Chapter 142 The Structure of the Universe

On the way to the Fortress in the Moment, Ekmon shared with them a lot of knowledge about the owner of the fortress, the Doomsday Guards.

The Doomsday Guards are one of the many factions of the Imprint City, and when it comes to Imprint City, we have to explain the structure of the multiverse.

Simply put, there are three types of planes in the multiverse: the inner plane, the main material plane and the outer plane. The bottomless abyss where they are now, the Nine Prisons where the devils live, and the wasteland where the Imprint City is located, all belong to the outer plane.

Since there is an outer plane, there are naturally an inner plane. The inner plane is a variety of element planes, including the earth element plane, the fire element plane, the positive and negative energy plane, etc. The basic constituent substances of the world come from the inner plane, and the etheric boundary connects the inner plane with the main matter plane.

The main material plane, also known as the transition plane, is the plane of mortals, and is also the home plane of Lancelot and Bruto. Here, matter from the inner plane collides and combines with will from the outer plane to form countless races and worlds of the vast world. But although there seem to be countless worlds in the main material plane, they are generally believed to be in the same plane, but are separated by a long distance.

The outer plane is inhabited by gods and demons, as well as prayers, mortal inhabitants and other creatures. Although it is difficult to understand, the thoughts, desires and emotions in the spirit of the mortal in the main material plane directly shape each outer plane. Some gods were even born entirely because believers wanted such a god to exist. This is why many outer planes are known to be larger than all main material planes. After all, the imagination of mortals has no limit.

All important outer planes have clear camp tendencies, such as Batto Hell is orderly evil, and unrestrained wilderness is chaotic and kindness. Another argument is that it is precisely because of a clear camp tendency that these planes are "important". The environments and creatures of different planes vary greatly due to camp differences. Here, the concepts of kindness and evil, order and chaos that were originally only in the minds of mortals have specific forms - and fight to the death.

So, if you have to draw a map of the outer plane, the Imprint City is indeed in the center of the map, but it is only the center of the conceptual sense - this is the bottomless abyss of chaos and evil, and the other is the seventh heaven of orderly and kindness. The absolutely neutral Imprint City can only be painted in the middle.

But don't get me wrong. The conceptual center does not equal the center of the multiverse. A bottomless abyss is probably larger than all other planes combined, and some hidden planes will not be drawn on the map at all. In addition, Imprint City is not the most prosperous place in the universe. It would be nice if people in opposing camps don't fight in Imprint City. This fragile order can be maintained thanks to the mistress of Imprint City, the mysterious Lady of Pain.

The reason why she was mysterious was that most of the people who had seen her was dead. The few who were fortunate to have seen her survived, all curled up in the shadows, trembling and whispering the horror of the pain Lady.

But Ms. Pain did not rule like a secular king. She never made any requests to the residents of the Imprint City, nor did she bother to communicate with anyone. People only learned from the unlucky guys who were killed by her what she didn't like. The most important one is: don't talk about Ms. Pain publicly, and not mentioning her name a little louder.

But no one can deny that this cruel and ruthless lady guarded the Imprint City. It is precisely because of her relationship that the divine power can be existed, the Lord of the Abyss and the Grand Duke of the Demons, and that the angels, devils and demons who came here are honest, at least on the surface, they must be like this.

The fifteen factions that maintain the operation of the city (at least some of them try to maintain the operation of the city). These factions are both political factions and philosophical schools. They all come from their respective perspectives about the future of this universe, the destination of mortals, and the ultimate truth.

Some factions believe that life is full of all kinds of pain, and only true death can achieve eternal liberation; some factions believe that the soul will eventually reach the peak of mortals through continuous self-improvement in the continuous cycle of reincarnation and become a divine existence; and another faction believes that every person who commits sin should be given justice by God, and their task is to send every sinful soul to receive God's judgment (this purpose is generally achieved by ending the life of sinners).

The faction of the Doomsday Guards believes that decay is the ultimate fate of the entire multiverse and the ultimate relief from hard work and pain. The meaning of the word "guard" in their names is also very clear. They guard the arrival of this ultimate decay to avoid any fool trying to delay or reverse the process.

Of course, it would be even better if they could help the ultimate decay soon. So their cooperation with the demons was very pleasant - the Doomsday Guards made warships, weapons and armor for the demons, and the reward they sought was simply to hope that the demons would use these items to cause as much damage as possible. And as long as it was profitable, the demons would naturally be happy to maintain this cooperative relationship.

But don't think that the Doomsday Guards are an evil organization. They simply believe that the ultimate decline is equal to the ultimate liberation, and they just coincide with the demons in the goal of destroying the world.

So when the group passed through the broken wall and entered the fortress, not only did no one come up to attack them, but a guard came up to ask them about their intention to come and whether they needed any help, although his tone sounded completely enthusiastic.

According to Ekmon's suggestion, Lancelo claimed that they were a group of mercenaries and came here to buy some weapons and equipment. The guard gave them direction to the armory and told them that they could find bars and hotels there.

After the guard left, the group naturally headed straight to the bar. No matter where you are, if you are confident of any malicious provocation, then as long as it exists, the bar is the best place to know a strange place.

After walking east along the broken wall for a short distance, everyone soon arrived at a block full of taverns and shops. Touching the storage bag containing gold coins, Lancelo led everyone toward the largest and least-defeated tavern.
