Chapter 418: The Arctic Deep Well
Uvarkin means walrus.
In the administrative division of Chukotka, this place is called a city, but it is actually a town composed of four settlements.
As early as hundreds of years ago, the Chukchi people settled here, and walruses often stayed here, often called Walrus Village.
In 1934, the famous Soviet polar explorer Otto Yurievich Schmidt arrived at this corner of the Chukchi Sea and established a new settlement near Walrus Village, called Schmidt.
Special angle.
During the confrontation between Su Xiong and Sam, the border between Chukchi and Chukchi was an important strategic area.
So Su Xiong built a military airfield and supporting military units at Schmidt Point, which was used as the forward base for the Tu-4 strategic bomber.
In those days, strategic bombers were equipped with nuclear bombs to fight, so in some movies shot in Sam Country, this place was also called: the starting point of the end of mankind.
In the late 1960s, a large amount of gold was discovered near Schmidt's Point, and the settlement gradually prospered.
Gold miners established two more settlements, built mineral processing plants and metal smelting plants, and even used a diesel engine from a cargo ship in the harbor to build a power plant floating on the sea. Schools, clinics and other living facilities began to be improved.
.
Gold mining activities continued until the end of Su Xiong. In the early 1990s, the Chukchi government failed to take care of the area. The supply of living materials could not be guaranteed. Schmidt Point fell into a serious economic crisis. People left one after another. The military was not allowed to leave in 2000.
Don't evacuate from here.
In another life, more than ten years later, after the bear returns to health, this place will become a new military base and be used to build air and space forces.
In this life, there is no need to wait for more than ten years - Abra has already obtained Pewkin's support and is building a satellite launch base here.
As a result, the idle people in Schmidt Point were organized to move to Walrus Village.
Schmidt Point will become a mysterious special area.
The population of Walrus Village is dominated by the Chukchi people. After accepting the population from other settlements, the total population of the village has exceeded 8,000 people.
These 8,000 people are almost the entire population of Uvarkin City.
However, since last year, many Chinese people have come here to conduct oil drilling business.
In October, Uvarkin is already covered in ice and snow, but a large construction site in the hinterland of the harbor is bustling with people and the construction scene is in full swing.
In order to increase the temperature, many oil barrels were lit in the newly built oil and gas storage station. The thick black smoke formed a sharp contrast with the surrounding white snow.
After Chen Lidong saw this scene, he frowned, but did not criticize anyone out loud.
The construction of the station here was originally planned for next year, but changes in the South China Sea disrupted the plan.
Workers started arriving at the site in September and are now working day and night to catch up with the progress.
The oil and gas field located in the Chukchi Sea is ready to produce.
The platform presided over by Yin Lishan has been working offshore for nearly a year. It was originally planned to drill to 12,000 meters, but now it has exceeded 10,000 meters.
With the rapid development of social economy, the demand for major energy sources such as oil is increasing year by year, and Blue Star Energy is becoming increasingly scarce.
The extraction of oil and gas fields is also gradually developing into deeper layers, prompting the continuous development of drilling technology for deep wells and ultra-deep wells.
Generally speaking, wells with a depth of 4,500 to 6,000 meters are considered deep wells, 6,000 to 9,000 meters are considered ultra-deep wells, and wells exceeding 9,000 meters are considered extra-deep wells.
After a long period of time, there are currently dozens of countries drilling deep and ultra-deep wells on Blue Star, but in terms of technology, it still belongs to Sam, the former Su Xiong, and the Japanese.
The ultra-deep well drilling technology equipment and comprehensive technical level of these three countries have always been in the leading position in the world.
Note that we are talking about the former bear, not the woolly bear.
Chen Lidong has a dream of stars and sea, and is already preparing to land on an asteroid, build a space factory, mine scarce resources, and explore hundreds of thousands of kilometers beyond the blue star.
But he also yearns for exploring downwards.
Generally speaking, the thickness of the earth's crust is 5 to 70 kilometers: the thickness of the oceanic crust is smaller, generally 5 to 10 kilometers, with an average of 7 to 8 kilometers; the thickness of the continental crust is large, with an average of 35 kilometers; the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the thickest, up to 60 to 70 kilometers
kilometers; the coastal plain is the thinnest, about 20 kilometers at its thinnest point.
The first deep well in China is located in the Shu Basin. Drilling started in 1971 and was stopped in 1976. The well is 6,011 meters deep. If it continues to be drilled, it will be close to the magma layer.
China's first ultra-deep well was also in Shu Province. It was drilled on December 17, 1974 and completed on December 4, 1977, with a depth of 7,175 meters.
This is a test well, or scientific research well. During the drilling process, technical public relations were conducted while drilling, and a complete and reliable geological profile of the Cretaceous-Permian system in the Shu Province Basin was obtained, which opened the door for oil exploration in the northwest area of Shu Province.
The new situation provides "first-hand" information for studying local petroleum geology.
The deepest well in China is the Luntan No. 1 well located in the Tarim Basin, with a depth of 8,882 meters, setting a new record for the deepest well on land in Asia, achieving the goal of drilling underground Mount Everest, and marking a major breakthrough in ultra-deep exploration in the Tarim Basin.
Its drilling success added a large oil field of 6.4 million tons to China.
However, this well will take more than ten years to be drilled.
The deepest well in Japan was drilled in 1990 and stopped in 1994. The hole is 9,100 meters deep.
The deepest well in Sam Country is said to be the Bertha Rogers Super Deep Well, with a depth of 9,583 meters.
The deepest well in Blue Star was completed during the Su Xiong period, on the Kola Peninsula deep in the Arctic Circle.
In 1983, the well reached 12,000 meters, surpassing the depth of the Mariana Trench, the world's deepest. In 1989, the Kola Superdeep Borehole reached its maximum depth of 12,262 meters for the first time.
However, drilling work stopped in 1992, but data and data research on the Kola ultra-deep well continues.
Chen Lidong supports drilling a deep well in the Chukchi Sea, not only to set some drilling records, such as a depth of more than 100 meters per hour.
It is also to test the performance of the platform, drilling rig, drill pipe, drill bit and various supporting equipment. During this year, according to the actual situation, many improvements have been made to the drill bit and drill pipe.
At the same time, it is necessary to obtain geological information and various data in the Arctic waters.
Since this year, many experts from Huaxia Petroleum, Petrochemicals, and CNOOC have gone to the platform to visit and inspect, and some people have stayed to track and study the drilling data.
At present, with the assistance of various advanced equipment, this platform has obtained 33 items of information, 134,514 pieces of data, and discovered 32 abnormal sections of oil, gas, water display and gas measurement.
Judging from the data obtained, this is indeed a highly productive oil and gas field, with a daily oil production that may exceed 20,000 tons.
However, it will take another month for the oil field to be officially put into production. By then, even if the daily production is 30,000 tons, it will not be able to achieve the goal of increasing production by 4 million tons.
