Chapter 8 Coffee

It rained a day and a night, and it seemed that it finally calmed down a little. The silent drizzle flowed down the alloy frame of the modern city, like a bathing steel dragon.

"We still know nothing about the incident in the police station. We only know that several police officers have been seriously injured or even died in this incident. However, the official refused to disclose any information before the press conference. Our reporters were not allowed to interview the injured police officers. However, people familiar with the matter revealed that there seemed to be warriors wearing similar steel suits. Our reporters have interviewed Tony Stark, the well-known Iron Man, but the latter also said they have nothing to do with the incident..."

In every TV on the roadside glass window, the beautiful female announcer tells the traces of the nightmare left by last night with clear words. Eric subconsciously clasped his dark blue hood when he walked past the window in a thick cotton jacket.

"I'm really restless these days. What kind of guy do you think?" said an old man staring at the TV in the window. "In our era, people were worried about food, clothing and livelihoods, but there was no such a wild thing... do you believe this is true?"

Eric realized that he was talking to him, so he shook his head politely.

"No, I don't think...that sounds too ridiculous."

Yes, it was so ridiculous, he talked to himself in his heart.

He bought a new cotton jacket in a clothing store on the roadside two streets away, and put it on his body before the label was torn. He specially selected the largest jacket so that he could hide the backpack formed by the armor. Fortunately, it was not big after it was transformed, like a thicker disc. If you don't pay attention, no one would notice it. Although it was quite inconsistent to wrap a thin boy in such a large cotton jacket, it was better than running around with this shiny backpack on his back.

In previous battles, he had confirmed that this set of armor could simulate a super speed similar to the Flash, and verified his conjecture - this set of armor could perform mode switching. According to the display on the mode list, it seemed that the abilities of several other veterans of the Justice League were also simulated. Of course, it was just simulated with the same ability. Take the super speed just now, as for example, the intensity was not comparable to that of the original, but this was already a very amazing technology.

Eric recalled for a moment and remembered that in the original work, there was a nanorobot called "Asiamozhu" with similar abilities, but that robot copied their superpowers during the battle with all members of the Justice League. According to his current understanding of the world, superheroes have just started, and the Justice League has not yet taken shape. The ASiamozhu machine that copied all their abilities should have not been born yet. So how did this armor system be developed?

However, if you continue to think like this, there will be no result. What his parents did and why they handed this set of armor to him, these are still to be investigated.

My thoughts returned to reality. When he stopped, he had already unknowingly moved along the familiar block to the door of Emil's Cafe - his favorite cafe.

He attended boarding school, and most of his classmates would go home every weekend, and he would come here on the last day of the week, order a cup of caramel latte, and sit for an afternoon.

Sometimes there would be a beautiful black-haired girl opposite him, which was Kelly Samir who came out to discuss club activity plans with him. In front of her was hot coffee, the girl's long hair drooped like a waterfall. Her beautiful calves with long boots raised, and the sunset shone on her fair cheeks. Sometimes it was really good...

Eric sat in the same position, tasting the caramel latte alone.

The girl threw her handbag on the sofa at the table and sat down without saying a word. She waved to the waiter and asked for a latte.

"It's so cold outside." Kelly Samir took off his black plush gloves and rubbed his hands. "You really scared me yesterday, but you're fine... mind telling me what happened to you?"

Eric was a little surprised: "Do you know I'm here?"

"I don't know." Kelly shook her head, "but you come here every weekend, aren't you?"

Only then did Eric suddenly realize that today was the last day of the week.

"Let's tell me, what's going on?" she asked with a frown. "Those men in suits are like they came out of "The Matrix". How did you get into such a guy?"

"This...is a long story."

"The male protagonists of the movie usually like to pretend to be mysterious." She smiled and took the coffee from the waiter beside her, "But today is the weekend, and I have time."

"I'm not very clear either... but it seems to be my parents." Eric pondered for a while, hesitated for a while, and decided to tell the truth, "I may not go back for the time being... Go back to school. I have to figure out these things."

"Is it because of your parents?" Kelly said, "You said you have almost never seen them since you were a child, right? I hate my father very much, especially recently, he seems to dislike me for anything I do. For example, working in a restaurant, he said he would never do it, and I just want to go."

She spoke with a little pride, like an angry little princess.

Some people say that people are just a dam that requires regular flood discharge. Things will easily deteriorate if they are too bored in their hearts. Kelly always likes to tell him about the worries about home and school, and sometimes he will also bring up his own thoughts with her when he is excited.

But what she asked was quite reasonable. Why are she so persistent? Since her father and mother gave birth to him, she disappeared mysteriously as if she had forgotten that she was a person. She has been doing some great projects for so many years, but the project did not bring back any fame, fortune or money. The first one she brought back was a bunch of madmen who took his life with guns.

But even so, they are Eric's parents, the only parents.

Maybe someone else could not understand his position, but he just felt that life seemed to be empty. Even if God assigned the most ridiculous couple in the world to him, that was his only parents.

This is the second chance that life gives him, and he must seize it.

"Thank you for being with you, Kelly." Eric smiled and stood up, "but I may not come back for coffee in a while... this one is mine."

Kelly stared at the boy leaving cash, got up and left the seat.

He pushed open the store door, stepped back into the rain, covering his head with a thick hood.

"etc."

Eric stopped. He turned around and saw the girl chasing her in the rain, her hair wet in the rain tightly pressed against her white forehead. But she didn't realize it and trotted all the way.

"You are always alone, always refuse anyone to approach you, but people always need to support each other." She took Eric's hand and stared at him with her lively green eyes, "Let me help you."
