Chapter 104: The Night of Origin

On the ASCHEUK Mothership.

Dr. Ivo got what he wanted as he wished, left the mothership with a swagger, leaving a large group of robots to help the ASHIELD. It took another half an hour before finally successfully subduing them all.

Nick Fury stood on the messy bridge, and the agents below were busy. Dr. Ivo escaped, but they also successfully captured more than a dozen nanobiological robots sent by Dr. Ivo. The current analysis of researchers shows that the material of their shell is the same as that of the Amoez armor. Now there are multiple areas on the ASCHE mothership waiting for repair, and the failed air defense system has to be restarted. Dr. Ivo doesn't know how the virus implanted in has to be cleaned. While cleaning up these messes, they have to continue to try to track the whereabouts of the escaped Dr. Ivo.

Fury's dark face was long and his annoyedness was written on his face. No one on the boat would choose to provoke the boss at this time.

But the trouble seems to be not over yet.

"Sir! There are flying objects approaching!" a special agent shouted, "Its flight speed is extremely fast and it will be...."

Before he could finish speaking, the floor of the bridge was violently penetrated through, like a bullet emitting green light shot into the command center. Eric, who switched to the green light mode, floated lightly in the command center air, and his cold eyes looked directly at Fury through the eyepiece.

After separating from Nightwing from the Lex Building, Eric rushed straight to find Fury, the only person he knew, who knew the truth.

All the agents immediately put down everything at hand and pointed their guns at the green light source floating in the air.

Fury waved his hand: "Put down your weapons, this kind of thing won't hurt him."

The agents looked at each other and then put down their guns, but remained vigilant.

When Eric landed in front of Fury, Fury sighed and said, "If it were still for Ms. Charlotte's problem, let's talk about it another day. Today is not the time, kid. As you can see, there are enough troubles today."

"I found the Alpha project's laboratory." Eric spoke coldly.

Fury was obviously surprised and asked, "How did you find it?"

"In the New York branch of the Lex Group, there is a laboratory called 'Alpha' hidden." Eric said lightly, "Ivo guided me there, where I found the research log left by my father, and was also raided by the Amozor armor dresser code-named Beta."

"That's the system Ivo developed himself. He planned it all," Fury thought for a moment, and said, "So you've learned the truth from the log?"

"No, there is only a part. My father said that he planned to defect from the organization, and there was nothing behind him. That's why I came here." Eric said word by word, "Tell me the truth."

Fury looked at him for a moment and turned around.

"Come with me, let's talk in another place." He said lightly, "In addition, removing the armor and walking around in this fluorescent light will make you look stupid."

Fifteen years ago.

It happened that night, the night Eric remembered when he met his parents for the last time.

"It wakes up! Doctor!" Matt Augustine, who suddenly appeared at the door of Charlotte's house, panting, pale as if a patient with severe hypoxia. "We have moved it to a safe place, and I'm here to pick you up!"

Eric vaguely remembered that his father jumped up excitedly like a child, grabbed the coat in front of the door, pulled his mother and ran out.

Not long after they left the door, raindrops fell from the gray sky, and in the blink of an eye it turned into a downpour. The water flow seemed as if someone was standing on the clouds and pouring downwards. When Eric was three years old, he looked at the rain curtain outside the window, and an ominous premonition arose in his heart that he might not see them again.

The Charlottes and his wife followed Augustine into a black car and drove forward in the heavy rain. The headlights were like two sharp knives stabbed into the misty rain curtain. But the heavy rain did not extinguish their excited atmosphere at all.

"Are you sure it's awake?" Dr. Charlotte asked inexplicably for the first time.

"Be sure, just as sure as my last name is Augustine!" Augustine assured.

"But we haven't been able to wake it up for so long, why did we suddenly wake up?"

"I don't know." Augustine shrugged, "We speculate that it may be a change in some environmental factor that caused it to wake up."

"Have the data been extracted?" Ms. Charlotte also asked anxiously.

"No, not yet. Its condition is not stable yet...this is why we urgently need you to rush over."

With a sudden brake, the wheels suddenly stopped after a sharp sound on the ground that was extremely slippery and washed by the rain. The three of them hurriedly got out without waiting for the vehicle to be stable and rushed to the institute in the rain.

If Eric could see this scene with his own eyes, he would have been amazed that the hidden research institute was already extremely familiar with it. This was exactly where he saw several times in memory fragments similar to dreams. Although he had never been here in person, this rich and strange atmosphere, the smell of medicine in the air, like a hospital, was deeply engraved in his mind.

When the three of them came in, the researchers were busy like ants on the hot pan, and urgent shouts came one after another. After noticed that Dr. Charlotte came in, the researchers who were in charge rushed up.

"I heard it woke up?" asked Dr. Charlotte, "How is it?"

"Something went wrong." The researcher was sweating profusely and was so nervous that he could not stop trembling. "It was a little... out of control. We were disconnected from the link in the storage, all monitoring methods failed, and we have completely lost control of the situation below. We are not sure if it has gone wild, if so..."

"The situation will be extremely dangerous." Dr. Charlotte said, frowning and meditating.

After thinking for a while, he decided to say, "You guys are waiting here, I'll go down and take a look. I'll restore the surveillance and video equipment, and you'll keep the surveillance here."

"You go down alone?" Augustine widened her eyes, "No, that's too dangerous. If it really goes wild..."

"Then many of us go down will die." Dr. Charlotte said seriously, "This is exactly why I have to go alone. Don't waste time arguing. I am the project leader, remember? Treat this as an order."

Augustine stared at him with a complicated look for a moment, and finally nodded: "Okay, then be careful."

Dr. Charlotte went down, and everyone held their breath nervously, staring at the black surveillance screen without moving.

A few seconds later, the surveillance screen really recovered, and Dr. Charlotte's small back appeared on the screen, as well as the accented alloy door panel with the words "Danger".

"The situation has been confirmed and everything is normal."

The moment Dr. Charlotte's voice came back through the communication, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

"Wait!" Ms. Charlotte shouted at the side of the metal door panel in the surveillance.

The heavy sound of the earth shaking, the whole building trembled, as if a wild beast imprisoned in a cage woke up from its long sleep, beating hard at the cage that was holding it. A dent suddenly appeared on the heavy alloy door panel.

Everyone's face changed, and they knew that the worst had happened.
