, Du Qiu did not choose to start from his hometown, but went to the neighboring county and chose a path with a gentle mountain and a shorter journey from there.

He purchased a full set of mountaineering and camping equipment in the United States. He has exercised regularly in the past few months and has increased his strength significantly. He has crossed mountains and ridges and walked like a flying walk. He stayed in the mountain overnight in a tent and arrived at his destination at around 8 o'clock the next morning.

After careful search, Du Qiu found his uncle's remains. He was as thin and incomplete as found by the scientific expedition team in 2011. He felt sorry for him and was very sad. After putting it away, he took out the incense candle and yellow paper from his backpack, worshiped him respectfully, and then cleaned the traces and left the pool.

Two days later, Du Qiu replaced Audi with a light truck, carrying a carriage of books and some sports and entertainment supplies to Heping Village. The whole village was sensational, and everyone praised him for his family and never forgetting his hometown. Du Cunzhi was even more overjoyed and could not even maintain his poker face. He climbed into the carriage himself, touched the rows of brand new books, and smiled like an old farmer who had just harvested the grain.

The next morning, Du Cunzhi didn't even read the calendar, so he asked a few neighbors to help him, demolish the old house, and then announced that he would build a literary and entertainment center on the original site. In addition to books, he also had to make some table tennis, billiards, and DVD players, so that the old and young men in the village had a place to relax when they were fine.

"Principal Du is now like a different person. He used to be extremely strict. When he heard the students say that they were watching videos, he became furious. A few years ago, he almost smashed the video hall opened by Xiao Wang in the town. Unexpectedly, he actually opened the video hall himself."

"In the past, Qiuzi was not here, and he felt uncomfortable and had no place to vent. Of course, he didn't like anything. Now Qiuzi is not only back, but also so promising, so he is of course enlightened."

"Qiuzi is indeed promising. Last time Chunhua called back and said that he designed a notepad. He sold more than 100,000 yuan a month and made a lot of money."

"You are all old almanac. Qiuzi went to the United States last month. It is said that a foreigner personally invited him to give a lecture, including food, accommodation and round-trip flight tickets. Even Americans asked him to be a teacher. What's the point of selling a few notepads!"

"If Principal Du had not built a primary school with gritted teeth and built a primary school, our village would be illiterate and no one would have to go out to work. Now Qiuzi has money and has not worn gold and silver, nor has he eaten or drunk, but has bought a cart of books and returned. He really has a father and a son."

"That's right, I heard people say that the Du family was a scholarly family for generations, but I never believed it very much. Now that I believe it, with their family as a role model, there will definitely be more and more college students in our village in the future. As long as the children have knowledge, they are afraid they will be in trouble?"

After the old house was demolished, Du Qiu found several idle neighbors such as Huang Dashan, and went to the town to buy a coffin in the name of making a tomb for the "adoptive father" who died in RB. Then he built a new grave near his grandmother's tomb, and quietly buried his uncle's remains.

"Qiuzi, what's the name of that RB mute? I'll find someone to carve a monument for him."

"He can't speak or write. His name I haven't known." Du Qiu looked at the loess in front of him, and after a moment of silence, he said, "I'll write a sample for you later. Please help find someone to carve it."

"OK."

After elementary school in the evening, Du Cunzhi went over and looked, burned some yellow paper, then folded his hands together, stood in front of the grave and said, "Big brother, all sins are made by human traffickers. I don't blame you or blame you. On the contrary, I am very grateful to you. You educate Xiaoqiu very well and better than I teach myself. I have to thank you."

After he finished speaking, he was about to kneel down to worship. Du Qiu hurriedly stopped him and comforted him: "Dad, this is just a tomb of clothes and clothes. It's enough to get your mind. It's not too late to go to RB to find the ashes before worshiping you."

Du Cunzhi thought about it, so he stopped kneeling. After burning the yellow paper, he asked, "Xiaoqiu, you don't even know his name, what are you going to write on the inscription?"

Du Qiu was silent for a while, then recited an ancient text and said, "The sky is connected to the peaks, and the birds are not connected. The wandering children are homesick, but no one knows the west and east. The sky is the same. The different places are different and the sea are surrounded by the sea. I am optimistic and follow the residence, so why should I give the palace. The soul is the soul, and there is no sorrow to threaten."

This is a passage written by Wang Yangming, a great writer of the Ming Dynasty, in "Burning Travel". The general meaning is that the continuous peaks are high and the sky is connected to the sky, and the birds are blocked. I miss the wanderers in my hometown and do not know the west and east. Although I don't know the west and east, the sky above is the same. Even though the places are far apart, they are surrounded by the sea. People who can think of themselves are home everywhere and do not have to stay in their hometown, so the soul should not be sad or frightened.

"Burning Travel Culture" is an eternal masterpiece selected in "Gu Wen Guanzhi". In the time and space before Du Qiu traveled through time, Du Cunzhi often wrote or recited this passage after learning that he had cancer, which not only expressed his optimistic attitude towards death, but also expressed his deep love for his missing uncle, so Du Qiu remembered it very well.

He chose this passage as the inscription, which made Du Cunzhi both feel and surprise. He felt that his "son" was not only diligent and studious, but also had a similar taste to him. He had a successor. Lao Huai Dachang said with a smile: "I will write a sample for you tonight, and then let Huang Dashan go to the county to find the best stonemason to carve it."

"That couldn't be better."

When Du Cunzhi wrote "Burning Travel Culture" in the evening, Du Qiu also wrote a copy. He was busy with business in the United States for more than a month without practicing, and his level has declined a lot compared to the Spring Festival. However, Du Cunzhi was not as harsh as before, and only warned: "Calligraphy is used to cultivate one's own character. You can not practice when you have no conditions, but you must not relax when you have conditions. You are proficient in hard work and play. Once a person becomes lazy, it will be difficult to work harder and harder."

“I will practice more.”

After Du Qiu finished practicing calligraphy, he took out 20,000 yuan and said, "Dad, Teacher Feng and others have been teaching you for 15 years. Now they don't even have a formal establishment. They only have less than 200 yuan in salary every month. Life is very hard. If you share this money with them, you will treat it as the bonus for these years."

In the 1980s and 1990s, the salary of rural private teachers was very low. Not only did they have no benefits, they were often owed. Sometimes they could even delay for half a year. Du Cunzhi had to go to the county or town to get some money to get his salary. In the past few years, when it was really difficult, he even had to borrow money from Lin Dawei to get some salary and let several teachers have a good time for the Spring Festival.

Du Cunzhi was very happy to see that Du Qiu not only brought back a bunch of books, but was willing to pay the teacher out of his own pocket, but refused and said, "The teacher's salary is the responsibility of the state. If you take the money out, it will be incorrect, and it will be like something!"

"Dad, I didn't say I'm paying them a salary, I mean I'm giving bonuses." Du Qiu put the money on the Eight Immortals table and said, "Teacher Feng and others are not from our village. They come every morning and come back at night. They have been persisting in the wind and rain for 15 years. They have taught so many children to study. They should not be treated unfairly by reason. They must give some material compensation and rewards. Otherwise, you will all retire in the future. Who is willing to teach in the village?"

This incident has always been Du Cunzhi's heart disease. He was speechless and stared at the money on the table in a daze. After a moment, he asked, "Is it affecting your business if you take out so much money all at once?"

"It's okay. My sister is hosting the company now. It runs well and is not short of money." Du Qiu took out the notepad business as a guise. After explaining it a little, he suggested: "I think it's better to gather the whole village and get a donation box at the entrance of the primary school, so that everyone can donate some anonymously, and then share it with the 20,000 yuan to Teacher Feng and others. This is legitimate and more meaningful."

"That's an elementary school, not a temple!" Du Cunzhi cursed with a smile and said, "Donating money to the teacher is not shameful. Why do you do this trouble?"

"Everyone will donate as much as they are willing to, and donate as much as they are unwilling to do so, so as not to compete and moral kidnapping will lead to good things and turn good things into bad things."

Du Cunzhi thought this was a good way, so he collected the 20,000 yuan and said, "Your brother-in-law... Dawei raised a sum of money last year to help the primary school renovate the classroom. If your business is prosperous in the future, you can get more money and help install a few air conditioners in the classroom. Now it is cold in winter and hot in summer, and it is very uncomfortable for children to go to class."
