Chapter 37 Business from Mine Street(1/4)

The hearse drove back to Mink Street and stopped on the roadside in front of the house.

Turn off the flame,

My hand touched the steering wheel again,

Karen suddenly felt an inexplicable love that she couldn't put down.

After all, it is a car that my family spent so much money to buy, and there is really nothing to say about its quality.

Mina opened the courtyard door, and Aunt Mary came out and asked, "Have you eaten?"

"Mom, we ate at Sarah's house."

"I won't even call back," Aunt Mary complained.

"Sarah's house doesn't have a phone."

At this time, Aunt Mary saw the jar held in Karen's hand: "What's in the jar?"

"Pickled cucumber, quite refreshing."

"Yeah, I'll try it tomorrow too."

Karen returned to the third floor and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

Even in winter, he would insist on taking a bath every day. This was a habit he developed in his previous life; fortunately, he still has this condition in this life.

Aunt Mary would put clean pajamas on the bathroom counter in the evening every day, and the clothes for the next day would be placed on Karen's bedroom bed. This made Karen feel very warm.

I took a comfortable hot bath and put on my pajamas. I thought about going to the second floor to get a glass of ice water, but after a moment of hesitation, I went into my bedroom first.

Lunt was sitting on his spring bed, playing with some cards in his hand;

Karen sat down at the desk,

As if I suddenly remembered something,

He turned sideways and said to Lunt who was on the bed behind him:

"I just forgot, Lunt, go and get me a glass of ice water."

"Okay, brother."

Lunt got out of bed, put on his slippers and went out to help his brother pour water.

Karen stretched out his hands and reached for the "General History of Rylan Religion" that Mina had borrowed for him from the library. However, he unexpectedly discovered that there were several more books on the desk.

Religious books.

"Brother, water."

"Well, by the way, Lunt, who put these books here?"

"Oh, I got it from grandpa's study."

"Did you get it from grandpa's study?"

Do you have the guts to enter grandpa's study and steal books?

"Grandpa asked me to get it."

"Oh well."

This is normal.

Lunt lay back on the bed, pillowed his head on the pillow, looked at Karen, and asked:

"Brother, aren't you going to rest?"

"I'll read some more books."

"Brother, aren't you planning to resume school?" Lunt asked curiously.

The previous brother might not be able to adapt to school, but Lunt thinks it's okay with the current brother. He actually looks forward to seeing his brother's drawers filled with love letters after he returns to school, so that at this time in the evening, he can help his brother happily open them.

Love letter!

"Let's talk about this later. You should go to bed early."

Before, Karen was anxious to go back to school, want to pass the exam, get away from Dis, and breathe fresh and free air;

Now Karen, as a legal "evil god", realizes that the free air outside is not actually for him.

Turning on the desk lamp, he took out a new book. The cover of the book was brown, and the title was "Symmetra." Karen noticed that the book was not labeled with the publisher, but it was fairly well-made.

So, this is an internal publication of the Cult of Kosmos?

Opening the book and glancing at the outline, Karen found that it was indeed a book introducing the "Cult of Kosmos".

It's a bit like applying for a job at another company, and they will give you an "introduction" to their company, which will include the company's founding, development, growth, opportunities, and of course, the most important thing is the extremely bright prospects and blueprint for the future.

.

Generally, the more unreliable a company is, the more dazzling its future planning blueprint will be.

However, internal religious publications are different from those MLM companies, because the future prospects are basically fixed, and they are even the prayers that believers usually talk about;

Moreover, as it ages and has been inherited for a long time, even if it is a MLM company, if it can continue to do MLM for thousands of years or even more than an era, it...may still be a MLM company...but it must be infected with aristocratic temperament.

The first half of the book in my hand is about the history of the Cult of Kosmos;

Let’s start with the mythical story at the beginning, and after the “historical narrative” of the mythical story is finished, we will transition to a development model with names, surnames, and eras.

For example, what did a certain person do for the Cult of Kosmos in a certain country in a certain year, what precedents were created, etc. It is very much like the chronicle of a country's political power.

In terms of mythological stories, Karen paid special attention to the part about the awakening of the God of Order.

In the explanation of this book, the God of Order is self-enclosed and exiled for an era, followed by a lot of complicated narratives, which in summary means the equivalent of "the eminent monk enlightened himself".

It’s just that the God of Order’s enlightenment took a longer time, and the eminent monk came out of seclusion, while the God of Order “awakened”.

The "awakening" here is very similar to the "awakening technique" that the inquisitors of the Cult of Kosmos must master.

Karen remembered that Pu'er once told him that in the mythological narrative of the Cult of Kosmos, it was the God of Light who awakened the God of Order, but there was no such record in this book.

Pu'er lived a long time. According to Dis, Pu'er was already related to the Immelais family before Dis was born;

Therefore, Karen believed Pu'er's statement more. After all, written records can be changed. The most important thing is, what purpose does a cat have to tamper with history for a high school dropout like himself?

As for why in this book, the involvement of the God of Light was eliminated?

The reason is also easy to understand, because the Light God Religion has died.

The reason why the God of Light was included in the mythological narratives of the Cult of Kosmos in the early years... may also be due to the popularity of the Cult of Light at that time.

And after the Guangming Cult died, they immediately cut it off and revised its own dark history.

After all, which religion would want its ancestor’s true god to be the younger brother of another true god?

If you still have a great family and a great business, you can still hold your nose and climb down this family. The grass on your grave is so high now. You must be the eternal glory of the God of Order in my family.

Not only that, but taking into account the fact that the God of Order has "self-isolated and exiled" for an era as written in the book, he is equivalent to being one step ahead of the God of Light in terms of age or seniority.

Originally it was the God of Light who "awakened" the God of Order, a bit like the elders supporting the younger ones, the elder brother waking up the younger brother;

Now it seems that the prayer of the God of Light moved the God of Order, and then the God of Order descended.

It’s very similar to the religious way fans in the fandom treat their idols;

Karen directly skipped the rest of the mythological narrative, and also chose to skip the middle chronicle.

The last volume describes the current operating model of the Cult of Kosmos.

But it only records which countries have which regions, how many management offices have how many statues, and does not describe the real underlying operational logic in detail;

But there is a theory that attracts Karen, because it seems normal at first reading, but after thinking about it carefully, it feels weird.

"The gods signed a contract and the contract bound them. The gods took the initiative to step back half a step and let the God of Order take charge of the order of the heavens."

"The Cult of Kosmos, as an existence that maintains order, should treat everyone equally under the light of order."

The "gods" here signed a contract of order with the God of Order. Karen does not think it is true, unless the person who recorded this was the table where the contract was signed or the pen where the contract was signed in the God Realm at that time;

Therefore, this should be an allusion to the reality of many orthodox churches in reality;

Taking a half step back should be a transfer of part of the power to the Cult of Kosmos, allowing the Cult of Kosmos to maintain a certain order.

But why are those other orthodox religious sects so reasonable? So considerate of the overall situation?

Is it really a proactive concession based on friendly negotiation?

And under the "Light of Order", everyone is treated equally, and the meaning is worth pondering again;

The connection between these words made Karen have an image of a young and Dangerous boy holding a machete in his mind:

Do you obey the rules I have set?

Don't be afraid, I like to convince people with my virtue!

Karen took a sip of water,

Therefore, the Cult of Kosmos should have relatively strong power and confidence in this world, at least for now.

After roughly reading this book, Karen felt a little tired and did not plan to read the remaining books for the time being;
To be continued...
