Chapter 61 Basketball

Fifteen years ago, New York Airport.

"Flights to Chicago are about to arrive at the airport. Please prepare as soon as possible..."

The man was wearing a snow-white shirt and stood in front of the sink in the airport toilet. He held water with both hands and washed his face. The deep coolness pierced the bone marrow through the skin. He raised his head and carefully looked at himself in the mirror. Suddenly, he felt that the man was so strange.

His name is Richard Parker, a man who has just made a breakthrough in scientific research across the century, but the world does not know his achievements.

"Hurry up, Richard! We're going to get on the plane!"

The tall red-haired woman shouting loudly outside the door was his wife, Mary Parker, who was in the same job as him.

Richard came to his wife with a dull look and took the coat from her hand.

"This shouldn't be like this, Mary." He suddenly said, "This is not the life I want."

"We've already discussed this, Richard, we have no choice." Mary sighed, "Be mature, you're a man with a son! Think about it for our Peter! You're making the right choice."

Richard closed his eyes gently, and when he opened them, his eyes were filled with confusion.

"Is this really the right choice, Mary?"

Fifteen years later, today, high school.

Perhaps students all over the world think so—no matter how long the holiday is, it will never be enough, and the experience from holiday to school is almost like a blink of an eye.

Physical education, one of Eric's most annoying courses. It's not that he has physical problems, but purely because it's the only class you can never sleep in a daze.

A group of energetic young people shouted loudly on the court, sweating, and the shouts could be clearly heard outside the school through the street. The boys seemed to agree that the court was the best place to attract girls' attention, and they were as active as tigers hunting.

Eric sat outside the court bored, waiting anxiously for time to pass. The scorching sun roasted the ground hotly, making a "hiss" sound like a steamer in a steamer, and just listening makes people sweat. He looked at his watch almost every two minutes, and every time the second hand moved forward, it was as long as the New Year's Eve.

By the way, someone slapped the basketball on the court and flew over it. He flicked it on the ground twice before rolling to Eric's feet.

"Eric! Hand it over!" A boy in big shorts clapped his hands, his sweat-soaked muscles were shiny by the sun.

Eric lazily picked up the basketball. He originally planned to throw it out, but his movements suddenly stopped like a stuck slide.

From the corner of his eyes, he swept to the other side of the court, and a girl in black was leaning against the shade of a big tree, looking in this direction.

It's Raven.

At this moment, he couldn't tell what was causing the mentality. In short, he took back the basketball that was about to take action. In the surprised eyes of the boys, he showed a faint smile of unknown meaning.

He took action and stood outside the court, crossing half of the court. The basketball soared into the air, and the rotating ball flashed through the scorching sun, and it seemed to have wings. It drew an arc that everyone could not reach, leaped over the boys' heads, and fell into the basket accurately in the stunned eyes, as if it had a preset result.

The basketball bounced on the hot ground for a few consecutive times, rolled for several centimeters before stopping.

"Damn!" the boy screamed before, "You can still play basketball?"

"I just don't fight, who said I won't?" Eric shrugged, "Sorry, I haven't found anything I'm not good at."

He glanced in the direction of Raven again, and a faint smile appeared on the girl's cold face.

"Eric!"

He turned around and this time he called him their physical education teacher and the coach of the basketball team. The physical education teacher was a fat middle-aged man with a big round belly and a half-bald head. A small whistle hung on his chest, which made it quite funny.

"You can play ball?"

"I...uh...had luck this time."

"I don't believe in luck, boy, I see that you have talent." He looked at Eric up and down as he spoke, nodded with praise, feeling like he had chosen the ingredients he liked in the vegetable market.

Before Eric could reply, he rushed to continue, "I believe your skills are already good. Before, I was just hiding our strength from us. But now there is no one in our team... An idiot on our team fought in the woods behind yesterday afternoon and was disqualified this season. We urgently need a talented player like you. What do you think?"

"What? Did I hear it right?" someone in the crowd said, "This kid has touched the basketball once since he entered the school, and then he is about to join the school team?"

"I... don't know much, I think maybe I'm not very suitable for basketball."

Eric is able to play basketball well, but it doesn't mean he is interested in it.

"Didn't you say trying something new isn't a bad thing?" Ruiwen came to him at some point. "You can try it. Maybe I'll join the school cheerleading team when you go on the court."

Eric was startled and looked at her expression carefully, but found that she was still covering the ground with cold frost, and I don’t know if she was joking.

Imagine how Riven looks like dancing in a sexy cheerleading uniform... Why does the picture feel weird?

"Okay." Eric smiled, "I'll attend."

"Very good." The coach nodded with satisfaction, "Practice after school, let's see what you really are."

After school.

They said that love can change a person, and Eric always thought that it was very ideal, just like "love at first sight", it should only exist in novel clips.

A person's personality should be engraved in his bones. Perhaps external manifestations will change with other factors, but things deep in it are difficult to change.

And now, he was a little shaken... Maybe sometimes, people do do things they don't usually do.

Just as he was distracted, there was another boiling sound on the court. The basketball flew away from their half-court basket, and the score of the "visit team" on the scorer became 110, and the home team that caught up with Eric directly had a score of 114.

Eric had a headache.

He originally thought things would be easy, and he could easily surprise everyone with his overwhelming strength, but the script seems not very correct so far.

It went smoothly at the beginning. He was like an unstoppable sharp knife, and he went deep into the rear one after another, easily leading by 30 points with his own strength. Then at this moment, a boy from the visiting team suddenly broke out. He was a pretty thin guy, the type of nerd who seemed to be bullied at first glance. At the beginning of the game, no one noticed that there was such a number one character on the court, and his presence was so thin that he was close to the background on the court.

Until he suddenly went straight into the ball like Eric, and scored a beautiful goal.

Then, the showdown between the two began.

This is not an exaggeration. It is almost a showdown between these two people in the whole game, and the students can't get into it. Eric looked at the weak little ghost in surprise and jumped again and again, shooting at various almost impossible angles and methods. Almost as long as he takes action, the away team's score will be locked up.

The away team's score rose straight like a Rockets, and by the end of the first half, he had already stopped at 110 points, only four points away from the home team.

Eric was very sure that the kid was obviously no longer of a high school student.

He couldn't help but remember what Sharon Carter said to him when he came to this school.

"In fact, we have been staring at this high school for a long time. This time I was sent here not only because of you. We believe that there are other extraordinary children and other superpowers in this school..."

His mind moved.

Could it be this little devil...

"The end of the world!" Just then, a blonde passed by him and muttered to his companions, "The nerd is going to rule the world! See? That boy Parker seems to have been injected with chicken blood today!"

Parker!?

Damn! Peter Parker? Spider-Man?

Eric smiled bitterly.
