Chapter 97: Shadow Sorrow (Part 1)(1/2)

The sky outside the window was gray, and the clouds were pulled down very low by the moisture, pressing against the ceiling above the head, which seemed to be about to collapse.

The air seemed to be stuffy and suffocating, without a trace of wind.

The whole world is like a pot lid, all creatures will be suffocated in it, and any struggle will become meaningless.

The ghost prince Egerella, who was standing in front of the window, withdrew her gaze and sat back silently on the chair behind the desk.

His former brother and ally, Revalan, Yada and Oripa, were both dead. The seriously injured and dying Ekasia was sent back to the temple of the Kingdom of Sambiya for treatment. Even Ramorak, who disliked him, fled from the floating city of Sakros, and tried to go to the realm of the magic net to find his own path.

He is the only one left in the floating city at this moment.

A man... Egerella sighed, looked at the empty study room with a complicated expression, and murmured to herself.

As a believer of Miss Lost, he didn't know whether he should be glad or despair at this moment.

Maybe both, he pushed away the books that made him restless, leaned on the back of the chair with exhaustion on his face, and guessed in his heart.

In a trance, the ghost prince Egerella didn't remember when he closed his eyes.

He only felt that the memories that had long been sealed in his mind were opened like a dam.

This time, he did not deliberately resist, so that he inexplicably returned to Kalsas Territory, and he looked down at his father on the tower.

This time, the Supreme King Terramante Tanshul looked much younger, with his hair still black and not mixed with any gray silk.

He lowered his head, as if whispering in the woods, "...I hope my children will respect and love each other from beginning to end."

Then he prayed, "May my wife be able to forgive me sincerely..."

"Father." Egerella softly called out the strange name that he had long forgotten, and his voice turned into a whisper in style.

Terramante Tanshul looked up at the tower for a long time.

He frowned, but did not speak, and then he continued to pray, but the rest of the prayer was drowned by the sudden sound of wood knocking.

Terramante Tanshul's figure dissipated like morning mist in the sun, and replaced by two children leaping in the woods of the surface world, waving broken branches to chase and fight each other.

Egerella hit Brenas's thigh with a wooden stick, hitting him into the pool, and kept thrusting.

"Speak quietly, stupid." Egerella threw away the branches in her hand, "Didn't it just fall into the water? Do you want your mother to hear it and tell her father?"

He knelt by the pool and pulled his brother out of the water, but both disappeared before Brenas came out.

The image flashed faster and faster. The proud Revalan, the stubborn Yada, the twin brothers Matik and Vatik who liked to play tricks, and the soft-spoken and kind-hearted Desud... Their faces made Egerella confused and dizzy until he did not see his father, nor did he see Brenas and other brothers.

When the image was frozen, he finally saw his mother.

She knelt in front of the statue of the lost lady Shar, praying as if she was begging. Then his elder brother Rivalan appeared. He pulled out his long knife with great momentum, grabbed his mother's hair, pulled it back and slashed hard towards her neck.

Life is lost with the pouring red tide.

"It seems that it's over long ago." Egerella murmured to himself, the images frozen in his mind seemed to have made him taste the taste of blood himself.

The taste was undoubtedly bitter, but it gradually made his confused eyes become unwavering.

He sighed deeply, as if a twilight old man slowly stood up from the chair and staggered to the huge floor-to-ceiling window.

He stared at the gray sky, as misty as an invisible net, bound his thoughts. His feelings had the urge to shout out loud, but they were all wrapped up in this depressing atmosphere, unable to break free, unable to speak, and suppressed to the point where he could not speak, and then a person was submerged in this hollow and deep darkness.

But the dusty memory has passed through the fog of thousands of years, allowing the ghost prince Egerella to find his final destination.

The next morning, with a hint of bleakness.

Egerella met Ms. Lost in the tower of the Floating City and spokesperson for the material world: Priestess 'Black Veil' Eliriel.

"Are you here to indict me, ma'am?" Agerala asked calmly at the priestess who was standing quietly at the desk.

His brothers died and walked away. Before he knew it, he had become the leader of the floating city of Sachros, but Egerella was not happy at all.

"Ask the guilt?" Eliriel glanced at the ghost prince with a frivolous gaze and smiled, "What are you asking for? Praise our goddess who keeps secrets. Even if your plan has failed, what does it matter? After all, everything is under my control."

It's your goddess, not mine, Egerra thought.

The tone of the priestess's speech and the confidence that exuded him made him secretly terrified, and even made him wonder whether the other party had seen through his thoughts at the moment.

He forced himself to calm down, snorted lightly, then deliberately breathed a sigh of relief, and said slowly, "Since that's the case, what is your purpose here?"

"For what?" the priestess repeated in a low voice, saying with an extremely pious expression, "of course it is for our great lost lady Shar."

"Although our plan to target Magic Net twice has failed," she returned to calm and said in a relaxed tone, "but it was these two failures that have won us another chance."

"That's what you said when the ceremony of the Dark Grand Canyon was destroyed." Egerella replied faintly, "The same is true for Shadow Valley. You still say so in the Magic Net Realm, I have already..."

"What can I doubt?" Egerella shook her shoulders and chuckled. "I just want to summarize a little experience from failure."

"It's not the time to summarize the experience." The priestess turned around and looked towards the direction of the Eno'oke Desert, and said in a serious tone: "Although the magic net has been repaired, in the battle between Slinshi and Larock in the magic net, she ignored the ruins of Mess Zhuono she guarded. I have sent someone to take away another complete set of color-resistant scrolls hidden in the ruins."

Hearing the color-resistant scroll, Egerella raised her eyelids and glanced at Eliriel, and then lost interest.

"As long as we use the power hidden in this color-resistant scroll, we can cooperate with "Black Chronicles" and "A Night Thousand Petals" to arrange a powerful shadow ceremony in the Enoak Desert, allowing the remaining nine shadows to take this opportunity to break free from the cage set up by Azus and Gond."

Aegrera quietly recalled the priestess' words, showing a look of no interest, and said casually, "What if it fails?"

"Failed?" Eliriel smiled, "It won't fail."

"Why are you so sure?" Egerella asked.

"Because I chose the position to arrange the ceremony..." Eliriel deliberately paused for a moment before saying slowly, "On the forbidden wall set by the Saron monster for the Ferin Demon Aoi, if the ceremony fails, the entire forbidden wall will be destroyed by this terrible energy, and then awaken all the Ferin Demon Aoi who is sleeping in the "Bride's" memory tower."

Hearing this, Egerra was silent.

After the long silence, he looked at the veiled priestess, "What is your purpose to tell me of such a great plan? You are not afraid..."

"In my impression, you should be considered the most sensible and intelligent of all the ghost princes." said the priestess, "so, I believe you will make the choice that suits my expectations."

She had seen that my belief in Miss Lost had begun to shake, and Egerella thought to herself, since she had doubts, why should she tell me these secrets?

Obviously, she is testing my loyalty, or...using me to convey some news to the outside world.

A deep feeling of fatigue flowed through Egerra's whole body like flowing water, making his eyes gradually become firm.

He looked at the priestess standing in front of him casually and said slowly:

"In terms of intelligence, I am not as good as Desud, in terms of talent, I am far from Brenas, in terms of belief in Miss Lost, I am not as good as Revalan and Yada, and even in terms of attachment to magic, I am not as good as Ramorak. So, Ms. Eliriel, I regret to tell you that this time, I may disappoint you."

"Because... a mortal will die." When he finished speaking, the ghost prince, who had closed his eyes, activated the detonation array of Mither's energy core.

…………

Going out of the confinement tower, going down the back door stairs, and then disappearing into the city of Selgonte is easy for the female barbarian Brenciti.

However, instead of choosing to escape, Brenciti turned into a guarding passage and walked through the rear of the large mansion to prepare for the most important task in her life.

She passed by the endless stream of maids, male servants and housekeepers.

Although Gelina's magic is very powerful, even if she is unveiled, it can help her quickly reorganize and kill, Brenciti remains unobtrusive at all times, not looking at people or speaking.

A quarter of an hour later, Brenciti walked out of the guarded passage and entered the dim hall in front of the private wing of the ghost prince Ecasia.

The door between the vestibule and the wings was closed, and the ghost warriors were still wearing armor fighting in Mokou Town. For a moment, she felt desperate about her plan.

There is no other way to enter the wing, at least she hasn't seen it before. Even if she remains invisible, she will not be able to defeat the dozen ghost warriors under Ecasia.

But, as Brenciti hoped, even if he was half dead in bed, the ghost prince Ecasia would handle the official duties of the Shadowmen against the Kingdom of Sambi.

This made her secretly thank the Kingdom of Cormier, who fought a beautiful victory, allowing these damn shadow people to hide here like wrecked dogs.

It is precisely because of this that she found a chance to take revenge.

Not long after, Brenciti saw a hurry messenger approaching the door with a message bottle filled with shadows.

Brenciti followed so closely that when an escort, commanding the messenger to stop three steps away from the door, she had to quickly dodge behind him so as not to bump into him.

The guard took the message bottle and sent the messenger away. When the latter disappeared in the corridor, the former turned around and knocked on the door lightly.

Brenciti stood beside the guard for a long time, not even breathing, for fear that his breath would blow on his arm.

Finally, a shadow citizen dressed in a housekeeper opened the door, and the crack was so open that he could stick out and take away the message bottle.

Perhaps waiting for maids or other servants to enter the door is wise, as their service requires opening the door with both shoulder widths, but Brenciti didn't waste precious time making a decision, and Brenciti knew that the murders in the Confinement Tower would not always sink to the sea.

She squatted down, carefully preventing her body from touching the guard, and then walked sideways through the narrow door opening, trying not to step on the butler's feet. Unexpectedly, the butler suddenly closed the door and stuck her feet.

The guard shouted at the butler's mistake and reached out to push the door.

Brencitti turned her flat feet sideways, and before the heavy door was forcibly closed, she put her feet into the room.

Very dangerous!

The door closed with a click, and Brencitti sat on a seat in the back hall, immediately opened her mouth and took a deep breath to calm her heartbeat.

Brenciti, with both hands and knees and evading the back and forth, walked through the back hall and entered the dark corridor leading to the Prince's inner hall.

In the hall, she had to slip by under the crossed halberds of a group of guards.

Finally, Brenciti finally entered the prince's spacious and gorgeous bedroom from the locker room.

She was surprised to see that the ghost prince Ecasia was really lying alone on his big bed, a human-shaped shadow pressing against a black rib cage.

His beating black heart was clearly visible in his rib cavity. The magic net fire that almost burned him to death still emitted a faint silver light that could not be dissipated for a long time.
