Chapter 56 Magic Riot
"Bain failed."
In the dark and deserted room, several shadows sat around a round table.
"I had expected him to be unable." One person said, "I reminded you."
"It doesn't matter, he has completed his mission." Another shadow said, "The Dark Knight's attention is indeed attracted by him. Thanks to Batman, he did not notice the changes in Arkham, we were able to move to this last step. Soon...thing is about to succeed."
Arkham Asylum is an ominous place.
Although the old bones in Gotham always say this, even they never expected that this broken place could cause such a big noise. At first, only a specific group of people could feel the gathering of powerful magic power, but now they can see something strange without any special skills.
The sky in the morning suddenly became gloomy, not the gloomy kind of clouds, but the kind of night falling. The strange green light floated behind the clouds, and a green pillar of the sky fell straight down and fell into the building of the mental hospital, just like a punishment from heaven.
"Magic?" Bruce frowned, repeating the words Alfred told him in the communication, "In Arkham?"
"Yes, lord, I'm afraid the situation is very critical. I'll pass the facts to you."
Dick opened the floating screen of the mobile computer on his wrist, and the light blue light projected a virtual screen, which showed the live broadcast screen. In the picture, a green light beam that penetrated straight into the sky rose from Arkham, and the scene was as spectacular as a science fiction movie.
"Call the Bat Fighter, Dick." Bruce said with a serious expression, "We have to go to Arkham... I hope it's not too late."
The dark red motorcycle roared on the streets of Gotham, roaring loudly at everyone on the road ahead, forcing them to open the road. It was simply a wild beast with hair, rushing wildly in the block at a speed of one hundred yards per hour, like a sharp arrow off the string.
Eric lowered his body and held the handlebar tightly. The long whip turned into by the airflow made the windshield of his safety helmet whirr "huh" loudly.
He casually walked from the bottom of the hotel. Maybe the charges of stealing a car, driving without a license and speeding racing sound a bit scary, but now these are all trivial problems.
With two or three kilometers left, he could see the light column that pierced into the sky from Arkham from afar. Raven was most likely related to that one, and every second was precious. He drifted into a lane and crashed into a pile of debris and garbage, which might have saved him dozens of seconds of detour.
The Arkham Asylum was now in chaos. The moment the light column was spraying, the land of the Asylum began to tremble, and the more violent vibrations were like an earthquake, and the cracks on the ground spread rapidly. The detained patients excitedly started shouting, shouting "The Liberation Day is here." What's worse, some of the cells were destroyed by the shock. A group of madmen rushed out shouting and quickly entangled with the prison guards.
The door was half destroyed by the shock wave released by the light column. When Eric rode his motorcycle and approached at lightning, the center of the suspension bridge leading to Arkham collapsed, as if it was cut in half by a giant sword.
Eric's pupils closed, and instead of braked, he added oil. The motorcycle engine was like a silence, the front of the car was lifted high, and only the rear wheel hit the ground, like a special stunt in the movie.
The motorcycle soared into the air, crossing the broken bridge like a Luma flying over the Tanxi River, and shot into Arkham from the collapsed part of the gate.
The guards who were worried about the riot in the madhouse could not stop him at all. The motorcycle instantly crossed the open space as if entering a nobody, and rushed into the interior of the madhouse. He ran along the chaotic corridor, and the chandeliers flashed and disappeared, and some even burst out sparks from time to time. The madmen were holding steel pipes and crowbars in their hands, sweeping around like a tide.
Eric had no time to pay attention to them. Even if all the lunatics in the madhouse escaped, it was not a problem that he should have a headache. He only cared about Riven's whereabouts. The signal of the transmitter was getting weaker and weaker, and it represented that Riven's light spot had been flashing for a long time, which meant that she was either in a very high or in a underground place without signals.
He followed the signal along the route that Riven walked to Arkham's penalty area, and also chased to the wall. He jumped out of the car, and the two madmen who noticed him rushed over with half a pipe and screamed, but he knocked to the ground in a few seconds.
He took out a small black metal ball the size of a thumb from the pocket on the inside of his windbreaker. It was a miniature bomb from the bat cave. He had been prepared for the emergency when he left the bat cave and touched away a few gadgets that might be useful.
Fortunately, only Alfred was in the bat cave at that time. If Dick was still there, he probably wouldn't be able to touch or something under the other person's nose.
"boom!"
The bomb's gunpowder burst through a charred hole on the wall, revealing the rock passage. He drifted into the passage and found a portable flashlight lighting. The dim circular beam was projected on the dirty stone wall, and endless darkness surrounded it and was ready to move.
A feeling of disgust arose from the bottom of his heart. He felt serious incongruity, but he couldn't tell where this feeling came from.
When a strange green light appeared in front of him, Eric knew that he had arrived at the station.
The space that is too big to see is like a stone cave dug out by artificially, and the moldy air makes people feel very tight. A dazzling green beam burst out from the center, like a fountain, turning into a light column that soars into a sky and penetrates the layers of rocks and rushes into the surface, like some ancient ritual.
"Raven!?" Eric screamed.
The raven was floating in the air about ten meters above the ground, and its slender limbs were pulled apart by green chains in four directions, making people unable to help but think of prisoners in the execution ground. She seemed to have lost consciousness, her head was tilted to the side weakly, and she lifted up when she heard Eric's shouting and shook in a daze.
“Eric?”
She pulled her arm hard and found the green chain locked on her wrist, and finally remembered what was going on.
"You shouldn't be here!" she shouted, "Go out quickly! You can't deal with it..."
Before she could finish her words, a green smoke floated out from the source of the beam of light bursting out. It was like a soul, condensed into a human shape and stretched out its hands and feet, and the arrogant and sharp laugh was like howling ghosts and wolves, echoing in the almost endless darkness.
"I am the messenger of hell! The missionary of Youyu City!" he shouted loudly, "I am - Deacon of Black Flame!"
(P.S. Character Popular Science: Deacon Black Flame, the enemy of Batman in the DC universe, is a missionary who lived over a hundred years old. He once brainwashed Batman to make him his believer. Batman broke away from his control and exposed his true face. Black Flame was eventually betrayed and killed by his believers, and went to hell.)
