Chapter 186: The Last Moment

On the 18th birthday, a day that most people pay special attention to. People give this day a special meaning, which often symbolizes the beginning of a person's maturity and social recognition. People often celebrate this meaningful day in various ways.

But Raven is not.

She hates birthdays, and every birthday means that she is one step closer to "that day", just like the countdown timer is turned back one day. When she was young, someone predicted this way that day when she was eighteen years old, everything was destroyed.

This is why she hides her birthday from everyone because she hates celebrating her birthday and even deliberately wants to ignore it.

But there are always some things in life that cannot be escaped.

After the hour hand of the bedside alarm clock turned over the midnight number, a strong ominous premonition arose in Riven's heart, just like an instinct of an animal feeling the danger and suppression. She didn't close her eyes all night, and curled up at the head of the bed in her thin pajamas and hugged her knees, her mind was messy. Today is her 18th birthday. After today, every moment may be the moment of fulfillment of the prophecy.

She sat there all night until the early morning sunlight pierced from outside the curtains, making her snow-white skin almost transparent. She glanced at the clock at the head of the bed, and the hour hand just passed six o'clock.

Really, I was so panicked. I had known my destiny for a long time, but I had never been so impatient in the past so many years. Has my mentality changed since I met Eric?

Ruiwen sighed softly, got out of bed, quickly changed her clothes and went out.

Early in the morning, seven o'clock.

The rare thing that woke Eric this morning was not the alarm clock, but the smell, which filled his entire house, like a choking smell of something burning.

Eric got out of bed, rubbed his eyes, and touched the kitchen according to the smell. He was surprised to find that Riven, dressed in casual clothes, was busy working in the kitchen, and the pot made constant "popping" sounds. The pungent smell and thick oil smoke formed a forbidden area that humans could not get close to. It was hard to imagine how this girl survived in such a harsh environment.

Eric touched the kitchen with the choking smell of smoke, unable to even speak, so he quickly stepped forward and turned on the range hood and glanced into the pot. Seeing the fried black stuff, it was impossible to look directly at it.

Raven didn't look back, staring at the black stuff in the pot stubbornly, trying to lift it from the bottom of the pot with a spatula. But it was really too tight. Eric saw her gritting her teeth and using her slender arms to use enough strength, but the thing was still scattered on the bottom of the pot.

"Bang!"

With a crisp sound, it was finally lifted up by Raven successfully, and jumped out of the pot exaggeratedly, and a graceful arc passed through the air and was thrown out. Eric quickly looked and picked up a clean plate, stretched out his hand with a thunderous momentum, and caught it with a beautiful "pop".

"Good...good craftsmanship!" Eric praised with a dry smile.

It's so dangerous. Fortunately, the combination with the Armor of the Armor makes Eric's motor nerves and reflex abilities beyond ordinary people, otherwise he wouldn't be able to react...

Ruiwen also served a plate for himself and sat at the dining table.

Eric asked tentatively: "I said this is..."

Although Raven did not answer, judging from her reaction of pouting and looking unnaturally to the side, it seems to be true?

Well, although I don’t know why, it’s rare that Riven would try to make breakfast for him on his own initiative, even for her cute reaction, he couldn’t stop eating it, right? Eric simply stopped thinking about it and bite it at the dark shell.

Maybe he underestimated the power of dark cuisine, and the response was even more intense than he thought. The terrible smell quickly hit the brain from his mouth, and his throat seemed to catch fire in an instant. He didn't know what his expression looked like, but he thought it must be very exciting. Although Raven's efforts were very touching, it has to be said that this girl really doesn't have the talent for cooking.

"Good... delicious..." It felt like I was holding this sentence in my last breath. After all, it was made by the goddess, and even if I was crying, I had to give at least a good review.

Ruiwen also took a bite and immediately put down the tableware. His expression was also very unnatural. As expected, even she herself really felt that this thing was difficult to slap. Others might not be able to see it, but Eric could see at a glance that she was disappointed like a defeated rooster, and seemed to have suffered a considerable blow.

Eric smiled and patted her on the shoulder.

"Don't force yourself to do something that is not suitable for you. Even if you don't do it, you're unique." He said, paused and asked, "So, what kind of wind is blowing today? Why did you suddenly run to my house to make breakfast?"

"Nothing." Raven's eyes fell unconsciously at the base of the wall. "After all, you have helped me so much and made breakfast for me many times. I also want to... try it."

"That's it..." Eric nodded in confusion, but did not ask any more questions.

Raven took a deep breath.

"Well, go out and have something to eat...go to eat pizza."

Eric was stunned and said, "Okay...it's OK, but don't you... hate pizza?"

"It's no harm to try something new occasionally." She said lightly, her expression a little unnatural again.

After hesitating for a while, she said, "And the weather seems to be particularly good today, so I think... well... maybe after breakfast... we can... well, you know - go out for a walk or something? Go to the street, or the mall?"

Eric stared at her blankly, not reacting to the singing for a while, and wondered in his heart that there was a problem with his ear's ability to accept the sound just now.

Raven just now...Is this considered an initiative to propose a date?

"Although I don't really understand what's going on..." Eric said, smiling slightly, "But if you are with you, you can go anywhere."

Raven also smiled slightly. When Eric thought about it later, the smile was warm, bitter and helpless at the same time.

At this moment, the ASCHUAN is floating on the air carrier.

Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man and Dr. Banner in Non-Raging State, several Avengers gathered together and sat around the table in the conference room. The automatic door slipped mechanically, and Nick Fury walked into the room with a gloomy face.

"The situation is very urgent, Avengers." He said straight to the point.

"Of course, you won't call us all here without an emergency." Tony said, glancing at Dr. Banner, "especially a time bomb that is always angry--no offense, Dr.."

"Yes, very urgent." Fury said in a low voice. "We must act immediately. If the information is accurate, it could be a global disaster."

Hearing this, everyone couldn't help but become serious.

"So what, Fury?" Tony asked with a frown. "Evil alien invasion? Or is it that something non-troubled in your unknown lab has been tinkering with something untroubled?"

"None are." Fury shook his head and turned on the big screen.

A girl appeared on the screen, wearing a black jacket, tight jeans, and wearing a backpack and clamped in the crowd, looking back blankly in the direction of the camera.

"She!" Tony was shocked. Isn't this on the screen Riven?

"Rachel Rose," Fury said coldly, "one of the most dangerous people on this planet."
