The 158th Revolution!

In this time and space, on November 7, Petrograd time, Russia, there were actually two extraordinary "revolutions" on this earth. In addition to the Russian proletarian revolution, known as the "October Revolution", there is another "Guangzhou Incident" that took place in Guangzhou, China.

In fact, the "Guangzhou Incident" happened slightly earlier than the "October Revolution" in Russia. However, due to the time difference between China and Russia, the time of this incident was recorded as November 8, 6, the sixth year of the Republic of China. It seems to be one day later than the October Revolution that occurred on November 7, so it is also called the "November 8 Revolution".

The entire coastal area of southern China has been shrouded in wind and rain for the past two days. The section of the Pearl River near Guangzhou has just experienced a storm. Now the rain has just turned lighter, and a huge transport ship is slowly sailing north in the rain and fog.

Jiang JShi and Zang Zhiping stood side by side on the bow of the largest merchant ship. They watched the fleet pass through the muzzle of Humen Fortress safely, and then breathed a sigh of relief.

Jiang JShi wiped the rain on his face and smiled at Zang Zhiping, "It's time to go through Humen and Guangzhou. Commander-in-chief, with Zhu Yizhi's Yunnan Army's Fourth Division in Guangzhou, it can definitely be easily taken down. You don't have to worry."

Zhu Yizhi was Zhu Peide, one of the "model two Zhu" in the Yunnan Army and a loyal believer of Sun Yat-sen. In October, his troops had just defeated the army of Long Jiguang, the former Guangdong governor who counterattacked from Hainan Island, and annihilated tens of thousands of enemies and made great contributions. Sun Yat-sen was promoted to him as the commander of Guangzhou Garrison! His first division, the Yunnan Army, entered Guangzhou City with just a legitimate reputation, and acted as the supporter of Jiang JS and others.

Zang Zhiping also knew that there was no problem in taking Guangzhou, but his face was still a little solemn: "Lu Ganqing would probably not be willing to lose Guangzhou, right? His Gui army is a powerful force. If he defected to the Beiyang side, plus Long Jiguang in the south of Shanghai, the situation would be bad..."

In fact, Jiang JShi was also worried about this problem, but he could not reveal it in front of Zang Zhiping, a "outsider".

He smiled and said to Zang Zhiping, "Commander-in-Chief, don't worry, the Gui army is not a solid piece. Lin Yinqing (Lin Hu), the governor of Zhaoluoyang, is a comrade of our revolutionary party. Liu Xianchen (Liu Zhenhuan), the deputy commander of Guangxi Patrol Battalion, has always been inclined to revolution, and Shen Guannan (Shen Hongying), the governor of Qinlian, is a fence-skinned man. We have sent people to "move" him. So I am twelve percent sure that this plan can be easily succeeded, and maybe the entire Guangdong and Guangxi can make a big contribution... The commander-in-chief is of course the main merit! The Grand Marshal has always had a clear reward and punishment, and there is always a minister and a governor."

Zang Zhiping smiled. He did not take Jiang JShi's wish to be appointed as an official, but just watched the fleet slowly move forward in the gradually narrowing Pearl River channel. The towns and markets on both sides gradually became denser, and finally they were connected together. Guangzhou City had already appeared in sight.

The place where the fleet docked was not the busy Nanguan Tianzi Wharf. It was at Yuzhu Wharf in the southeast of Guangzhou City, opposite Changzhou Island. There were not many ships on the pier, and only some warships of the guardian fleet were anchored here. The officers and soldiers on these warships were now loyal to Sun Yat-sen, and there were also live ammunition-loading Yunnan officers and soldiers on the pier on the pier.

Jiang JShi breathed a sigh of relief and said to the naval officers and soldiers beside him: "Cheer the flag and ask to go to the dock!"

A small officer waved the signal flag in his hand, and the opposite side quickly responded. The small officer turned around and said to Jiang JShi: "Sir. The other party agreed to let us dock."

Jiang JShi smiled and said to Zang Zhiping beside him: "It's great. It seems that this Yuzhu Wharf has been completely controlled by the Yunnan Army! When more than 10,000 of us get ashore, Guangzhou will be our world!"

The fleet finally approached the dock, and the deck of each ship was filled with soldiers preparing to disembark. Most of these officers and soldiers were adapted from the Guangdong Army trained by Jiang JShi and Zang Zhiping's 14th Beiyang Mixed Brigade, and their combat effectiveness was quite good. If we included the Yunnan Army that had been in the division that Zhu Peide had been fighting for a long time, let alone the Gui army in Guangzhou could not bear it. Even if the Gui army in Guangdong and Guangxi were concentrated, they might not be the opponent!

This old Guangxi system of Lu Rongting is completely different from the new Guangxi system of Li Zongren and Bai Chongxi in history!

At this time, the yamen of Lu Rongting's inspection envoy in Guangzhou City was already in chaos. The news that Sun Yat-sen sent heavy troops from the sea was finally reported to Lu Rongting by the spies deployed by the Gui army near Yuzhu Wharf!

But he was outside, and Guangzhou was just a few patrol yamen, the guards of the Governor's Office, and a small number of Guangxi patrol battalions, with a total strength of only eight battalions! The fourth division of the Yunnan Army stationed in Guangzhou was not enough, let alone the Guangdong army transferred from the sea? Moreover, the Gui army stationed in Dongguan also sent an urgent call, saying that there was a large group of Guangdong troops coming from Huizhou, with a total strength of less than 10,000!

This Ganshu, who was born in a green forest and said to have more than 80 scars, was at a loss now and was so anxious that he was wandering around the inspection yamen. He ordered to hold on, and then said he would retreat to his old nest in Guangxi. He then sent someone to send a power to Ma Ji, a general of the Gui army on the front line in Hunan, so that he could quickly lead his troops back to help! The inspection yamen was even more panicked, with official documents and telegrams everywhere, and many staff officers were busy burning important documents. From time to time, they could hear women's crying and scolding in Guangxi accents.

Guangdong Governor Chen Bingkun has arrived at Lu Rongting at this moment. His relationship with the revolutionary party has always been bad. He has always firmly opposed Sun Yat-sen's ability to possess force. At this moment, he is even more scolding.

"... The surname Sun is not a person! We have all been fooled by him! If I had known this was the case, why should we follow him to protect the Dharma? It would be better to admit Duan Zhiquan's Anfu-based Congress... The handsome man! His Sun Yat-sen was unrighteous and we were not kind. So I would just stop doing it and surrender to Beiyang!"

Lu Rongting turned around and glared at him: "I also want to go to Beiyang! But now Sun Dapao's 20,000 soldiers have arrived in Guangzhou, and there are still 10,000 soldiers on the way! When will the Beiyang soldiers come? They can't fly even if they have wings!"

Chen Bingkun stomped his feet: "Master, what should we do? There are only eight battalions in the city, and the total amount of battle is less than three thousand... One fights ten, so we can't win!"

He thought about Lu Rongting, and there was no way at this time. Sun Yat-sen was a local snake in Guangdong! Before Long Jiguang, the Guangxi clan, came in, both governors in Guangdong were his confidants, and the local soldiers (civilian army) in Guangdong also took Sun Yat-sen as the leader. If these people all responded, Sun Yat-sen's troops could at least double! The good days of the Guangxi clan in Guangdong were over.

"You can't completely turn against Sun Dapao now!" Lu Rongting seemed to have noticed at this time. He stood still and took a deep breath: "Sun Dapao shouldn't want to kill us all."

"Don't turn against each other? Why don't you turn against each other if you are like this?" Chen Bingkun stomped his feet and shouted.

Lu Rongting glared at his eyes: "Of course we can't turn against each other! Guangdong's Yunnan and Guangdong armies have at least 40,000 people. If the civilian army is included, I'm afraid that more than 80,000 people will be more than 80,000 people... How many of us are there? Now we will break up. We will definitely not be able to persevere if the reinforcements from Beiyang come over, and the reinforcements from Beiyang will be wiped out! And what if the soldiers from Beiyang come over? Guangdong's governor is Cao Kun, Guangxi's governor is Wu Peifu, and you and I will go home to eat old rice!"

"Then, then, what should I do?"

Lu Rongting gritted his teeth: "It's not too late for a gentleman to take revenge for ten years. Let's retreat to Wuzhou first. At the same time, we will send someone to beg for mercy from Sun Dapao, expressing his willingness to give up the position of Guangdong Governor and Guangdong Governor!" He lowered his voice again and said angrily: "The matter of contacting Duan Qirui must be carried out in secret. Only by stabilizing the position and preserving our strength can we have the capital to bargain with Beijing. Even if we sell, we must sell it at a good price!"

...

At 3 a.m. on October 25, 1917, Julian calendar. Just as Sun Yat-sen's Guangdong army marched towards Guangzhou, the Russian October Revolution had begun!

Huang Baopei closed the pocket watch in his hand. He had already put on a Russian military coat, a bright red armband, and a larger horse boot on his feet. He was dressed in a standard Russian Bolshevik Red Guard.

Thinking of his experience over the past year, he could only describe it in terms of magical or bizarre words. A graduate of Peking University was arranged by fate here by fate and had to participate in a foreign armed uprising! He also became the head of the "Red Army aiding Russia" with more than 10,000 officers and soldiers - the political commissar. I don't know if I can also get a supervisor, a governor or other person to do it when I return to the country in the future?

He took a deep breath and waved his hand behind him. Hundreds of "Red Russian Aiding Army" officers and soldiers dressed similarly to him quickly rushed out of the streets near Nikolayevsky Railway Station. Everyone was carrying Russian-made Mosinnagan rifles with sharp bayonets, shouting and launching the first wave of attacks at the railway station.

This railway station is the terminal of the Nikola Railway from Petrograd to Moscow. It is also an important transportation hub in Petrograd, so the Provisional Government has deployed more than 100 policemen here. At present, in Petrograd, the Provisional Government can use the only force except female soldiers and non-commissioned officers, probably these police uncles. In addition to the police, there are hundreds of railway workers and station staff in the train station. They have long been the supporters of the Bolsheviks and are waiting for the day of the uprising.

Seeing the "Red Guards" attack, they also held a "riot" in the station at the same time, and wrestled with the police sent by the provisional government. Several people even took advantage of the chaos to open the large iron gate of the railway station and put the Red Guards from the Eastern Kong side in. As for the police, there was actually not much struggle, and they just resisted and surrendered obediently.

After successfully occupying Nikolayevsky Railway Station, Huang Baopei left more than 100 soldiers to guard the railway station. He led the main force, led by several railway workers familiar with the terrain, quickly approached the Hermitage Square on the north bank of the Neva River. Along the way, he encountered several uprising troops, and many Petrograd citizens also spontaneously joined the team moving towards the Hermitage. The entire Petrograd citizens seemed to be looking forward to this day. The streets were filled with cheering crowds, waving red flags and various placards written in Russian, as if celebrating some festival!

Later, the uprising team led by Huang Baopei had become a parade. More than a thousand officers and soldiers of the "Red Army aiding Russia" were scattered in the parade, and less than a hundred people were still around him. Huang Baopei was so anxious that his face was sweating. Although he had not received any serious military education, he also knew that such a chaotic group of mobs could not fight at all!

But when he arrived at the Hermitage Square, he realized that his previous worries were completely unnecessary. This place had been crowded, with at least tens of thousands of Red Guards and the masses crowding there, surrounding the Hermitage, the last stronghold of the Provisional Government. Huang Baopei and his friends came a little late, so they could only squeeze in the periphery to watch the fun. It was not their turn to attack the Hermitage.

A dozen men and women wearing Red Guards' clothes came over, and the first one was Natalie, the Polish girl Huang Baopei knew. Natalie, Natalie, waved her hand and shouted in Chinese: "Comrade Huang! Just wait for you! Tang Jiu, Ren Fuchen, Liu Shaozhou, Zhong Zhijie and others had already arrived!"

Huang Baopei looked up at the Polish doll revolutionary who was over 1.70 meters tall, with a slightly red cheek. He smiled and said, "I didn't expect them to come so quickly. By the way, where are they?"

Natalie shrugged and spread her hands: "I don't know either. The above just asked me to wait for you Chinese comrades here. Every time a team comes, they will register and report it."

"Oh." Huang Baopei glanced at the chaotic scenes around him and asked again: "Comrade Lesinskaya (Natalie's surname), what should we do now? When will we start attacking the Winter Palace?"

Natalie tilted her head and showed a playful smile: "I don't know either. I didn't say it, but just asked us to wait for the signal and then attack the Winter Palace together. However... you have to queue up to attack the Winter Palace. It seems that we are at the end. I wonder if we can take the turn?"

"Line up?" Huang Baopei looked at the crowded scene in front of the Winter Palace Square and smiled bitterly: "It seems that it's not our turn, by the way. You just said the signal. What is that?"

"It's the sound of the cannons of the cruiser Avle!" Natalie replied excitedly: "The above said that she wanted to bombard the Winter Palace! That's the signal of our general attack."

"When will the fire be fired?" Huang Baopei asked again.

Natalie stuck out her tongue and said half-jokingly: "Uh, maybe they will have to wait until they find the shells? I heard that it was a cruiser under overhaul, with no ammunition and no personnel on it."

At this moment, Comrade Tang Jiu, a former Red Brigade terrorist who was the commander-in-chief of the "Red Army aiding Russia", had already squeezed into the place near the gate of the Winter Palace with a small team.

There is a bit more fighting atmosphere than the outside of the Winter Palace Square. It is relatively empty. The large iron gate at the main entrance of the Winter Palace is tightly closed, and behind the iron gate there are more than a dozen trembling Russian female soldiers guarding a water-cooled machine gun. Looking at the crowds of people outside the door, I was completely at a loss! Some windows near the Winter Palace Square in the South Building of the Winter Palace were also transformed into shooting ports, and some non-commissioned officers who were loyal to the provisional government set up rifles there. The muzzles all pointed at the Red Guards and the masses on the square.

There were also people setting up shooting positions in the square, and some figures who might be Bolshevik cadres were directing the scene. One of them was skinny, with high cheekbones and raised cheekbones. He had a mustache and ran to Tang Jiu and the others with a few young men who looked like workers.

"I am Felix Edmundovitch Derzhinsky, a member of the Revolutionary Military Headquarters. You are now under my command."

Tang Jiu glanced at the military headquarters like an old man and said in extremely stiff Russian: "Okay, then please command...what should we do now?"

Derrensky raised his hand and pointed to a relatively empty place in front of him, and ordered: "Go there, set up a machine gun, and wait for the sound of shelling, attack whenever he hears shelling, and attack through the window!"

Tang Jiu nodded and waved his subordinates to move forward. Derrensky said again: "Tell your people, do not shoot randomly after attacking, and try not to kill people! Especially those in suits, they may be ministers of the interim government. Do you know that you want to capture them alive?"

To be honest, Derrensky's order was a little strange. Aren't the people in the Winter Palace all public enemies? Why can't they be killed? However, Tang Jiu took such a question in his heart. He just smiled: "I understand, Comrade Derrensky, we firmly obey your order!"

Derrensky nodded with satisfaction. He had already had a hard time explaining these issues. It was the first time he met a revolutionary who directly implemented it without asking why.

Tang Jiu and his subordinates approached the direction of the Winter Palace Building. Until the non-commissioned officer entrenched in the building fired a gun and ordered his subordinates to stop moving forward, and began to set up machine guns to arrange attack starting positions, and then a long wait began.

It was not until 9:45 that evening that day that the cruiser Avleir on the Neva River finally fired several empty bullets, and then the chief of the Hermitage defense, Palitsky, ordered the opening of the Hermitage gate to surrender...

Unlike the historical books recorded in later generations, the battle against the Winter Palace on the October Revolution was not fierce at all, and it was not even like a real battle. Whether it was the attacking Bolshevik Red Guards, the female soldiers and non-commissioned officers on the defense, they were trying their best to avoid casualties. In fact, this was a bloodless revolution!!!
